My sister and I released my father's ashes in freefall. The container was made by Patti Falo in CA. Basically it was a piece of cordura folded in half and sealed on three sides by heavy velcro. It had handles on the sides that looped up so that it carried like a briefcase. My sister did a tandem and held the case until at which time I docked and took one of the handles from her. I then backed out as she went to full arms reach with her handle and it pulled the case apart releasing the ashes. My 3032 did the same thing albeit much worse than that. I talked to Raynox's USA warranty center and they had me send it in + 6.95 and replaced it. The new one did it as well but not as bad. It was pretty disparaging. Anyway, last week I bumped my helmet (not very hard mind you) climbing out of the otter and the lens fell off (I would suggest not using the plastic step up rings). So... problem solved. I replaced it with the Century .55 and I think I am going to like it a whole lot better. I've only shot one video with it so far. I'll need a few more to be sure. Well... it sounds like you can't put the files back on the memory stick to work in the camera for playback. However, if you copy the file structure and put the files on an external hard drive Imovie & Final Cut should access them. I do it with iMovie all the time. Just log and transfer the files by choosing the AVCHD folder that you create with all your files in the appropriate folders inside that folder... for example: Your folder structure should look like this (where dir name is inside parenthesis)... (AVCHD)

The post clearly states they are tandem pics... You don't have to look. So I say to you... please stop posting, unless it's something mega cool. Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer

Ah to have your problems... Hahahahahah I thought I was doing good to have a couple of PC105's and a CX100... Hahahahhaha Thanks for the input. I've been shooting in HD (standard, 5H I believe) mode. I think the video is incredible. Perhaps I'll check into SD mode and see what the differences are... Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer

What I've notice the most in all the years that I have been filming skydiving is that some people film skydiving, and some people just wear a camera on their head. For some it's about the art... for others it's about the money and still for others its just about "getting anything". Personally, I believe if you don't take enough pride in the art to constantly try to improve and frame your shots and create something of substance... then you shouldn't be wasting your time trying to video a skydive. There's plenty of CRAP out there. the community doesn't need anymore. Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer

Automating DVD burn after vegas finishes render
Superfletch replied to adamT's topic in Photography and Video
Automated through the use of scripts... Basically, in a nut shell, you insert your card from your CX100 and in under 10 mins a DVD pops out of the drive for you to hand to your customer... You have to have all the scripts in place and your system set up for this to work. Movie Studio doesn't support scripts so everything has to be manually edited. Movie Studio and Vegas are about the same speed if you manually edit. If you're going to use a scripted workflow you MUST use Vegas. Tony Suit C-Wing - small question to finally getting one...
Superfletch replied to Ragnarok's topic in Photography and Video
They sometimes do fail... In 2000 jumps I have broke 2. But, it's not the end of the world when they fail. The only reason I have them is because they came on the top when I bought it off the rack and swedish shackles are expensive so I haven't felt the need to change them out... Swedish Shackle... I myself have the plastic clips (forget what their called) Anyway, my wings have the female ends and I have several sets of male ends that I attach to the legstraps of my rigs and several of my friends rigs. Sizing a tandem dvd for the web or email?
Superfletch replied to velocityphoto's topic in Photography and Video
Maybe you could handbrake it into a .mov file or something... Import it into imovie as a movie file and then share it to whatever size you want... Just a thought. That might avoid having to download extra software or anything like that. Plus, if need be you could re edit it. :P Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer -

Recommendation for KS DZ

Right on the sony style description of the camera it says you can do it but it sounds to me if you have to have a memory stick. Do you have one in there? Have you looked at it to see if the frame grabs were recorded. If you do and you have and they weren't there then there is probably a setting to turn the feature on. But it is possible...
