  2. guess who "DZ.com woohoo" is with a 0.03 accuracy? MB 3528, RB 1182
  3. I'm pretty sure the "D" stands for Deustchland (Germany)... the rest is just coincidental... Anybody notice the German flag near the top of the tail? or the D could stand for Dournier, the manufacturer. I wonder what the rest stands for? MB 3528, RB 1182
  4. can you explain why it would create a horseshoe ?? Never jumped S/L myself, so need some explanation. well if he let go, the s/l will open the chute under his back. if he's lucky, the pilot chute will go around him rather then through his arms or legs. if hes not lucky, it goes around an arm or leg, and the canopy deploys with him attached. MB 3528, RB 1182
  5. Unless the cypres fires on climbout, damages the plane, and it crashes. People may or may not die in that kind of accident. Is that unlikely scenerio? Yes. But possible. And I'd rather take the chance of some idiot going in on a no-pull vs the plane going down and possible multiple deaths. MB 3528, RB 1182
  6. I'm tossing a student on their first Static Line jump, when they climb out onto the strut, they somehow slip, and switch grips. They are now hanging upside down under the strut, with the static line on their opposite side. Basically if they let go right then its probably gonna be a horseshoe. And we are rapidly overflying the spot. I'm going wtf do i do now?!?! But i'll give him credit, he manages to climb from the strut upside down, back onto the step, then goes back onto the strut in the correct position and exits ok. MB 3528, RB 1182
  7. I haven't dived since this summer. 90 feet down off costa rica. I miss it MB 3528, RB 1182
  8. I think you're in the right on this one, kel. What the guy did wasn't illegal, but very immoral. And yes, everyone should research crap before they buy it. But is everyone perfect? No. and would everyone quit having childish arguements? geeezus. MB 3528, RB 1182
  9. these skyride assholes have been gathering information from this thread, and are using it in evidence during their counter-suit. check out the .pdf file in fact about half that suit comes from this thread. its literally refered to dozens of times. they are especially happy about quoting Makeithappen since they claim its the national director of uspa. But can they actually use it as evidence when in fact it could be anyone just faking? MB 3528, RB 1182
  10. at my DZ while the students are doing their coached jumps to get off student status, we get our slot paid for. Once they are off student status, they don't have to pay anyone anything for a coach jump. i usually try to get on everybodies first off-student status jump. its fun to do something easy and fun and watch the student nearly pee themselves with glee. 11. exactly. I nearly shot my friend with a .45 revolver that had misfired. It misfired on the 5th shot, so i thought i had been counting wrong and it was now empty. I pulled the trigger and surprise surprise, the 6th shot went off and nearly hit my friend in the leg. also my father who had been hunting for dozens of years, peppered me with a shotgun because he fired on birds and swung the gun around towards me and fired on them again. it seems stupid, but ALWAYS be careful with guns even if you just checked it. 12. I'm not too worried about blowing up useless tracts of uninhabited desert is the size of those craters indicative of a fission or fusion(H-bomb) bomb? MB 3528, RB 1182
  13. How does one "wear a turkey"? check out the picture. its a turkey decoy we had out at the DZ, attached to a protec with a lot of tape. MB 3528, RB 1182
  14. yes, kansas is basically all a SOFA MB 3528, RB 1182
  15. nah even uninstalling my old one and downloading a new one isn't working. the problem is that they aren't letting you download the newest version. you have to download the old version, and update it. my computer is screwing up during the update part. so i'm SOL unless someone has the .exe file for the update. MB 3528, RB 1182
  16. I got the idea from Aggiedave a long time ago. And finally got it done on my 400th last weekend! Originally, a buddy was going to dock on me wearing a turkey, so it would be a halloween/thanksgiving jump. But he couldn't get down to me, however you can still see his helmet in one of the pictures. I deployed with the pumpkin at 4k. Yeah and its a 92 sabre, so my neck hurt for the next few days. i pulled off the pumpkin under canopy and dropped it at about 1500. it really exploded when it hit. anyways, heres the pictures. They were taken by kansasskydiver. and they aren't centered perfectly because i was backsliding... but you try not backsliding wearing that getup. oh yes, it was 5 deg F at altitude. I am wearing 6 shirts and two pairs of pants in that photo. MB 3528, RB 1182
  17. wow. as they say in texas, "big girl will keep you warm in the winter, give you shade in the summer" MB 3528, RB 1182
  18. amen to that. asking about the legality is one thing, but copying down all his information and photos to get a fellow skydiver in trouble is wrong, wrong, wrong. MB 3528, RB 1182
  19. probably 300 outta my 400 jumps are out of a c182. try climbing outta a cessna when both pilot and co pilot seats are in. thats tons of fun sqeeeezing out. MB 3528, RB 1182
  20. my game won't update. i guess im screwed. everytime it tries to update i get an error in: d3d34916-301c-2c9e-b152-c5acfdf023b1.tmp.exe MB 3528, RB 1182
  21. scuba is different, exciting, and slightly dangerous. not replace the word "scuba" with "skydiving" and you see how they are related. MB 3528, RB 1182
  22. ah i just got on and it won't even let me download the update. it crashes. MB 3528, RB 1182
  23. I've done a onion, oranges, and a pumpkin. The pumpkin made one hell of a noise when it landed. and this weekend I did my 400th with a pumpkin. photos will be here soon!!! MB 3528, RB 1182
