    So how fat...

I'm pretty sure there is some formula somewhere (created by NASA) which determines this. Something to do with number of Heat Resistant Silica Tiles that are in the thermal protection system on the jumpsuit. BP
  2. No it can NOT cure depression. In the short term it may mask the effects. But how do you deal with it if you can not jump? Or worse still what happens if you feel you need to jump more and more often to temporarily hide the effects of depression? Or even more worse what if you start to take more risks to get an ever increasing buzz? I did not think jumping whilst suffering from depression was allowed anyway. My advice would be to seek professional help with your depression and use Skydiving as a goal for when you are cured of it. BP

  5. ### BEGIN RANT If global warming is such a big issue then why don’t you really do something about it. In all forums anywhere I hear people talking about how we are to blame for the impending doom that awaits us, or our children or our children’s children and that we have to do something about it. And what do they do, they talk some more about it, or maybe they recycle something every now and then. Yes, policies are introduced to be more “green”, bring carbon footprints down and research is commissioned. But let’s face it, they are just token gestures and moreover, money making machines for those who can exploit public perception around global warming. People in general like to say that they are “green” and they “do what they can”, but its all bullshit really. Examples: 1. We have an ever increasing number of buses in my city along with an ever increasing number of bus lanes. A significant number of these buses are known as Ghost Buses, because very few people use them, and yet you see them trudging around the city with no one on them. So you have these ghost buses driving around town all day and they give off at least 6 times the emissions of a car. Why do they continue to run? – Because the company that runs them is getting a big fat “green” subsidy to provide the route. If anybody really gave a shit about the carbon they would have explored use of non carbon producing transport. E.G. Bycycles and cycles routes. But they did not, and why not? - Because there is no money in it !!!! 2. All year long one of the bosses here has been going on about recycling and introducing “green” initiatives and basically ramming the environmental stuff down our throats. And yet the other day I was involved in a conversation with him where he was discussing what new company car to get. He insisted it had to be a top of the range BMW. He only lives 2 miles from work and doesn’t drive as part of his business. He also insisted it had to have air con, even though the average annual temperature in this country is less than 11 C. If he really gave a shit, he would forego the company car and bloody walk to work !!!!!!!! Does anybody REALLY care? Or rather does anybody really care ENOUGH? IMO I don’t think anybody does. All we are really interested in doing is finding a happy balance that will allow us to continue to drive around in our cars, fly in planes and generally live the life we live and yet appease our own conscience and more importantly appear to be seen to be doing something about it. If you really do care, then make some real sacrifices for it. Give up the cars and cycle or walk everywhere, give up the skydiving and take up base. END RANT ### BP

  7. The woman obviously came around, as you said, on a damage control exercise and I think you have acted honourably. You sensed that she needed to feel she had redressed any damage she had done the night before and rightly obliged by peeking at her breasts. She goes away feeling happier and you got a free ogle. Very gentlemanly, considering you could have been entitled to a WAY or NUM test. BP

  9. I watched a recent Top Gear episode that had a feature about ncap results. I was shocked at what a difference the scores make in terms of protection from an accident and the misconceptions of the public. (E.G. They showed crash results from an oldish heavy and large 4x4 (ncap = 2*) compared to a newish mini type car (ncap = 4*). The 4x4 was a real mess compared to the mini type. ) The Espace (2002 - ) scores 5 stars but is quite low for child protection. The Ford Galaxy scores 5 stars but is much higher for child protection. As for a volvo, it don't matter how safe it is, it's still a volvo, what would the neighbors say. BP

If you can you get them all together why not throw a party for em. It will give you the opportunity to thank them personally and for them to welcome you home. BP
  13. The shoes can also give you pain from being a poor fit for your foot. I once developed severe pain from a new pair of shoes that were my size, but just the wrong fit. Get new shoes and more importantly get some advice on the correct fit for your foot shape. BP
  14. Animosity between groups of youths has always been around and I don’t mean just gangs. When I was in my teens for a period, there was always some trouble kicking off. It was the same for my father. The only real difference these days is the availability of lethal weapons and the desire to use them. BP

  18. "Alright me old babs !" or "Alright my babber!" A number of years ago at work, we were discussing what we had done on the weeked. One of my team said: "I went to watch that Evital at the cinemal" I work in the West Country in a place called Bedminster and for the people around here, if a word ends in a to them it ends in al. So another one I hate is when they are going down to "Asdals" to get a bit of shopping.. Of course I speak perfect Queens English. BP

  20. 3-4 Months? Thats longer than you would need for a complete break. In my experience, if it is not completely broke then healing is usually faster with mobility. I'm not sure if it has something to do with circulation to the injured area or "mind over matter" stuff. Providing you can restrict and protect the MCL, I would have thought you could do more than walking. e.g. Cycling. If your doctor knows you well then they probably have a good idea of what is best for you. But it is just the doctors opinion. BP
