That California uses too much energy and should have slid off into the ocean by now? Cali uses too much energy because too many Texans have relocated here! yeah but that is offset by all the Cali's who moved to CO Fly it like you stole it!

Only 6 rigs.....how weak, We currently have 8 or 9 rigs(not ours), laying around the dining room table, and then of course there is the waist deep pile of our gear parts and peices in our spare room closet (it's a walk-in). Congrats Amy....now don't let Bill make you pack for him. Fly it like you stole it! -
Well I'm not saying it's the healthiest, but when I'm sick I always crave carbs in the form of pasta and rice. I'm guessing it's cause my body need quick energy to help fight the bad bugs. I'm one of those people that if I crave something it must be something my body needs (ie, meat=protien, milk products=calcuim), since I don't crave sweets or anything like that.....I just want those. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20030326/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/california_power_ferc *** WASHINGTON - Federal energy regulators said Wednesday that their investigation found widespread manipulation of natural gas and electricity prices and supplies in California. Pat Wood, chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (news - web sites), said that as a result of the manipulation California would receive more than the $1.8 billion in refunds recommended by a FERC judge in December. The exact amount is to be determined in the coming months. The FERC singled out seven subsidiaries of bankrupt Enron Corp. and five other companies for taking advantage of a dysfunctional market and reaping millions of dollars in unjust profits. "The price gouging abounded," Commissioner William Massey said. He said he regretted that FERC did not intervene earlier to police the newly deregulated power market in California. The agency is considering placing limits on the profits of four marketers of wholesale power and banning eight gas companies from selling natural gas in California, Wood says. The investigation also found a close link between natural gas and electricity prices. Gas is the fuel at many power plants. After a 13-month investigation, FERC concluded "that many trading strategies employed by Enron and other companies violated the anti-gaming provisions" of marketing rules. "Enron manipulated thinly traded physical markets to profit in financial markets," FERC said, estimating that Enron made more than $500 million in online trading in 2000 and 2001. FERC investigators recommended that the companies be forced to give up unfairly earned profits. The energy crisis cost the state as much as $45 billion over two years in higher electricity costs, lost business due to blackouts and a slowdown in economic growth, according to the Public Policy Institute of California. Shortcomings in California's energy market rules and a shortage of electricity stemming from the lack of hydropower in the Northwest in 2000 "made this fertile ground for the manipulation we found," said Donald Gelinas, who headed FERC's investigation. The regulatory agency capped wholesale power prices across the West and instituted other changes in June 2001 that brought a quick end to the energy crisis. A FERC administrative law judge has since found that California was overcharged $1.8 billion for power. Wood ordered an investigation in February 2002 after California officials repeatedly charged energy marketers with gouging California's utilities and its customers. Two months later, FERC obtained an internal Enron memo that described trading strategies, including sham transactions and other schemes aimed at creating congestion on the Western power grids and forcing up prices. Two former Enron traders have pleaded guilty to federal charges stemming from the trading strategies. The memo indicated that other companies had similar strategies, but provided no details. Energy companies have largely denied wrongdoing. Separately, California last week agreed to a settlement with El Paso Corp., for $1.7 billion, ending a dispute over whether the company withheld natural gas from California to drive up prices. Many California power plants use natural gas. Fly it like you stole it!

Yeah I kow a girl who got a canopy from him and tried to cut the lable off herself. Ended up cutting the canopy and then have to get it patched. So if you want it removed, it's best to have a rigger do it. Fly it like you stole it!

What not to do (how the Aggie almost died)

You know, I just got flamed by two other people in the swooping for saying the exact same thing. Tell them to read the incedents report in Parachutist January 2002. Fly it like you stole it! -

oops just went back and read this. I'm not the biggest girl in the world and I have gotten out of spinning line twists 5 or 6 times in the last year by using the even your links method, all it took was a simple harness shift to make it fly strait (of course since I am smaller the odds of me over amping are slimmer), it takes A LOT less strength than pulling down on a front riser or even doing a rear riser turn. Of course this is the biggest reason someone with low jump numbers should not be flying an elliptical, they don't have the understanding of how much altitude is lost in a turn and then end up cutting away at 200 ft. Your example fatality is an example of what I'm talking about. From Parachutist: Number of Jumps: 70 Main: PD Stiletto 135 Wing Loading: ~1.26 Fly it like you stole it! -
Kelli, From what I heard both the Lamar boogie and Brush had the Casa for the same weekend. Kind of a mix up I guess. Check with Pat and see if he's still got it lined up for the Boogie down south. (wanted to get in here before the thread gets locked. Never been in a locked thread) You mean there is another boogie on April 20th? Damn I never get these emails. And who is Pat? Fly it like you stole it!

Well Brush here in CO lost the CASA for their boogie. Fly it like you stole it!

You know I was actually taught in my 1st jump course that 1500 ft is you final decision altitude. You have to make your decision and cutaway by then. I even remember a guy on student status who had broken lines talking about it around the bonfire that night say, "I saw 1500 ft coming up and decided to chop". Fly it like you stole it! -
or it could be your gf is the computer wiz and doesn't allow you to have admin rights cause she knows you are going to load something on, hose the whole system up so bad that she has no choice but to rebuild it. Fly it like you stole it!

Well think of it this way. Every day that cypres is burning it's life up. In a year it will be that much closer to be not worth anything and you basically threw away money buying it while it sat on a shelf loosing value. Fly it like you stole it!

Maybe they ment 9 in the last year.....that is how most of the guys I know are. well, it takes two, right? so wouldn't the numbers be similar (or are there a few really tired women out there?

You can get most the serial numbers for stuff in the reserve container off your packing data card, only thing not on there is freebag serial number. If you want it tell Derek at the next repack and he will give it to you. Fly it like you stole it!

This is part of the reason I made a really nice Customer Database for our Loft/Skydive the Rockies Loft. It not only has all the customer information, but it also has all the serial numbers of reserves, containers, AADs, and in some cases mains(if we worked on them or had to open the D-bag). I know way to many jumpers who don't know their serial numbers and if something like this happened to them they would be SOL when reporting it to the police. Fly it like you stole it!
