    Kiss pass

That's called a cypress fire I beleive. You know I jump at Mile-hi now and I have no idea who loopysteph is, of course I'll feel really bad if I met her and didn't put 2 and 2 together. (that equals 5 right?)
  2. I know it has something to do with the fact that you are falling faster, on my belly now without lead my fallrate is right around 125 vs. 114 in Houston. Also, I've noticed that the snivel which usually was, nice and smooth, is now very erratic and jumps around alot and causing wild off heading openings. I now have to harness steer through the openings when before I just kind of laid there enjoying the ride.
  3. Maybe I should ask it better. How hard is it to get to the O2, so far I've noticed that although it is on the plane it's a pain to get to. Still debating about heading down there though due to the smoke from the fire. Last thing I need is to have another asthma attack.
  4. Everything bikerbabe said, and I will add that little things are more noticable. Like in Houston I had a feeling my brake lines were to long, but it was no big deal I could work with it, came to Denver and ended up shortening them. You definately loose more altitude in a turn, and in normal flight. I would say coming from Houston to Mile-hi it definately felt like I downsized 2 sizes and that was on a weekend when it was in the 80s I've been told it will be even faster on weekends when it's in the upper 90s, instead of 5000MSL it will feel more like 9000MSL or one size smaller. Now, I have opted to not upsize since my last landings were perfectly fine and flat turns and flare turns did not change from sea level, but I am dreading after jumping up here a few months and going down back to Houston to visit friends thinking my canopy is a dog.
  5. isn't it the other way around....Reserve, yes, but not necessary on a main.
  6. Hey do they have o2 on the plane there, having some breathing problems from all the smoke so I know I'll be needing it if I come down to meet wingie. Oh and from what I've heard is they are another 1000 ft higher...woo hoo....another downsize....ummmm....oh yeah, I just got the hang of 5000MSL *DOAH*
  7. SWEET!!! not only do I date a rigger so I don't ever have to worry about my canopy needing an oil change. He is also going to be my house boy who will allow me to not have to worry about my car needing an oil change
  8. Ummm....I love to jump hooknswoop As for planes....CASA CASA CASA
  9. hint: look at the brake lines when packing it. They should be different lengths compared to your old one where they were the same length. Check the warning label on the top of the canopy it should say safire 2.

    Denver??

I'm still here alive and kicking although I am packing up all important things and getting the pet carriers ready...I live NW of denver about 20 miles so it's still pretty far south of me. But as dry as it is and as windy I'm not taking any chance, cause if it does hit the city it's going to move fast. It was very odd yesterday with all the smoke in the city you couldn't see a mile away, and then the clouds that the fire is producing, it really is true it's starting it's own weather system cause yesterday evening you could hear rumbling in the clouds. Anyway, if I have to make a run for it I'll have hooknswoop post an update.
  12. Come on you know better, we aren't borrowing it, we are just to lazy to pack our own rig and yours was packed. Of course that also means you now have 3 (your rig, my rig, your spare rig) rigs to pack rather than the one you just jumped.
  13. Hey it sounds like he talked to Derek about how to make your first jump into a new DZ. Although Derek does have the advantage of being a rigger and able to repack himself to get back on the plane 5 loads later. Although somehow I don't think you can tease him about it the same way as Derek was, "Hey boy, scared to land that 60 at 5k MSL?"

    Weekend numbers

0:0:0 No pookie bear. Fedex and smoke from the forest fires kept me on the ground all weekend.
  15. Oh and for the record this is all Steve at square 1's fault. So lisa you get to kick his ass again
  16. Hey you are better off than I am. I was suppose to be out at the DZ today, but instead I was playing the run around game with fedex who first lost my package that was suppose to have been delivered yesterday via. 2 day express, then they found it, then they lost it, then it was found and it was to be delivered by noon today, then it was lost again, then it was found, go to the delivery center to pick it up, oops they can't find it, not sure where it is, call us in an hr, call us in another hr, ummm...it's almost 5 and we close at 5, I'm sure we will find it before monday and deliver it then....grrrrrr.....Fedex has been added to my short list of companies I refuse to deal with ever again, only other company on that list is Qwest.
  17. How do you know it will be an easy divorce. What if he doesn't want to let you go and fights it, turns it into a long drawn out battle. If you 2 are worried about money, well then just live together, actually it's cheaper to live together than be married as long as the marriage tax is still in effect. (aka. filing income taxes as married vs. as single) Really think about this, cause there is no need to put yourself through that trauma and that is exactly how a divorce is to your psyche. Oh and don't forget that once you are married his debt becomes your debt and if he shouldn't make it due to his health problems you are the one stuck with paying all his medical bills. Actually from your last few posts about him buying you a rig and then later a ring, it almost sounds like he is trying to buy you, is that what you really want your relationship based on, monetary and emotional debts? I’m 27 and also have be divorced and for me unless I have his love free and clear and 100% there is no way I’ll get married again.
  18. Lets see as myself only my web page is listed, and with my maiden name it’s listed on some ND foundation page that they gave me a grant for college. This is scary, supposedly there is a Kelli Spell (exact same first name spelling me) in Nederland, Tx who is a 5th grade reading teachers, and I've (she's)signed a bunch of guest books. That’s just odd 2 Kelli Spell’s in TX…good thing I moved. as Kelly Spell cause my first name is misspelled a lot -I'm a Reality Combat Judge, -A home appraiser, -Found out the Bismarck Tribune misspelled my name on my Dad's Obit, -I'm on the board of the metropolitan sewerage district not sure where but I had a lot to say about odor control -I was screwed over why buying an RV -As my maiden last name I’m some kind of Vice-President in ND…..damn it I knew I should have gone there than CO…..NOT!!
  19. Hmmm....since I started skydiving I've dated 1 wuffo, it didn't work out, not because I was skydiving, but because he decided to spend a year traveling abroad in Asia. Other than that I've only dated skydivers, and it can be really awkward when you break up and still jump at the same DZ especially if it was a bad break up. Of course a week from Monday is Derek’s and mine’s 1 year anniversary so skydiving relationships can definitely work out, it does help though that we have other interests in common besides skydiving, like biking, hiking, and camping. Cause if all you have in common is skydiving you will eventually get bored with nothing else to talk about.
  20. So you're putting the frap hat on your student...right?
  21. Yep, you definately deserve it. Although I would have liked seeing you take that porsche for a test drive.
  22. You just have to jump naked.
  23. Yeah like that will ever happen. On the other hand I'm wondering if that is why the pub is up all the time now, I have noticed that it seems like there is less posting when everyone is in there chatting, which has kind of become a nightly thing now.

    Denver??????

Actually I'm pretty sure the cost of living here is less than in CA. It is also ranked as the most expensive city not on a cost, so your guess is better than mine. Remember I'm comparing to Houston. Lets see renting is very resonable, buying is not. Food is a little more expensive, most things are the same. Actually the biggest difference has been food prices, well and other day to day things are more expensive also. Go to target and spend $70 in Houston will run you about $100 here. Lets see I now have to pay property tax on my car, and if it's possible my insurance actually went up. Of course from what I've heard of CA it's a drop in the bucket.
  25. Ummm...zennie, I don't think you've hung out with enough drunk skydivers. [whisper] We usually get kicked out of bars[/whisper]
