  1. You're the new guy, aren't you? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  2. You didn't answer his question. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  3. That's the understatement of the century. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  4. You're kidding me, right, with the 'did he say he was going to eat it' comment? Come on, Bill. That's right up there with the whole definition of 'is' thing. I thought you were better than that. As far as the Bush thing. I hadn't heard that, but yes, that's dishonest also. I didn't know that we were talking about a US Congressman who advocated ethnic cleansing. He's just some schmuck who's running, right? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  5. Bill, you can't dispute the fact that the majority of -poor- minority neighborhoods do have higher than normal crime rates, with a disproportionately higher violent crime rate when compared to middle class neighborhoods and above. Is it sad? Yes. Is it true? Yes. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  6. Of course it's not nearly as bad as ethnic cleansing. I don't think you'll find anyone here to disagree with that statement. What it is though is dishonest. That's something I would think that a presidential nominee should try to avoid. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  7. Strange that you rarely mentioned them. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  8. Is it Mexico, or Mexico City? Anyhow, I would prefer something in the middle. Opening closed refineries and building new ones would certainly help keep the price of gas low and would also put some folks back to work. Both, I think, would be good for everyone. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  9. Well, if the environmental regulations in the US weren't so strict, we wouldn't have to use 'cheaper dirty third world refineries'. We could build new refineries here and reopen some of the closed refineries. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be an option, so we're forced, instead, to use what we can. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  10. Jesus Christ, dude. That's just sick. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  11. And right there is a big one. When is the last time an oil company built a refinery in the US? When is the last time an oil company closed a refinery in the US? Environmental regulations these days, while nice, aren't really condusive to keeping gasoline prices low. Demand has gone way, way up. The ability to produce the product domestically has declined. What do you think will happen to gas prices? (Not directed at you Kev, but you mentioned refining costs - something I think most people overlook) - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  12. Why they don't build a high performance canopy with Vectran lines is a mystery to me. They, in this case, means pretty much everyone. I just don't understand the need (or want) to build a real high performance canopy with Spectra anymore. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  13. Of my two jumps on a Raven 218 (I think that's the size) I experienced a right hand turn and a crappy flare. With regards to the smaller Ravens, I've seen two collapse, one putting the jumper in the hospital, and heard of many more with the same built in turn and tendency to collapse. The PD is a superior reserve, in my opinion. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  14. In most cases this is true. In the case of a water landing though, I think we can eliminate the risk. Don't jump near water. Problem solved. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  15. I saw a Blade with HMA a few weekends ago. Who makes that? HiPer? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  16. Yes it is. I've got two jumps on Ravens and two jumps on PD Reserves. I'm a PD Reserve customer for life, no question. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  17. Democrats twist: Not cool, but not really a lie Republicans twist: Not cool, definitely a lie. Now it all makes sense. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  18. It's also fair to let us know your gripe, otherwise it's just more noise. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  19. Keep in mind, as Kevin pointed out in another thread, that there is the Executive Order. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  20. I disagree. If Kerry wins it won't be a slow leftward swing bringing us back to center, or a more moderate position. It will be a radical swing to left - as far to left as GWB is to the right. He's got the most liberal voting record in the Senate right now, do you expect him to come 'round to center if elected to the Presidency? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 21. Hope you don't miss. Hope he's not wearing a thick jacket. Hope he's actually incapacitated by it. The Taser is hardly the perfect defensive weapon. If I could only have one, a gun or a Taser, guess which one I would choose? Which one would you choose, TK? Which one? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  22. Your position is naive, the position of those arguing in favor of gun rights is realistic. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  23. You've made this argument twice now and I've got to tell you, it doesn't make any more sense this time than it did the last time. Why does it matter the intended use of the pool or the car. Fact is that more people die from auto accidents and drownings than do from gun violence. Is it death you're trying to prevent, or just people owning guns? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  24. Agreed. However, as 'alternative' parties are dragged into the main stream they'll be forced to rethink their policies if they expect real public support. More important than that though is the rethink and repositioning that the Republicans and Democrats do as the alternative parties gain popularity. That, I think, is the real (and realistic) benefit. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  25. The beauty though of our adversarial system is that he won't be able to simply take office and make all of that happen. Hell, he won't even take office, but every vote does lend credibility to the party, a party that I think deserves a bit more attention. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends.
