    I'll repeat what's been said. Dell's quality has gone way down and their customer service sucks big time. A few years ago, I'd have recommended them, but no longer. You wouldn't believe the problems we've had with the few we bought here before we learned our lesson. Personally, I think Apple makes the best laptop hardware out there today and they're very price-competitive (at least on the laptops). If you _must_ have a PC, my vote would probably be IBM or a Panasonic Toughbook. Toshiba is OK but they've always had poor battery life, in my experience (it's been a few years since I had one though).     One thing to consider when looking at two schools where one is MUCH less expensive: if the quality of the education is similar, does the prestige of the school help you work in the field or speciality you intend to pursue? If you're going to work for a hot-dog corporate law firm, they might be a lot more concerned about the 'tier' of your law school than if you wanted to work in a specialty area that was less concerned with prestige and more with your personal capability. If you don't think that'll matter much, and all else is equal, I'd go to the cheaper one - in the long run, $40k less in student loans might make the difference between being able to take a job you really want, or taking a job that pays more but will be unsatisfying.     Yes, I program the crap out of it. it's totally my bitch. Seriously, it's what my company does. It's pretty easy to learn. A good place to start for MySQL are these books. There's even a 'for dummies' book if you like that kind of thing.     ...for his shiny new B license. I actually had all the requirements but the written test 7 months ago, but I was being lazy about it. Now that I actually went and got it, I suppose I owe some beer... I also got my first really clean 4-point 8-way (including a block move!) this weekend, thanks to the mad 'leet organizing skillz of the inimitable Jaqi (of Synchronicity), and the wonderful coaching I got in the tunnel from Shannon Pilcher and Andy Delk..     That's the theory, anyway. I'm thinking quite a few executive orders have been issued that don't quite play fair... And I would blame Ashcroft for more of the problem than Bush. But Bush appointed Ashcroft, so he's the one who carries the blame. How about this, and the fact that it's been used on US citizens?
