I'm having a cold beer and thinking the same thing. Amazing that I have so many channels, but most are all crap. I do have a good book to read, though. We just got back from a friend's early evening birthday party. We must be getting old when the party starts at 3 and ends at 9. Definitely not a jumper friend.

You better have your act together for Mrs Squeaks Tandem in Feb You know me. I'll only take her if I'm healed and current. Plus the weather gods. . .

See ya at H and M! Not sure when my collar bone will be healed, though.

"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." I mean, I know where he was going with this, but it's a dumb blanket statement. This is coming from a guy with a lot of wear and tear on his body, and I don't feel stronger. . .

will a jumpsuit help at this point?
JohnMitchell replied to rocketdog's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hmm, you might be surprised how suddenly everything became smoother and easier. I've been thru 4 decades of changing jumpsuit styles for just belly flying, and seen free fly suits evolve from their infancy. People sometimes underestimate how much all that excess flapping material screws with their flying. The problem is worse for little girls. -
I only snorkel, and only been out on one dive boat, but they had a warm water hose at the stern to warm our suits prior to entry. No peeing necessary. I was hoping that was the norm, 'cause I liked it. As for the cook, BONUS DAYS!

Very true, and very cool.

Exactly. In fact, I would take the loan at 1.5% and keep the money earning 7% right where it is. We bought a house in Lacey, WA last spring. We're still carrying about a loan of about $30K on it, at 3.75%. I thought about selling some stock to just pay it off, but the market is up about 12% over the same period. I would have lost $$ by paying off early. Now, a cash rebate I'll take every time.

Yep. He was pretty cool, totally regrets what he did. He served his time, got out, finished his degree and built a good life. He's "chill" like most jumpers and would be welcome in our home anytime.

Yep, I've never been in that thread but they mentioned DZ.com as a source of information yesterday. Nice bunch of people, had a lot of questions for us. Met a guy named Rob who hijacked a plane for real in Reno. Super nice guy.

Ordinarily I'd say "single malt" but then it would be empty so let's go with milk.

Did they buy that story? It was a DB Cooper fan club. I'm sure they had their own theories about the cover up.
-
Exactly. You know I'm a "glass is half full" kind of guy. I really can't complain. Thanks, QT!

Totally glad it wasn't a jump incident. I love our sport and hate to ever make it look bad. I was giving a talk at a local museum today on skydiving and the first thing I mentioned was that it was NOT a skydiving injury that had my arm in a sling.

Thanks. Good to hear. I'm not half as banged up as you were. I should recover pretty quickly. Yep on the helmet. I'm a believer.

We had family and skydiver friends and kids and my son drove home and one daughter was here and we drank wine and ate and laughed and talked. It was wonderful. -
Good to hear. This will be my admission to the metal club. I'm glad I didn't do it jumping.

One Black Friday purchase, a new vacuum cleaner at Costco. Didn't go shopping until 3 in the afternoon, parking was easy and the crowds were light and well behaved. Also bought wind tunnel packages for my sister-in-law, her husband and her boys. Hope they like it.

Cool, 15th thru the 21st.

I've got the x-rays to prove it!!! Feeling no pain. They took really good care of me. No complaints. Valinda and I were laughing at how 2 previous shoulder surgeries had preemptively gotten me off of work on previous Thanksgivings and Christmases. I even had supervisors asking what I was planning "next holiday?" I wish I had still been working so I could have called in sick, again, for Thanksgiving.

Thanks, Doc.
