Sure..If you believe in something you should stand up for it... I don't think you would understand. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Actually, my comments had nothing to do with "anti-US" anything. It was about how people will make comments on line that they would not be willing to say to someones face. His comment about the contractors being "cowards" is a perfect example. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

No, what I am saying is that if you feel strong enough about something you should be willing to say it TO the person face to face...Otherwise you don't feel strongly enough about it and maybe you should just keep quiet. I am saying if you really believe something you should be willing to face the folks that want to beat you up for what you think face to face and not hide. If you are going to call someone a "coward" you should be willing to do it TO them. Being behind a keyboard some have the strength of knowing they never have to actually DO anything. If a person is the kind of person that will only talk shit behind people's backs or from the saftey of a computer, then they should not talk shit at all. Is it a better system to make snide remarks and act big when you are hiding behind a computer? Ill give you a real world example. I had a ex-GF and her current was visiting. So, out of respect for her and a guy coming to my home DZ and trying to make it more comfertable for all, I went and spent time on the ranch and didn't jump that weekend. Well he proceded to tell everyone I was a "coward" for "Running away". OK, so I tried to be nice...And he started to talk trash from safely behind his computer. So the next time he was in town, I walked right up to him and asked, "So, I am a coward?" He sat there with his mouth open like a big mouth bass out of water. Saying nothing, doing nothing....After about a minute, I said..."Thought so." and walked off. He then continued to insult me behind the security of a computer, but his true colors showed that day. I always recomend to people not to type what they will not say in person. This is just such a case. I know several contractors....They are not the kind of guys I consider to be "Cowards" and I very much doubt he would have the balls to say that to them....So maybe he should not say it from safely hidden behind a computer. Of course most guys I know would do what I did, them walk off laughing...Like I did. BTW, I got the girl back. I'd like to see him do it face to face, not with the bravery that hiding behind a keyboard brings. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

I think you are dead unless you save yourself...Name one other sport where you put make a split second choice that puts you on a path to certain death unless you perform another task in time. And I don't think of myself as "thinking I'm on the edge". I have been doing this quite some time and recognize more than just the "Gee Golly thats fun" part of the sport. Are you pro-life and support oral contraceptives?
Ron replied to Vallerina's topic in Speakers Corner
No, one is preventive, the other is not. Anyone who thinks using birth control is abortion, must also take the stance that condoms are bad. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334 -
Right, like, "Hey doc, I have a "friend" that has this problem "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Now THAT is how you save skysurfing....This will actually do something to attract people to the sport. Another thing would be a traveling instructor that has a few beginner boards. THIS will help fix the problem, not just try to cover the symptoms like the other idea. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

It seems only the Catholics take that interpretation....So just because the Catholics do it everyone else should? You would force YOUR vision of religion on others? Well Catholics have done that more than almost any other religion, so I guess it fits....But even that passage does not say there will be a Pope. Matthew 16:18 does not say to create a Pope, and Catholics are not the only 'Christians'. The whole catholic religion is shakey at best, and not founded on the Bible. A perfect example is the quote you used...Nowhere does it say to create a Pope. Im not, you are. You think the Bible should 'change'...But you have not been able to show anything IN THE BIBLE where it says it can be changed. You have shown how a religion based (sort of) on the Bible has said how it can change, but thats not IN the bible. The Constitution has IN IT a way to modify it...Something the Bible does not have. When a religion goes directly against the bible to be popular, it distances itself from the source....When a religion makes its own rules against what the bible says...It is clearly no longer based on the bible. This web site Ari created is pretty cool. www.gottunnel.com You can find others that have tunnel time that want filler, and even make requests to be a filler. Kinda cool and fills a need. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

I have issue with both halves Show me where the bible gives that power to him. Show me where the bible 'The word of God' gives the pope that power. Again you can't compare the Bible a book written as the word of 'God' and the Constitution that even in it has ways to change or modify it. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

But you ignored the part where I said that Jesus didn't give a plan for "amendments." You can't compare the US Constitution to the Bible. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
-
Ah, you seem to choose to ignore another part of the constituiton....Amendment XIII (1865) The bible does not have an "Amendment process". "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Thats real mature Anyway this kid broke laws. He was desecrating a venerated object, underage drinking, littering, evading arrest, burning personal property and theft. Even if you ignore burning the flag, he is still a little shit and should get what he deserves. BTW if you burn a little flag with my name on it....Send pics, but smother it in BBQ sauce first cause I don't give a fuck if you wanna burn your own property. If you are really bad, you will have a BBQ and invite the VFW over....Roll tape on that, cause it will be a hoot. Same here...We even have an area of the country that has a Muslim TV station (Cable). But we don't have them waltzing into a WalMart and going boom. The reason is two fold: 1. You touched on one...Religious extreme nutbags. They tell the young ones that it is the only way, and bonus they get a ticket to heaven and 72 Virgins!!!! I persoally don't like virgins and if you only have 72 you will go through them quickly and they are only vigins once....On deeper reflection its not that great of a deal. 2. They are poor. Well these young kids don't have 'x' box or new nikes. And in lower class areas religion is held in higher regard than in more afluent areas. Combine the two and you have poor people that are encouraged to go boom. Remove either and nothing happens. It takes desperation and a religious nutbag. However we have both poor and religious nutbags here in the States, yet we don't have this amount of problems. 1. The US is not THAT poor. 2. We do a much better job of keeping nutbags from coming in, or watchingthem once they are here. Like it or not, Islam has alot of nutbags. Maybe not more than any other religion...But add in that most are poor and you have a problem. You can give them all Playstations, but thats not really gonna work. You can't wipe out the religion. So what can you do? Well helping them economicly, and that includes removing nutbag dictators like Saddam, while removing nutbag religous types is the ONLY answer. I don't think Islam is violent...I DO think that it has one of the highest numbers of uninformed, uneducated, and poor. This is due to the area, and the oppressive governments. The fact that the religion thinks it should be THE LAW of the land even above "the laws of man" does not help in this issue. Add all these up and things go boom. What can we do about Skyride?
Ron replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
There is. 1. Boycott ASC even if it is a cool place. Get others to see that the owners are jerks and supporting jerks hurts the sport. 2. Get all DZ's to quit honoring Skyride certificates. When a Tandem shows up to your DZ and you quit taking SRC tell them that Skyride is a scam, but we will help them out and give them a discount jump if they call the authorities and report them to the authorities and the BBB. 3. Get people who have had Pictures and Bios stolen press charges. But any 'press' is gonna hurt more than help. Then why are they not...Quit playing stupid word games and answer real questions. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Did I say it was JUST the Muslim religion? Nope...I asked why others are not doing it. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
