  3. But at least some of those changes came into effect. The creation of the PCA, now known as Class A airspace and restrictions on VFR on top. At least that's how I heard it, but a bit before my time. The FAA practices management by accident.
  4. What a great time, Jimmy. Did they play "Tuesday Afternoon"?
  5. Yeah, good analysis. Line friction is, at best, a minor factor, I'll now assume. Students don't have collapsing sliders, though, and their sliders don't go back up. The real reason we collapse them is to reduce drag and that annoying flapping sound.
  6. Well, I know you don't need the bike. You'll have to wait until August 16th to find out, just like everyone else, Remi. You at least get a big hug from Vskydiver for all your support all these years.
  7. Having line twists lessens the angle of the lines going thru the grommets on the slider. Could that reduced friction on the grommets been a factor in the slider coming down faster, causing a harder opening?
  8. Nope, no bicycle on the National "need not be present to win" list. That's definitely a local prize. Sorry. We do have a ton of cool local prizes every year too. That's what makes it even more fun.
  9. Now you're getting personal. That town name kinda sticks in my head.
  10. It's a real crazy version of scrambles. The teams keep shuffling and you're competing on an individual basis as you rotate thru the teams. Since it's a charity event you can also buy points. We have tons of cool prizes for that, including smoker barbecues, tunnel time, massages, bicycles, etc. It's a lot of fun, even if I don't really understand all the rules.
  11. Thank you so much. Wish you could be here. We have a huge stack of local prizes too, from barbecues to bikes, reserve repacks, jumps, etc.
  12. Damn, I am so glad you're alive and your junk is okay.
  13. I bet the smell really gets in your nose. Gutsy job, crawling into those fires. It's funny how our firemen (and women) friends enjoy that so much, because that's what they signed up to do, not the endless aid calls to someone having labored breathing and a little pain.
  14. That's all beyond my grasp of physics. I'm more of a Newtonian with some Relativity thrown in. But perhaps this is one of those early peeks into the darkness, like the photoelectric effect or black body radiation, where confounding results validate later amazing theories.
  15. Well, you do have a girl. How many of our DZ.com peeps will celebrate this day, oh, the movie title that comes to mind is "Home Alone".
  16. Yeah, they were kinda short on specific techniques. Just a bunch of general advice anyone can figure out.
  17. Nick Grillet from Cookie emailed me a great gift today. We are proud to have a 50% off ANY Cookie Helmet coupon for our National Prize list. Anyone been lusting after a new G3? I know Vskydiver, the kids and I all love ours. Updated again. . . . .
