Check Empuriabrava's website... www.skyrats.com Last time I looked into it, it was actually cheaper to fly to Empuria for a long weekend and do a tandem with video and stills than it was to do the same in the UK! Hey... it's an option... Another option is to look into doing the jump for charity - not sure how much money she'd have to raise though. Roughly double the cost of the jump I think... but then it's free to her. hth Vicki

I got my annual policy through AXA: www.axa-travel.co.uk For worldwide cover (including the US), annual policy I think I paid approx £130 (up a fair bit from last year when it was £92). If you book on line just be really careful to ensure you take the dangerous sporst option otherwise it would all be a bit pointless! Vicki -
Very, very much so I'm afraid. The NHS is free (but we pay for it through sky high taxes), but shockingly bad. They don't give a flying f*ck how much pain I'm in with my wisdom teeth. My dentist referred me to have them removed in December... I don't get to see a Consultant until May. That appointment is for "assessment only" (why - I though my dentist had already assessed the fact that they need removing ) and no idea or indication of when they will finally take the damn things out I'm not impressed! For the record it would cost me £1,200 ($2,100+) to have them out privately but since I pay my vast amounts of tax I really don't see why I should. Vicki

Reef Bar is inside Waterloo Station - great meeting place - it is opposite about platform 6 and next door to the Boots near the M&S Food store. You have to climb a flight of stairs to get to the bar and inside are lots of cool fish in tanks! Does that make sense?! Vicki Edited: for shocking typos!

Reef bar at 6.30pm fine for me too...anyone know of a Pizza Express or some other cheap eatery nearby that we can get food? There is a nice Gourmet Pizza not far from Waterloo (Gabriel's Wharf) but other than that and my other favourite Italian I'm outta ideas. I'll PM Spike and see if he's up for it! Any other lurking Londoners tempted by good beer and better company tomorrow evening? Vicki

Good luck for the future and congratulations on making a decision that feels right for you. Ignore those who slam you – at least you’ve tried the sport, made some jumps and decided it’s not for you. To my mind, that is an informed, adult decision. Anytime you did want to come back… the sky would still be up there smiling at you. Have fun with whatever you decide to pursue. Vicki

Interesting… I had wondered why we had never seen any footage of the aircraft actually hitting the pentagon – there is no shortage of cameras there after all. If the conspiracy theory is true then it certainly raises a lot of questions. It is a big if though... Vicki
