  1. Thanks, but not wanting to sign in to yet another site. Care to copy and paste here? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  2. I -still- want to meet this person who's masquerading as me. So many people seem to have met and posted with her! LTDIVER Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  3. Incredible! You know that we're all extremely jealous of you now. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  4. Which tunnel? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  5. Thanks, Tom. I've looked at several speaker sets and had settled with just using my iTrip with any stereo available where I'm at. Works great, but there may be a time that there won't be a stereo available. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  6. Here's one just for you then, Tim. http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/asiapcf/01/01/tsunami.babies.ap/index.html ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  7. Understood, Bill. Thanks for the first hand account of what you know of 3rd world communication. I just heard a wonderful report this evening. About a young British girl who, when she saw the receding tide notified her mother what she had learned in school about this. They alerted the people on the beach...plus the resort complex they were staying at. Everyone fled upland and over 100 people were saved. Then there is the story of the gypsies (who are looked down on by the locals there). They had their training handed down to them from their forefathers about this same thing. They passed it on and over 180 people from one village was saved. News travels fast. One person can tell a group and that group tells more and lives are saved. And these are just 2 stories that I heard tonight. I'm sure more will surface. A little bit of goodness spread in all this tragedy. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  8. There were people in the know (from e-mail communication with the U.S.). Would it have been possible for them to alert the police and have trucks with bull horns drive up and down the beach? I mean, when we have a bomb scare....or something else that needs and area cleared, that's how we alert the masses of the area. Just a thought. And for this tragedy, too late. However, for the future? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  9. I was listening to NPR radio yesterday morning, where they were interviewing a man from Sri Lanka. A native there. He said that they had a saying there that everyone knew..."When you feel the earth tremble, run for the mountains". He adhered to this saying and thus saved his life. He couldn't understand why others didn't....especially when the tide swept out and people ran out to pick up the stranded fish on the beach! He knew better than this, and believed that it was common knowledge to be wary of this happening. It is all so very sad. We picked up the seismic activity in CO and NY. E-mails were flying back and forth from here to down there. Where did it get stuck? THIS needs to get fixed! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  10. Well, I didn't until just now. One must have hit the powerlines and shut the power off to the neighborhood. Glad I have battery back-up for my computer! I have 30 minutes to properly shut this system down before it runs out (or the power turns back on). ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  11. Uh. Sorry. Your profile said "Japan" as your place of residence. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  12. What's your weather there in Japan today? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  13. My neighbors were shooting off fireworks at midnight! Awesome sight! I stood outside, wine glass in hand, and shouted right along with them!!! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  14. Second glass of wine in hand here, girl! Happy New Year, Ev!
  15. FINALLY got an e-mail response from my cousin's husband (who is a bush pilot in Indonesia). Part of the e-mail addresses the devastation visited upon that part of the world and his involvement in the rescue/restore mission. They are safe and were outside the tsunami zone at the time of its occurrence. They've been working around the clock, helping where they can. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  16. Yep, 2005 is here in CA! Happy New Year!!! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  17. A neighbor of mine had one. We marveled at the clarity and wanted to get one ourselves! We were very poor, though, and decided food was a better option than buying a laser disc player. Back then we rented the VHS player at the same time we rented the VHS tapes at the Supermarket. Ah, the memories! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  18. Inborn timers or external ones? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  19. Yeah. 59 degrees it says on my back porch here. It was pouring down rain until about an hour ago...finally got out of the house and got my Christmas decorations down. Tried to get some weeding done but all the weeds did was slop around and bend. Mud was that slippery. Sky's blue now but the ground's so wet that I'd love to skydive...that is all except the landings. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  20. YIKES! I was thinking of a timer. Now I'm sure. Thanks. Exploding coffee pots are not a pleasant thing, me thinks. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  21. Question for the coffee wise.... We have a new coffee maker in our business office. No timer. What would happen if we forgot to turn it off at night and it didn't have much coffee in it (or none at all). Fire hazzard? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  22. You and my sister as well. She's collected, I surmize, about 300 VHS and now has added over 200 DVD's to her collection. Some of them duplicates. Glad she has the money! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
