  2. REPLY> Frankly, yes. One is on YouTube. And not without issues. Ckret has remarked about how FBI interviews diverge (in some cases) from later socalled media interviews... Guess I should have been more specific when I said "Press". I'm looking for something more credible and not so media-hype. For example, "Walter Cronkite or Dan Rather type" of interview as opposed to "Access Hollywood or Entertainment Tonight" splash. :^) As to why I questioned the 305 passenger footage, yes it came about when folks started pointing out specifics on the passengers. It led to an uncertainty on who exactly the news was showing and if it had credibility in that portion. If it was for just our viewing pleasure (to lend a bridge to the story-line) then that's all it had to be. However, when specifics were being pulled out and lent to a possible Duane comparison, then it had to be studied further. I believe most here understand that. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  3. I had, of course, considered this angle. And perhaps they were. However, it's spoken about as if this was the entry point directly from 305 and the tarmac. Wonder if any of the true passengers were ever interviewed by the press... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  4. Having a grandfather, uncle, and cousin who had Huntington's Chorea, and seeing them suffer for YEARS before succumbing to pneumonia, it was my family's decision NOT to procreate. Then a wonderful test was discovered by a doctor who spent years in Venezuela, studying a tribe who had a very high incidence of the disease. She created a series of tests that would determine if you were afflicted or not. My mother went, secretly, to have the test done in Boston. Thankfully she discovered that she didn't. However, she watched as her father declined, suffered for over 40 years, and died. He had been a brilliant physician before he had to close his office doors at 40 because he couldn't function anymore. HD is a HORRID disease. If anybody who has a history of it in their family and wishes to have their own children, PLEASE seek out this test and go through the steps to find out if you have it or not BEFORE you procreate. No family wants to see their children die of such a monstrous disease. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  5. The footage shows a time of 5:36 GMT. The plane was airborne again at 7:34 PM PST which would put that at 3:34 GMT. 6:21 pm pst t1 [ 305 on ground. New instructions from Cooper , getting ready to deplane passengers and stewardesses… REPLY> Sluggo should reply to this because he probably knows the full story. My impression from the transcript is the passengers stood on the tarmak (tarmac) for some time waiting to be taken to the terminal. There was confusion. Scott was concerned about the passenger's safety and complained about the confusion several times. One passenger ran back to the airplane trying to get something left behind and Scott describes him as being 'tackled' on the steps.... there were problems with sequestering the passengers into an area .. and finally with all the confusion of people wandering around the airport was closed. One frankly gets the image of near chaos for a time, from the transcript. Its my understanding that part of this traces back to Cooper not actually releasing the passengers to go back to the terminal until all he requested' had been delivered, andso they were held on the tarmak ... for sometime. But, Scott makes it very clear in the transcript he was concerned about the safety of the passengers and wanted them away from the plane (where Cooper is holding a bomb)... --305 landed at Seattle at 1:43 GMT --Passengers/Stews deplaned around 2:21-2:44 GMT --Hijacked 305 was again airborne at 3:34 GMT --Cronkite's deplaning passenger footage at 5:36 GMT I just might be me, but even if the passengers were disoriented on what to do, or where to go, they wouldn't sit out there on the tarmac for over 3 hours. The weather was cold and wet as well. I don't see any of the footage passengers as either cold, or damp. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

    WHAOOOOOOO

I was just about to jokingly call out "Earthquake!" to what I -thought- was our maintenance guys making noise in the attic above our gym when 15 seconds later the harder hit arrived. It -wasn't- the guys rumbling around overhead, but the gentle start of the quake. It felt like water boiling under your feet where I was (North San Bernardino) and went on for some time. We're so used to them there that we just kept working with our patients and hoped that we didn't have to adjust what we were doing... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  8. Good to know. Thanks. And at what time were the passengers released by Cooper? The footage shows a time of 5:36 GMT. Did the passengers -really- sit on the plane for almost 4 hours before being released? The plane was airborne again at 7:34 PM PST which would put that at 3:34 GMT. ltdiver REPLY> from transcript. 3:07 pm pst 11/24 t1 [Departure PDX] 305: Out PDX 2253/2258. ETA SEA 2336 on 18.5 RB KC2307CK 3:13 pm pst t1 [hijack note] 305: Passenger advises is hijacking enroute to Seattle. 6:21 pm pst t1 [ 305 on ground. New instructions from Cooper , getting ready to deplane passengers and stewardesses… 15 degree flaps first mentioned] 6:38 pm pst t1 [release of stewardesses etc … technical discussion about stairs] 305: Have negotiated release of 2 girls leaving at any moment. 3rd girl (Tina Mucklow) to stay with aircraft. H e wants her to manipulate stairs for him after plane is airborne. Have tried to tell him unable to operate stairs to lower position after 6:44 pm pst t1 [stewardesses leaving aircraft] 305: Ops. Other two gils leaving aircraft. MSFLOPS: Roger. KC0244CK Sluggo may have the "facts" version. So, by this timeline it's pretty certain that those passengers seen deplaning and entering the terminal are -not- from 305. Thanks. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  10. All, Just my opinion here, but if you look at the date from the Walter Cronkite segment you'll see the date of the deplaning passengers. It's not the date of the hijacking, it's the next day, November 25. (date is imbedded in the film strip if you look). IMO that footage is most likely not from Cooper's 305, but just footage the cameraman shot the next day for Cronkite's report. Besides, it looks like it's dark outside. Didn't the passengers debark in Seattle when it was still light? On the tarmac? Away from the terminal? This passenger footage could just as well be from Reno, just a random shot of any passengers. Just some thoughts to chew on. Not sure if there's anybody left who'll know the exact answer to this question. Unless you can find the cameraman who shot the film. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  11. It would actually make alot of sense that it is/was Duane. If for some reason he was on the flight he could/would have had enough emotional connection and memory to follow the story (even as an innocent party). This could easily have become romantised to the point where he fantasised about his involvement - and over the years the story grows (like the fish that got away). From experience with my own family I know that some people can really struggle to separate fantasy from reality - to the point they genuinely believe their own lie. If you look back to the old thread this is a theory that was put forth in one of my entries as well. I agree with you that Duane might very well have been an accomplice, or at least someone who took a deep interest in the crime...deep enough to study anything he could find on the subject. And if someone does that, and immerses himself in the subject matter so keenly, they'll soon adopt the story as their own. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  14. So, my local paper shows up this week and I scan the articles for any updates that will affect my daily life... I got to the back page and was at first intrigued with the title of the article. Front page and back page articles are usually the ones that are most important, right? Title of the article: "Five things you never knew about your cell phone". Hmmmm....I read on.... The claims in the article seemed a bit too good to be true (read: a bit too fishy). Especially the 'unlocking of your car through your cell phone'. On to Snopes.com to do a little fact finding. http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/household/cellphones.asp Don't newspapers check their sources??? Since when do editors let slip by a chain e-mail?? I understand mistakes, but give me a break! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

    Mama Mia!

For sure! I caught myself laughing at different parts during this movie. Meryl is priceless in the way she completely owns this character. I think she really enjoyed the role and it comes out in the way she carries it. You're right, however. Chick flick. You'll smile and laugh out loud with Mama Mia. If you want a story that's pretty straight forward this is for you. The Dark Knight may be a bit more of an intrigue. Perhaps I'll catch that this weekend... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

    Mama Mia!

Went out and saw Mama Mia today and have to say I was impressed with the production! Meryl Streep was surrounded by a very talented cast, especially her 2 women friends who surprised me with their energy and amusing lines. The choreography was impressive and extremely creative. Pierce Brosnan also sang! (he was a bit humble and a tad chagrined on David Letterman about that earlier this week). I've never seen the play, but IMHO this movie is a must see. You'll come out of it smiling and laughing. The end scenes (just pre-credit) are priceless! I think they were having a HOOT of a time! Definitely one for the DVD collection when it comes out. If not for the story (which is good) but for the scenes with Meryl that just stole the show! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
