In other words . . . People who worry too much about issues that aren't important to me, or that I don't agree with, are spending too much time away from actual issues that affect them. That's better.

After reading the point of view of our resident policemen, it seems to me that it's the fault of Joe Citizen. If the people could be trusted to act responsibly the police wouldn't have to take what you see as drastic measures to get them off the street. Sad, isn't it? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

I overheard somebody discussing this theory at lunch today. Sort of makes Iraq seem like a giant piece of flypaper, or maybe more appropriate, a big rat trap. Lure all the rats into Fallujah (keeping them out of the US) and drop the hammer. He went so far as to suggest that to keep the trap active, that the US had no current interest in really stabilizing the region. It's not a theory I'd heard before, but one that I do find interesting. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Disaffected Americans look north to 'better government'

Funny thing about the 'middle', these days what you call the middle is what I call the left, what I call the middle is what you call the right. We would do well to take a step back, all of us, and really think about what is important to us. I'd be happy if what I call the middle became the right and if what you call the middle became the left, the middle would then truely be the middle. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. Honestly, Wendy, I skipped right over it. I tend to avoid the majority of the one liners. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Where on earth did you get that idea? See if any of these ring a bell: * 1993: The first World Trade Center bombing * 1995: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - A car bomb explodes outside of a US Military HQ, killing 5. * 1996: Dhahran, Saudi Arabia - A truck bomb explodes outside of the Khobar Towers complex, killing 19 Americans and injuring hundreds of others. * 1998: Almost simultanious explosion outside of the US Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. Death toll: 254. * 2000: The USS Cole. Seventeen killed. Every single attack listed before GWB was even elected to the office of President, much less sworn in. Hell, looking at the numbers it looks like every single one of those attacks happened on Clinton's watch. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Agreed. But as I said earlier, I'd rather have 10 of them than one of him. Nope. Not at all. See above. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Got a source? I know his family is worth billions; I'm looking for a source on their support AQ. If it's true that his family contributes to the efforts of AQ, what makes you think that they wouldn't contribute to his successor? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. I know that his family is worth billions, but they've disowned him, correct? Is -he- worth billions, also? Will it? This seems contradictory to your first statement. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Personally, I'd rather see us devote time and effort into dismantling the Al Queda network rather than focus on one man. I'd rather get 10 of them than 1 of him. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
