I know it seems hard, but you really need to just make a clean break of it. It's kind of like taking a Band-Aid off, it doesn't hurt immediately as much as just ripping it off, but that small pain goes over a much longer amount of time when just ripping it off would have meant the pain was over and the healing can begin. As for him being everywhere.....well my X-husband and I worked for the same companies for the last 6 years. Went threw the separation, divorce and his re-marriage with him just down the hall. Even now he works for the company that is next door, I still see him all the time and we have been divorced 2 1/2 years now. Trust me after the first few months you just become numb to him being there, then you don't even notice him. As for him being at the DZ it will be hard at first, but trust me time does heal all wounds and you will be able to see him and laugh at what a fool he is.

Well I think it's more that some guys aren't just nice, but are more doormats. I have a pretty bossy personality, and a guy that just rolls over for me drives me nuts. So they usually don't last very long with me. On the other hand one that will stand up for himself will gain major bonus points with me. You have heard the saying confidence is sexy, well it goes for both guys and girls. btw.....It's ok to tell me no, just as long as when it's all said and done you know I'm right.

Ok most of those were really funny, and I can so relate on those late night pager calls when you have had 6 cups of coffee and other than that odd buzzing sound in your head that doesn't go away even when you leave the server room everything is in a fog. But some of those were like watching a train wreck.

ummmm.....you are setting yourself up for the track record of one who will be on a x-brased in about a year. Ok who wants to take the bet that 1 year from now we will see clay on here asking about FXs.

Well compared to other canopies of it's class the stiletto has a fairly short recovery arch, which I know you are used to, but when you eventually go x-braced you will scare the shit out of yourself. Actually a guy who usually jumps a cobalt scared the shit out of himself when he jumped my crossfire because of how after he let off the front risers all it wanted to do was keep diving. If the crossfire bothers you, you may want to also look at a nitron if you are buying new that is.

At least it gives you a message and you don't have to reboot the whole box, you just have to restart certain processes. I always laughed at the NT guys they would have a server problem it was down for 4-5 hrs, we would have a sun server problem down max 30 min. (it might have been limping along, but damn it it was up.)

Also check out http://www.techtv.com it's a channel that is local here and very addictive. Plus the site has lots of information, including stupid stuff like how to change that little icon on the top right side of your IE browser.

Well I'll tell you want I think of it on Monday if Derek's heatwave 100 comes in. I also should have jumped my stilletto 97 this weekend so I should be able to do a good write up comparing the heatwave to the cobalt, crossfire, and stilletto. Ofcourse my wingloading on all of the above canopies will have been between 1.2 and 1.3, so not quite as high as yours.

hahah....yeah we had gotten a price quote for 2 of those, I about fell out of my chair. I couldn't beleive you actually have to go to special training for them or they won't sell it to you. All I was thinking was.."so that is why they got rid of the free snacks". The company ended up not getting them cause a co-worker and myself were able to prove that there was no need that an E420 with arrays and clustering was alot cheaper and could do the job just as well.

FYI....sony's are almost 100% proprietary which makes them a bitch to upgrade or replace messed up parts. On the other hand they look cool

Oh my!!! I didn't realize his wingloading would be that high. Clay we all know you are a jedi knight, but have you jumped anything other than your PD-190? You really need to do this the right way if you want to be able to say 1000 jumps down the road you don't have any injuries. Do some jumps on a ZP square, then downsize, then change canopy types. Why introduce alot of things that individually can get you hurt or worse. You have under 200 jumps, there is no reason to hurry, you can easily demo to help with the downsize instead of doing it in one HUGE jump.

You haven't seen the HUGE compaqs Proliant 7000 in our POP/Server Room, they are actually bigger, our biggest sun is a E420 with 2 processors and either 1 or 2 gigs of ram. (can't remember off the top of my head. Our sun shop is very streamlined with some E420s and E220s but mostly the Netra line of T1s and a few 1120

Ah true.......and you are right we have about 30 sun machines and like 100 NT machines that do less or at least less of a load than the sun machines.
