  1. 5500 to be exact, but let's not split hairs here. I also owned a VX for awhile. It liked the heavier loading compared to the fx. I now have velo 103 (my vx was a 98, and my fx was a 104), and it likes a little heavier loading, than the fx did, but not as much as the vx.
  2. The FX is a good canopy, but I found that it didn't like to be loaded above 2.0, especially in Colorado. Don't roll the tail much as it can cause off heading openings. When I packed it, I quartered the slider, and pulled it out in front of the nose slightly. I didn't roll the tail, but for half a roll. This gave me the best openings. It's not going to have the float of your crossfire, as it will want to dive quite a bit in full flight. Rear riser's work ok to flatten it out some, but deep brakes should give you max float. It's going to shut down more rapidly since you are going to be loading it at 2.2. The turn rate is going to be sluggish compared to the CF2, and it may open faster. It is going to dive quite a bit with front riser input, but eventually the fronts will build up, and you will not beable to keep it in a dive. This is not the most efficient way to fly it though. Good luck, don't kill yourself.
  3. First, I have a VERY tiny dick And your balls havn't decended yet either. hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Sometimes I crack myself up. As far the smaller canopy guys out there, I am one of them. I jump a Velocity 103, and I like to swoop on my landings. With that being said, nomatter what kind of turn I am doing from base to final, I always fly a pattern. It is usually a crosswind (2000'), to a downwind (1700'), to a base (1200'), with a right hand 270 to final (750'-800'). I find the argument between the two dudes that Artwardo speaks of to be a mute point. These little canopy's really do have quite a bit of lift, and if you don't have the skill to hang out in brakes while a lot of the traffic clears, then you shouldn't be jumping as small of a canopy. Also jumping these canopy's requires you to think far ahead as to what is going to happen with your pattern, and what a lot of the other people are doing. If you cannot do that on every jump, then you don't need to be jumping these canopy's. If you feel that you need to land in the main landing area, on every jump, then you don't need to be jumping these canopy's. The main landing area now adays is pretty damn dangerous. I'm sure in the 60's and 70's all you had to do was worry about someone going in on you. I would have to liken that to being struck by lightening. I'm sure there weren't to many double fatalities because of that. Now you have to worry about some jack ass flying way out of his realm of abilities, and pegging you. I have seen people get hit, and I have hit someone before. It's un-cool, trust me. I am now through speaking. Go back to comparing dick sizes. End communication.
  4. The chamber is the shit. I've been twice.
  5. Hypoxia is a silent killer, and it doesn't really affect any two people the same. There is the same percentage of O2 at 15,000msl, as there is at sea level. The difference is that there's not as much atmosperic pressure at that altitude. The pressure is what drives that O2 into your blood stream. Supplementle O2 is good up to 18,000MSL. After that you really need a pressurized breathing apparatus, to help deliver the O2 to your brain. Some common symptoms of hypoxia are light headedness, loss of color vision, nausia, euphoria, loss of fine motor skills, dizzynes, loss of logical thinking, and passing out. Death resulted from hypoxia usually is resulted from loss of consciousness, and crashing the plane or parachute or whatever. It is a good idea to know your symptoms, and watch out for them, as they can really sneak up on you. The symptoms are not onset from one particular cause, as you can become hypoxic a lot easier and a lot sooner if you are dehydrated (after a good night of drinking), out of shape (fat), under a lot of stress (jumping a new canopy, trying franticly to remember the dive flow at exit time). You can help yourself, by calming down, taking some deep breaths, getting supplemental O2, and trying to relax. Recognizing your symptons of hypoxia is half the battle. Becarefull out there.
  6. I think the question should be, How to survive the reentry for the longest freefall ever?
  7. I liked the caption that some one said about mine... "Today's show is brought to you by the number H, and the letter 7" That was freakin funny!
  8. Good christ, this thread is still going? Oh by the way: Lisa Marie looked a little disheveled after landing from a jump where her leg strapps where a little offset, causing a truely orgasmic experience under canopy.
  9. I have only jumped the removable bag once, and it was a faster opening, but that was opening at 17,000MSL on a hot day. With just the slider it opens really nicely terminal or subterminal. I have only had quick openings when I have been going fast(last jump of the day, being lazy, and not slowing down).
  10. It's just a hair bigger, but there are cables going to all corners, and I thing it stiffens up the slider. This doesn't allow it to flex as much, thus keeping the canopy more on heading.
  11. My removable slider makes the openings much more on heading with my velo.
  12. The nerds will always get the chick in the end!
  13. Try Miami here on DZ.com. He's easy to work with and honest. He's not here to shaft anyone. He's also a tall dude. Look at Abraham Lincoln. He was a tall dude, and look at what he did.
  14. When the guys and gals wit thousands of jumps are sitting one or two out, then it might be a wise idea to take heed and do the same. Of course a dz is still going to operate, as it's cash in their pocket, but it's your safety that's what you need to worry about. Low turbulance is nothing to skoff at.
  15. I would have to say you were in the ZONE on that one.
  16. Has the thought of upsizing occured to any of you? If you want more bottom end lif, but you didn't like the cross brace then maybee you shouldn't load a non crossed braced canopy up as much.
  17. Wrong way was impersonating some scenes from the Passion...
  18. I have never jumped with Jeth, but if we did we would form a great round and laugh alot.
