  1. Giving a WMD to OBL would have suited him politically. How about him trying to kill Bush Sr? Is that good enough for you? Maybe staments about our stomachs roasting in hell? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  2. 1996 congress passed the act that would screen travelers more. It was in the FAA's shop till after 9/11....Yes, they screwed up. You seem to say it's Bush's fault. Bush had 9 mths Clinton had 4 years. If you want to place blame then it seems to me that both may be to blame...But I find it hard to blame it all on a guy that was only in office 9 mths. OBL was not really on the radar screen, he was a threat but most intel showed his targets to be outside the US. That is not the FAA's area of operations. It is easy as hell to play arm chair QB after the game. But if people jumped at every piece of intel that *could* be a threat, not only would the Government have to be much larger and have MUCH more power (Which you seem to be against) but it would also have the chicken little effect. You can only cry wolf so many times. No one thought OBL could pull off an attack of that scope. We had intel that AQ was learning to fly....Well that means they were either gonna start an airline, or hijack a plane. So we will go with hijack a plane. Well so? There have been hijackings since DB Cooper. Not one has taken a plane and used it as a missle. Well you say we had intel that guys were going to do suicide attacks....Yep, just like they have been doing for years. We had Intel that someone had planned to use a plane to crash into the Eiffel tower in France....They did not do it, so that idea dropped off the radar. Pearl Harbor was also a failing of the intel community. Task Force Smith was another, Little Big Horn was still another. As long as people want to do damage...they will. I find it funny that you blame this failure on a guy that had been in charge for 9 mths. People have been replaced in both the CIA and FBI. You are just not happy that Bush did not get replaced...Simplest answer he was a better canidate than Kerry. Best answer is that most people don't see how he was responsible for 9/11. That would be like blaming you for all the bounces at SDC. I WORK at an international Airport. I know what security is doing...Trust me it is MUCH higher than it was. I find it funny you claim: Then say: So which is is? Is there MORE or LESS security now? Lets see car searches, or searching people....I have yet to see a car hijack a plane, and we have not had a rash of car bombings at airports. The BS searches that my car went through are nothing...I have had pocket knives on me and they never caught them....They didn't work and thats why they went away. And BTW they had them after 9/11 till about a year ago. Congress passed the new rules in 1996....I have no idea whay they didn't get put into place. But I tend to blame the FAA, not Bush for it. Clinton had those agencies for 8 years and we had several attacks on the US INCLUDING the WTC by OBL once before. Why not blame the guy that had 8 YEARS instead of the guy that had 9 mths? Simple you like to bash Bush. Iraq was not a soultion to 9/11. Afganistan was. AQ owned Afganistan. That was a good choice. DHS is not a BAD idea. It has made some really stupid mistakes, but so has every Govenment organization....I don't see you bitching about all the stupid mistakes the Welfare system makes. DCF..ect. I also find it funny that you claim that the Government should have done more...But bitch about the Government having to much power. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1474593#1474593 So how do you expect the Government to do anything if all they can do is ask the terrorists to be nice? 3. I just wonder how people can blame Bush for things Clinton didn't do? Clinton had 4 years...Bush had 9 mths. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

    camp mojo

Well tomorrow Brian you have a chance to impress me. Oh joy, 12 hours of tunnel with the NC crew. (where is the damn maniacal laughing smilley?) Prepare to be worked hard folks....I am in that kinda mood. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  5. Try reading the reports Just like the US has plans to invade a whole bunch of countries we will never actually invade I am sure other organizations have plans to do things that they will never do. You have to look for a REALISTIC threat. Otherwise we need to be afraid of everything. OBL has been a threat since before the first WTC bombings....Why was he not more looked for? Sounds like the FAA (Notice not Bush) was doing things...Just not fast enough. Also if Congress ordered it in 1996...Well what did Clinton do about it? I mean he had 4 years do do something, AND he had already been attacked once by OBL. How is that Bush's fault? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  6. No worries... I replied to him in a bigger sense than the question he asked. I don't have a big problem with absolving the debt....But I would expect them to change the way the do business. Why absolve the debt if they are going to continue to do the same things in the same ways? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  7. See this is what I am talking about...The mantis is NOT a stationary position. Watch Airspeed, they are taking grips, flashing...ect yet most would say they are flying in the mantis. I fly the "mantis" all the time. If you want to call it that. But I still take grips, present grips and flash. I know folks on the 300 way that were flying mantis. People think this is a solid position...Its not. Its taught that way just like the boxman was taught that way. Once you get the basic idea, then it is a very fluid position that has a few basic ideas: 1. Head up so you can look around. 2. Puting preasure on the air with your upper body so that your legs are more effective. 3. Use of legs as a primary input to move. It is a concept, not a stationary position. 8. So? That has nothing to do with funding. I am more than willing to bet that the EPA has a ton of fat they could get rid of. If we increased the funding by 30% that fat would just grow. Ever business has cycles where they look at how they do business. Delta removed an olive from a salid and saved thousands. Its called cutting the fat. Any Government agency has tons of fat. They need to be run like a business. One way of doing that is to cut funding and make them look at what is really important, and what is a waste. 9. He wanted them. So do you agree that Clinton failed in dealing with NK? IRAQ violated a RESOLUTION, that is not really an agreement. NK violated a treaty. While neither is good, one was a rule put on someone that had been acting like an ass. The other was a freely entered pact. If he did that he would be toast and he knows it. The world would turn against him...right now part of the world agrees with his stance of "Don't tread on me". If he uses them to become an agressor he will lose public support. If he sells of gives them away he will lose public support... Hell even I think it was a smart move for him to build them. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  10. And become a hero to Islam and get 72 Virgins. You think SH was not an egomaniac? Sure he had money, but everyone wants more...I would ahve been more worried about SH giving a WMD away for religious or vendictive reasons...He hated the US and a WMD used in the US would make him happy. NK just wants food. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  11. OK crap here goes....I really don't know why I bother...But since my helicopter flight lesson was cancled, I now have some time. Both NK and Iraq were perceived threats. In one case we had information that a guy that had WMD's and hates the US still has them and still hates the US...This guy had already started one war, and was supporting terrorism. This guy was making every effort to ignore the UN and was playing games with the inspectors that were sent ot check on him. The other guy was reported to be building nukes. He never said he hated the US in fact he was afradi of the US...Now he did play games with inspectors sent to look at him...But he was not ignoring UN resolutions. One guy was a nut job that said he wanted the US to burn. Another is a nut job that was afraid of the US so he wanted to have a strong defense... So now we are back to where we were when we were in the cold war. No one in NK wants to use nukes...they just want food and aid. Also the NK people don't see dying in the name of religion to be a good thing. If given the choice between NK and Iraq having WMD's....I'd rather NK have them. They just want food, not 72 Virgins. We also had documentation from "experts" that he had WMD. To ignore that threat would have been stupid.. What other option is there but to talk with a guy that could nuke you? The only other option is to invade. They only have at most 8 nukes (most say more like 2), and they can only reach Alaska and HI with the missles they have now. They will not attack with them since they would be destroyed. Like I said they want food. We should talk to them...While preventing as much as possible them getting ICBM's or more warheads. 13. I have taught people mantis before they did AFF. It is nothing more than a way to maximise effect with minimal input....you can learn that at anytime. Also, it is not a magical position anymore than there is a magical freefly position. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  14. Well I guess its public info now. Majic 05 is: Solly, Doug, DVG and Bob Healy. So from my old team we have Brian on Airspeed, and Bob on Majic.....I am beginning to feel like the bridesmaid "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

So? In some countries you are having kids by 14...We as a society don;t think thats a good idea, but Elvis married a kid, so did several other stars. Is it wrong to have sex with a young person? Society in some places say yes, in others they say no. So who is wrong? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  16. A 5% budget cut does not equal a 5% increase in pollutants. That is an emotional argument that does not stand any test of logic. It means the EPA has to control spending...ALL companies are doing that now, why should the Government be different? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  17. Reread the question. Ill print it here for you: In both of the examples you cited there are other issues at work than just people being lazy....Those are also reasons...So your own answer gives even more reasons. However, those situations you brought up are not what most people would defend. So I answered the question: There is NOT ONE reason why there should be a single person going hungry on this planet... By answering a reason that the person themselves could control barring other influences. There are several other reasons why someone would go hungry.... Fasting for religious reasons is another. I could go on. So there ARE several reason why people on this planet would go hungry. I just chose to give ONE of the answers. You gave another, then I added a third. See there are plenty of reasons why people would go hungry. I answered one that has an answer: Work, don't expect handouts... Another answer would be: Don't fast for religious reasons. Your answer would be for people not to commit genocide and treat people that are not like them like dirt... See there are several reasons why people would go hungry. 18. How old are you? The sooner you can invest the less you have to invest later. This is one reason that I suggest investing any tax refund you get. I used to blow them as mad money, but I see it as a very simple way to invest now. Even if you just invest 20 bucks a mth...Its better than nothing. 24. Uh, we just stand around at first call and make up some dives....Ya know things we think we need work on...ECT. Is that wrong? But we USED to track everything on a XL spread sheet. We had the last 10 block times and used our best and Majics times as bases. We figured that our best time would be our goal since if we did it once we could should be able to do it again. We then used the deviation from our best to decide what blocks we had the greatest area of improvement. If we could gain only .2 seconds on say Buddies, but we could gain say .8 on Can "T", we spent more time on Can"T" till another block had a bigger deviation.
