I went out to inspect this vehicle. I thought for sure it was a fatality. I didn't have a chance to review the file. I of course don't ask the guy because it might be emotional if it was. I knew it wasn't him because it was a female driving. The guy invites me into the house to get some documents. There she is on the couch with 2 busted legs but ok otherwise.

Good idea, but I just wouldn't be able to get myself to say that in a courtroom Melissa How bad do want out of that ticket?

Funny.. I know Brooke and I remember the first time I had any kind of conversation with some substance behind it. He was showing me how to pack my hornet. I was thinking about you the other day Deuce. Jump number 86. Me, you, richard, and Lisa. We did a 4 way and M2 and another really nice gentleman flying camera. I was on my first 4 way with you guys and had no clue what I was doing. I had been Freeflying since I was off student status. I endend up on my back on exit and was so stiff and nervous. The whole thing funneled and I was so pissed at myself. I was ready to hang it up or become a freeflier. Not a bad thing but I really wanted to do RW. I asked you to sign my log book and you read what I wrote and gave me a great pep talk. Lisa (mouth) took me on a great 2-way on jump 90 and brought my confidence up. You guys were terrific. After that I decided to leave San Diego and go where I could find training. For me it was Lake Elsinore and I really began to grow and love the sport. I always wanted to thank you guys for that. I always thought I'd run into you guys sometime and have the opportunity. I'd like to say thanks now and I'll buy the beers when I see you guys next. I always think about you guys when I'm at perris and see shark. I remember that being a turning point for me. Cheers guys, Ed

I had to think about my feelings on this one. When I first heard about the Adria's incident I was honestly like "well that's sad". I only talked to her a few times and it was never more than a "How was your jump?" or "How ya doin'?" I saw her at the DZ all the time. Then I remembered sitting across from her on loads and just cracking a smile. I remembered just that greeting of hi or how was you jump with a smile attached to it. The sadness was a little deeper and there was a greater sense of loss. Myself, I don't know how to handle death well. I'm getting older tho and I've had to deal with it more in the last few years. I always felt like I had to do or say something profound for it to make a difference. Over the years I have found that a simple prayer and a condolence is all that is really needed. Maybe there are those that just don't know what to do when someone dies. Ed
