  1. Slept in. Fixed and devoured a wonderful brunch. Hitting the DZ to pick up my repacked rig during the warmer hour of the day. Perhaps a movie tonight. Christmas shopping is already completed, and the packages wrapped under the tree. Cleaning the house for family next week can wait.... 2. Being in the health care industry, in a rather poor part of the county, our bonus this year was a $20 Target gift card. We had to contribute cash into the Christmas Party fund if we wanted to attend, though. In the 18+ years I've been a therapist I've only worked one place that gave a bonus. It was a private clinic that actually (I discovered in the few months I worked there) committed fraud with their billing practices. Once this became apparent I gave my resignation and got the heck outta there. I'd rather have a clear conscience than rake in a bonus if that's what it takes... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  3. You mean as in fighting radical Islam? woohoo... this is gonna be fun... Think you may have missed the point. See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Jackson#Attack_and_assassination_attempt ltdiver Nope... Quade said, "Jefferson;" not, Jackson. My bad. You talking about the free shoes "W" just obtained recently? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  7. Not sure if you're a troll or just an old-time skydiver, but the terms you used (spock, daffies, etc) ARE terms used in today's skydiving world. Check out the world of modern freeflying and you'll understand. btw, why would -anyone- in their right mind get ABOVE another skydiver at a known pull (or AAD) altitude? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  8. Hey, that link has been deleted. I'd like to read what others have experienced with this. My Mac was slow, but not compromised. Seems that Mac's using Safari weren't affected? ltdiver No, it's still there. I locked it to keep the discussion contained in a single thread. There's a little info from users on Rockclimbing.com, too: http://www.rockclimbing.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2037976; May be there for you, but not for me. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  12. School was cancelled for a couple of days here in SoCal this past month because of all the smoke from the fires. It really was so thick it was raining ash for miles! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  15. If you're into studying the psychology of skydiving and skydivers, you may find this book an interesting read. By all your researching and posting here it appears you are into this aspect fairly deep. Mental Training for Skydiving and Life Taken from an original 'whuffo' view and written by our pro team's sports psychologist. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

    butt itch

Don't even -try- to go there. I've worked with a few paraplegic cases that had absolutely NO mechanical trauma that caused their disability. Spinal abscess with insidious onset, which left them with permanent irreversible paralysis of the limbs. Not a pretty picture. I'm adding my vote for you getting to a doctor ASAP. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  17. Feel free to invest. It's just not in my budget. (and people still bitch about paying a cameraflyer for qualified footage, but that's another thread not this one). ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  18. X2. Any competitive cameraflyer normally flys 2 cameras for competitions. So this cost analysis needs to be multiplied by a factor of 2. If the FAI decides to upgrade their requirements to only allow the 1080i format I'll be bowing out of one of my favorite parts of this sport. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  20. So was Ted Kaczynski. He didn't use a firearm either. High intelligence and/or education are not necessarily good indicators of stable personality. Often quite the opposite, actually. However, their brilliance let them build and perform their task with accuracy and success. Most 'wackos' aren't that smart and will fail in their attempts. That was the point of my post. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  21. Actually it's "The Gods Must Be Crazy". A very funny and creative movie. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  22. Of course such a thing is totally, utterly and in all other ways inconceivable. These 5 men were brilliant in their field. One was a highly regarded doctor of medicine, one was an expert in Artificial Intelligence, and the other three were physicists. A bit more bright than the normal 'wackos' of the world. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  24. Quoted from here I know that just because it's in the dictionary doesn't make it true, however the dictionary uses Buddism in reference to naming it as a religion. Perhaps Websters needs to bone up on what a particular sect calls itself? Definition of Religion "2. a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects: the Christian religion; the Buddhist religion." ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
