    Bonehead

Just wait until next year. They've been receiving alot of comments like yours (and mine) and have a beauty getting ready to debut soon.
  3. Same distance it is from home to work...just in the exact opposite direction. Takes me 35 minutes either way @ ~80mph. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  4. Uh, that's my point exactly. A Californian was forgetting about someone in Sweden....on the other side of the globe. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  5. Forgot about the other part of the world, huh? J/K ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  6. If you do a search on this forum, you'll see that this camera has been discussed at length. The web site: dpreview has a fairly good write up on it as well. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  7. I'll be there flying my new digital camera set-up. Might be doing 16-way if enough people show up to make a 3rd team, otherwise look for me trying to get others to geek the camera. Haven't played in a long time...this'll be fun! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  8. Tagalog is one of the major languages spoken in the Philippines. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  9. Why don't you tell him the one about the manhole covers? (I'd post a workable direct link to help ya out, but it seems that the old link is dead.) ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  10. 64. Hey, how did they know my birth year?! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  11. Verizon SUCKS at connection quality at my house. AT&T is the only one with half-way decent quality here. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  12. O.K., I bow to PhreeZone. I -just- got back from work and didn't see the word "World...CRW" in any title on Talk Back. Geeze, can't Phree choose a more direct title to a thread? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  13. The post was 'stuck' over in the CRW forum with only one reply in 2 days! Thought I'd give it a boost and bring it into a more frequented place. They deserve all the recognition and applause we can give! They have more guts, flying so close with so many other open canopies, than I'll ever have. Congratulations team!!! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  14. Amazing! Take a look!!! 64-way! Awesome pictures, too!
  15. Hey! I like ketchup on eggs! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  16. Yeah, it would be nice to bring a note next time it looks like I've had a questionable weekend activity. Write it up and I'll hand carry it back to the hospital on Monday... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  17. Really? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  18. Thank you, dear friend. Have you ever heard the saying, "You are what you hang around"? Truer than true. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  19. Sorry I wasn't clear in my post before. I meant to say that I hadn't run across bigots against -any- race while in skydiving circles. I pick the friends I hang around, as they have traits that translate into other admirable qualities as well...not just acceptance of all other races and cultures as equals. I'm sorry that there are others out there who aren't as accepting. They end up missing alot out of life. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  20. Welcome home, Eric! I'm sure it feels SO good... So, what was your very first meal back at the ranch? (I always ask this of my patients. It's interesting to see their eyes light up as they think about this 'reward' waiting for them at the end of their hospital journey)
  21. What don't you like about it? 1) Don't like the wider f/stop that is needed to allow for proper exposure. It seems that your depth of field is reduced at least 2 f/stops even in full sun. 2) Don't like the fact that you don't have a reading for focal length written on the lens. 3) Don't like it's plastic manufacturing 4) Don't like that it won't fit ANY other Canon camera 5) Don't like that it's "Infinity Setting" isn't good for -anything- closer than the far away horizon a mile away. You -have- to bring it a bit closer to even get a subject 50 feet away. Even if they're NOT moving, the chance they will be in crisp focus is a crap shoot. Even with 'auto-focus'. The 20mm Canon lens doesn't have any of these faults and gives MUCH higher quality pictures, IMHO. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  22. Turkey? What turkey? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  23. The sound reminds me of when we make popcorn in the microwave at work. All except we try and avoid the big bang! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  24. Get a different lens than what comes in the kit, though. I'm not happy with that one and went for a more quality lens in the Canon 20mm. Sure it's ALOT heavier, but the quality and perameters available make up the difference by far. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  25. Absolutely true. I, too, have a Spectre loaded at about 1.3:1 which I use for everything. From cameraflying, to RW student work, to my PRO rating and jumps. You can pack it like shit and it -still- will take care of you. You should have SEEN some of the pack jobs I gave my canopy in that 25-30 knot wind we had at Perris this weekend! And it still opened nice and took care of me and my neck. As for the neck position on deployment. Yes, keep eyes level and ahead, preparing to avoid other jumpers on EVERY dive you make. Again, just this weekend, we had a very long spot (spotted by a VERY experienced skydiver who I trusted to get us within range of the DZ). He was the one tracking -away- from the DZ on break-off as well. He tracked short and pulled high! Just about 100 feet in front of me (and I opened facing away from the DZ...facing him...because that is what line of flight had been on exit!). I was so very happy to have a nice deployment and was able to grab my risers, turn, and avoid a potential collision. Oh, and yes, this 'spotter, high experienced skydiver' was flying a high wing loaded elliptical canopy. He would have closed the gap VERY fast had I given it time to do so. Just another story to make aspiring cameraflyers THINK. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
