If you think your job is crap, try sitting in my chair for the next few weeks… .. .. One of my jobs is to test system interfaces. I kid you not, but the piece of work I have been assigned today has been abbreviated to: System H Interface Testing. (S.H.I.T) I have been asked to produce/arrange the following. A S.H.I.T. Plan; A S.H.I.T. execution schedule; A S.H.I.T. defect management plan; S.H.I.T. defect resolution service level agreements; Weekly S.H.I.T progress meetings; S.H.I.T. acceptance criteria; A S.H.I.T. handover session; And finally…A post S.H.I.T review to improve efficiency of any future S.H.I.T. I also have an IT team in London who want to integrate my S.H.I.T. with theirs! BP

Thats bad. I work in a bank and here in the UK most ATM's have a time limit on in-action when a card is in the machine. If there is no action after a certain period the card is with-held, so that no further transactions can take place. This also occurs if the card is left in the slot. Most ATM's will grab the card and with-hold it. It also does it with money if you dont take it from the slot. You may want to check if the card has been witheld by the ATM. If it has, then you can at least prove to your bank what has happened. If you have been with your bank for a while and your account activity is ok, then you may be able to negotiate with them to recover some of the lost money. Most bank's will sympathise with your situation. For instance a little known fact here in the UK is that, say I went into a bank and took out £1000. And then shortly after I get robbed and the money is taken off me, well providing I report it to the police, the bank would normally reimburse me the full £1000. Talk to your bank, see if you can get them to share the loss. It's worth a try. BP

That was very very cool. It was also good how one of the them commentated on it while in freefall. I wonder if Mitsubishi will give it a try.

Respect? - yeh right. OK, so in a room full of ugly woman and one hot chick there is no way that a man is gonna hold the door open for em all. The hot chick gets the RESPECT and then door is firmly shut closed on all the rest. BP

Tell them that you are decorating your room and you would really appreciate it if they nipped down the loacal DIY (Hardware) store and get you a 'Long Weight'. And make sure that they don't come back without one.

Some Personal Observations to Help Save a Little Fuel
bluepill replied to Gawain's topic in The Bonfire
That may work where you dont need to reduce speed, but when slowing down in a manual it is ALWAYS best to have the car in gear. This is beacuse when the throttle is not applied when the car is in gear, NO fuel is used. Hwoever, if you stick it in neutral whilse slowing down then the engine will use fuel on tick over, which can add up to quite alot. BP -
They may be offers to pull you in; you need to check before they execute a credit check. I am not sure how it works in the US but in the UK, if the frequency of requests for credit scoring goes up then you credit rating gets worse. This sounds daft because it kind of means that you can’t shop around. But from a financial company perspective, they would just view it as someone continually trying to obtain credit. If you want to shop around, make sure you do so without anyone executing a credit score. Does it hurt to refinance? – No not at all. In fact most companies would view this as prudent measure in managing your finances, providing you don’t do it too often. Words of warning though… Make sure you check the small print on: The refinance deal Often the refinance package may have “additional” admin charges for the privilege of the refinance. The loans and cards you are paying off There could be an exit fee or early redemption fee. I know of some banks here in the UK that will charge you 3 months worth of payments as an early redemption penalty. They just hide it in the settlement amount. Do you have Independent Financial Advisors? If you do it may be worth having a full review with one. They can not only advise you of the better loan deals but they can also review all of your outgoings and point out where you could improve, particularly if you have any investments. BP
