I keep getting an "internal server" error when I try to update my DZ listing, Gold Coast Skydivers, Moss Point, MS. We now have a Super Otter rather than a Beech 99 and jumps are $18 to 15,000 feet. Thanks! Mike Igo, DZO

1) Do you think the uspa is doing a good job? A fair job. There are certain aspects that pertain to the jumpers in general that have been overlooked. 2) Do you feel membership dues are a good value for the money? Yes 3) Do you feel they are looking out after "joe upjumper"? No. The recent debacle over the 120-180 reserve repack extension is really good indicator of how the USPA has become a Drop Zone Operator group, while leaving the regular up jumpers out in the cold. 4) what would you like to see them do that they are not doing now? Use rec.skydiving on a regular basis. They will say "but we have a website". I use Sprint PCS to access the web from my truck. Do you have any idea how long it takes (not to mention how much it costs) to load a *single* html page? Usenet is a much more effective means of electronic communication, it's already there, and it's free. What more could they ask for? 5) How do you feel about the group member program? Simple. It has been losing money, and it is NOT in the bounds of "To keep skydivers skydiving", so, ditch it. Burn it up. Toss it. Whatever, just get rid of it. 6) what do you feel they doing that they should not be doing now? Asking any questions whatsoever to the Group Members that would effect the General Membership. Can anyone say conflict of interest? 7) Do you really care what the uspa does? Yes 8) Do you feel that swooping should be added to the nationals? In the light of the past and recent deaths do to misjudged turns and flares under high performance canopys, I would have to say no. A competition for swooping, if included in the nationals, would be won by the big names, that's a given. The problem is, if it were made a category, it would give that many more jumpers a reason to start hooking. Do we really need that at this time? This is supposed to be fun, remember? Even the Nationals started out as a fun competition. Now it seems you need mega sponsors, and the ability to jump full time for training just to get on the board. I say scale *back* the nationals, and raise the levels of small to midsize boogies. Let's bring the fun back, before we lose everything. Oh, yea. Hi Bill. You got my vote, so far. Let's see if you can keep it!

Awww, you people are lucky. All I found was a bunch of geaneology stuff. OK, i just found out I got hired on my birthday last year as Maintenence I at FIFE School District #417 (oooh, yea, i'm in the money now, lol) Well, I guess this is cool. I'm also a Drummer for the band "Caustic Resin" Ever heard of them? Me either. Rev Jim A-39869 "It's just what I do..."

What's the dumbest thing you've done while jumping
Deleted replied to prepheckt's topic in The Bonfire
Last fall at Skydive Illinois. I had a hard pull, three tries and silver. In the landing pattern by 1000 feet (some guys there said they think the reserve pilot chute cleared my back at about 1500). No big deal, right? Wrong! It was rental gear, that I had packed, and I neglected to follow, or even look around for the freebag, I was just happy to be alive! Well, after about 2 hours of walking the fields, I finally found it, and managed to get another jump in. I shudder to think how many jump I could have made in the time it took me to find that damn freebag! (Hopefully there will not be a next time, but in case...) Next time I'm following the damn freebag! Rev Jim A-39869 "It's just what I do..." -
Is it true that Purdue cheerleaders don't wear underwear under the skirts??? Anyway, I'll be there through the entire convention, and if you have an extra t-shirt and slot, I'll join. Just look for the all Black jumpsuit with the white collar, under the pink Sabre (Don't say it Clay, I've already heard it all) Rev Jim A-39869 "It's just what I do..."

Nah, that wasn't Clay's. That is the aura and mystique of my birth transcending the years and generations, coming to manifest itself here on Dropzone.com. See? I really am important! Rev Jim A-39869 "It's just what I do..."

Just get out and do it. I started in 98, (11 jumps), did just 2 currency jumps in 99, none at all in 00, and finally got back in the saddle sept 01. Closing in on "C" qual now. Yea, the door jitters were there pretty bad for the first couple, but I solved that really quick......I just spotted 4-5 C 205 loads.....got my concentration where is should have been. (YOU give a bad spot to a plane load, and you'll have much more than butterflies to worry about!) Rev Jim A-39869 "It's just what I do..."

First off, I totally agree with the post that said go to www.fathers.org as it will give you alot of information you can use on your behalf. Now, for the reccomendations (from experience). Fight! Go to court! You must! I thought along the lines, like you said, about chipping away, over 11 years ago. Biggest friggin mistake I have made my entire life. I didn't have the funds to pursue it through the court system, and she ended up with full legal AND physical custody. In the order visitation was written as "mutually agreeable visitation". Yea, Right. That basically means that if I want to see my 1st born son, I have to ask, like months in advance, and even then, she can change her mind at any time for any reason. This is the reason I have been unable to see him in a little over 2 years. (Yes, I'm finally dragging her, kicking and screaming, back into family court). Basically man, DO NOT GIVE UP, at any point, or any time. The long term effects of stopping now, if even for a short time, set a precedent for the future procedings. Once she has custody, the only was to get it back is to PROVE her an unfit mother. Does the child have clothes, food, and a roof? If the answer is yes to all 3, and the custody has already been determined, you'll never get it back. And people wonder why I got ordained.... Rev Jim A-39869 "It's just what I do..."
