they all point to the fact you open your mouth and don't know what you are talking about. You make yourself look much worse than my poor ability to add or detract from it....Hell, I don't have to do anything. I still can't believe you are being so small as to slam a guy for making a life choice. You again show you have no idea what you are talking about...And that you have no class. I am done here. OK... Yeah like leaving before he is dead/injured, or wanting to not see another person die. so you KNOW that huh? Well it seems you are quite condesending to a person you know nothing about...In a sport you know nothing about. And you with all that experience know better? there are more...But Im tired of you already. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Gee I kinda remember someone telling you that....I can't for the life of me remember his name? Be careful...You still have very little experience and are pushing the edge pretty hard. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Not a stupid question. If your instructors have not taught you this...find new instructors....And I'm not kidding. Static line or not you should know ALL the Malfunctions before you jump. I'm really not kidding, find new instructors. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Yet again you show that you know nothing about this sport. Perris is the best, your weak for quitting...Blah,blah, blah. Ya know you need to shut your lip and listen and learn more. I have a friend that quit with over 3500 jumps...Is he weak also? He accomplished more in this sport than you most likley ever will. Adam wants to quit...He made a hard choice. Much harder than slamming him for making it.. You really do kill me. Less than 200 jumps already broken a leg already, but you already "know it all". Tell me how you feel after a few friends bounce. Adam..Well......Uh....That kinda sucks. But it just shows that not everyone that thinks they will be jumping forever and do 10,000 jumps will. I respect your choice. You will get no flack from me about it. After 10 years you are not the first to leave...And I bet you will not be the last. If you ever decide to come back...The sky is waiting. It was there before you were jumping, and it will be there tomorrow. It and we will welcome you back. Blue Skies...Have a nice life. That must be some Sable....I bet it will blow the doors off my Mustang! Hey this is getting really close to being an Ad Bill. I have been a tunnel flier and advocate since 1998. Amazing. My next team will use the tunnel almost more than real jumping. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Not true, you have to hand prop J3's...I have done it several times. I have even hand proped a Cessna 152 when it's battery died. I have heard stories about using a rope and a truck to start a DC-3 here in Zhills back in the day. BTW the position he is in is the way to hand prop a J3 when you are by yourself. J.E. If you will not jump without them...Then you ARE dependant..by definition. If you have them but would jump without them...then you are not dependant. It really is that simple. And dependance is not really my issue..Substituting a cool saftey toy for training...Well that is my issue. It does not apply to everyone...But it applies more to the device dependant than the others. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Damn...Thats quite cool. 1. In school I was into acting...and was quite good I was told. 2. I'm a published poet. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Fat chance you will be able to cut the lines or the riser to cutaway the reserve.....Derrick tried to experiment to see if he could clear a lineover that way....I don't think he did very well with that. And that was the whole porpose of that jump....And he had like 2,000+ jumps when he tried it. Like I said "fat chance". The other options all depend on HOW fast you are decending. Is it good PLF fast? or your gonna die fast? If it looks really bad...Like body parts flying off after impact fast..Throw out everything you have. Just a quick question... Did someone you care about get hurt/killed? Did you see an injury? Life change? Kid? GF? Wife? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Helmets vs Cypres (was: Mid Air 3/20/04)
Ron replied to stateofnature's topic in Safety and Training
Or you could just avoid situations where that could happen. The best plan is to do both avoid the situation, and wear a helmet. Then also jump a bigger canopy than you want and have a CYPRES. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334 -
In skydiving someone saying "Damn you have small equipment" is a complement. I have never heard that in bed "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

I think about it all the time. One of my best friends gear is in my closet for sale. When our teammate bounced in 2002 it pretty much ended his desire to jump anymore. He did finish the year as a tribute. But he gave it all up after 3500 jumps. Derrick just quit. It happens all the time. Look around the DZ...Half those people will not be there in 5 years. If you are not enjoying it...Try something new...It MIGHT rekindle the desire. If not then there might be other issues you need to deal with. If it's Fear and you have decided deep down that its just not worth the risk anymore...Then you are done. No amount of new things will over come that fear. If you don't want to do it.. Don't the sport is to dangerous to be taken lightly. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Don't be sorry. You should have done a search first since this topi has been beaten to death. But did you learn something? If you did, don't be sorry.. There are no stupid questions. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

I don't care. It probably should not be in there...But I could just not say it if I felt that it was bad.. One Nation, under ---, indivisible with justice for all. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
