I can stare at these wonderful creations and forget all about my ex, my boss and the shitty weather last weekend. I just have to make sure my GF doesn't catch me.

Fat Tire from Colorado has just become available over here in NorCal, and I have to say it is the finest American beer I have tasted, it is almost as good a "real" pint back home in the UK.
-
Ok so it was me, I confess.

saw it on saturday while it was raining, great film, my SO spent the whole time hiding behind me, and she made me lock all the windows when we got home.

Two weeks ago I landed in a ditch along side the road in an off DZ landing. The wind was going the opposite from normal, so that made it downwind cause I didn't check carefully, discovered that the grass and other plants were 18" high, but not until after I had tried to land on top of them, I found all sorts of plant shit everywhere including the inside of my helmet and my socks, but I'm still going to keep wearing them. I think the plants near DZs have evolved a new way of spreading their seeds, they have figured out that skydivers sometimes visit different DZs, so they cover us in seeds so that we can spread over a greater area.

It was a 120, it doesn't come out of the riser turn as fast as my 135, but I didn't learn this until I was coming out of the hook, so instead of a crosswind, I was going downwind. It was a very long swoop, but there was no way I could stand it up, so I tumbled and put grass stains on the borrowed rig, a very bad thing to do, made me feel like a jerk, not really something that deserves commendation

1:2:0 1 really stupid downwind swoop on a borrowed canopy 2 hop'n'pops from 3.5K and 2.5K. Then we watched jackass and drank beer.

not when the rain is over the entire state of california.

it's all bush's fault, it never rained in may when clinton was president.

It sucks, a big group of us from our DZ were going to come down for conqo de mayo at perris

When you start folding from the command line add " -advmethods", without the quotes. So you would probably type something like FAH3console -advmethods Which O/S are you using? I think you can only run it as a real service on win 2000, 2003 and NT, probably XP as well, but I've never used it. You will need to get an external program to do this. You can get firedaemon from http://www.firedaemon.com/, they have a free lite version which looks fairly eay to use, although it did give an error, which I ignored, when I installed it.

I hear pool clean contains hydrochloric acid. And it's ALUMINIUM damn it...

no, Justin is not flying, he's being a pussy, he's worried about the thunderstorms, the rain and the ice. I mean what could go wrong The forcast for Perris doesn't look good, so see you at hollister if you are there. S

Hey sebazz, your avatar looks like it's going to explode, have you been playing with Brian's toys again
-
nonsense! just grab onto my leg or rig and climb your way into the formation Isn't that the way that RW is supposed to be done? The only other way I know is to fly over the top, get burbled and fall into my slot, trouble is there is usually somebody else already there. Or I could wear Andy's big suit again a dock in a sit

I'll offer to fly on my belly if someone can show me how

I've been experimenting and there is an option you can set on the folding program, I have tried it on the console and the task bar version. It seems to pick units that complete faster and get more points. I have tried it on P3, P4 and Xoen processors and the number of points per day increased. I tried it on my celeron and it was a bad things, the units took forever to complete, I think the celerons and older processors like the P2s dont have some capability that the new ones do, maybe cache or some MMX commands. To set the option add the '-advmethods" command line option when the program is started. You should do this in the startup options and in the folding at home. In the console option just put it on the command line. You can tell is it worked by looking at the log file, it shows the option if you added it. You have to restart the program to make it have an effect, also it will not effect the current work unit, you will have to wait until the next one to start and it should pick project numbers 537-542, these are fast units.

It means you can get a smaller rig and that looks cooler than a big one, it's all about the image until it hurts

Couldn't agree with you more. We have a good DZ manager that doesn't let us do really stupid things (at least as far as the skydiving bit goes) and I've never heard anyone getting upset, it's based on common sense, no written rules or anything, as a result we don't have any 100 jumper wonders on postage stamps, I and most of the other swoopers have hit the ground a little too hard on occasion, but none of us have been carried off in an ambulance, that would not have been the case if the wingloadings had been higher. But it sounds like some form of self regulation is required given the increasing injury/fatality trend and the increasing availability of HP canopies. Jump numbers are the only thing to go by, no-one complains about the licence requirements and they are tied to jump numbers, it makes sense to use a metric that everyone understands and is easy to measure. Ultimately it will be up to the DZ to enforce the rule, but having a recomendation from the USPA will provide a consistant standard which DZs can use to make judgements on. And the other thing is that you don't need a hankie to get decent swoops, if you practice enough you can make almost anything swoop, [brag] I managed to get 200+ ft on my 135 @ 1.33:1 on a gentle downwinder and stand it up [/brag] Me 1.33:1 @ 839 jumps.

Thanks for volunteering, we'll do it next weekend at Perris.

stop and start the app while you are online. I had this problem once, it tries automatically every 6 hours, but you can force it by exiting and restarting, it will try to send the queue when it restarts.

Wash the mud of the tire and get a can of that touch up paint, and you'll never know the difference.

We were talking about beer, so Coors doesn't count. Notice how I called it stuff, but I apologize I should have been more explicit and called it shit.
