    Please tell me you're kidding and you're not really that naive, right? The only person in the senate who voted against PATRIOT I was a democrat. Have a look at the official record, if you like. PATRIOT was introduced in a such a way it was almost impossible, politically, for anyone to vote against it, and virtually no one had time to read it before it was voted on. That ought to be illegal.     Hey all! My sister lives in Florida now, and her computer got taken out by some kind of power disturbance. I'm too far away to diagnose it, but if any of you folks down there want to make a few bucks quickly for some easy PC work, please send me a PM and I'll get you the info; she can bring the PC to you within a reasonable distance of Daytona Beach... From her description, the PC posts but locks before booting the OS; might be a flakey power supply or a fried hard drive, but I can't tell from way over here on the left coast. Anybody with PC diagnostic experience need a few extra bucks for jumps?

    ..Which is why many heads-up networking depts block those wacky ports, or use content detection (so you can't send HTTP over port 53, for example, because only DNS is allowed on that port). A sneakier way is to use a proxy via SSL, so the content is encrypted and can't be detected inline. That only works if there are SSL-enabled proxies (like anonymizer) that your IT dept hasn't also blocked.     No, it makes NO sense at all. But it's low paying because there are (surprisingly) a lot of people willing to do the work so they can get into the fire dept, paramedic, or hospital service. OTOH, the training I got to become a nationally-certified EMT was less than the training to get my massage technician certificate. Go figure.     Dolby EX is just a scam because they can't get any really innovative new features into the recievers. Since DVD's can only encode 5.1 channels of audio (using the current standard), where exactly do those extra speakers get their information? Yeah, I've heard 'em. Not a significant improvement IMHO and if you're buying good speakers, the extra expense is NO WAY worth it.
