  9. Bring it on, smurf boy . . . I must have missed that list in the mag. Thanks. Out of that list, Rusty is the only one I know. I know of Jerry McCauley, and Chris Gay's name I have heard before. Do you know the background of any of the others? I'm just curious. Arrive Safely John
  10. Who knows the names on the team roster? Arrive Safely John

  12. For everyone: SkymonkeyONE posted a warning about one-liners in the last marathon KC thread, which was also eventually locked. Although this is a different thread, the message about one-liners remains: One-liners (a la Bonfire) are not welcome in the topical forums. The one-liners have been culled and the thread continues (for now). Arrive Safely John
  13. Somebody needs to shed some light on the point of this thread. So far it has no value at all other than causing people to speculate about what is behind the author's comment, which does not serve to forward this forum or the sport of skydiving. That is, after all, what the General Skydiving forum is about. As soon as it turns into a string of one-liners it's done. Arrive Safely John

  15. Made my first three jumps (all tandems) out of it today. And yes, I bought my . My take on it: -Harder for me to board with a tandem rig on. I have to crawl in on my hands and knees. +Straddle benches! +Seatbelt arrangement is excellent. +Easy easy (easy) student hookup. +Hand rails on the inside are great! -Door is not big enough for my behemothness, so I was doing seated exits. The first one was perfect, and the last two I got cut in from the top and drove over head down for a bit. No big deal - those will take some time to perfect. +Roll up door, exit lights +Rate of climb Overall for tandem exits, some things are easier than the Otter, and some are harder. I reckon they come out about even in my book. Arrive Safely John
  16. The Day's Inn is a truckstop hotel. Not the most secure in the world, and there are trucks in and out all night - very noisy. The rooms are tiny as well. I would not recommend that one. The other Casa Grande hotels I have stayed in: -Best Western: excellent. Fairly new, clean, free breakfast, etc. -Holiday Inn: an older hotel, but just fine as a place to hang your hat for the weekend. Arrive Safely John
  17. As of last Friday's conversation with Alti-2 it has not left the prototype stage. It's not completely available for anybody yet. Arrive Safely John
  18. Pm Sangiro and negotiate your deal with him. He handles requests such as yours. Arrive Safely John
  19. You can until I step on your little manicured fingers! Are you home yet? Arrive Safely John
  20. I was a soccer Dad this weekend. I'll be out there Friday dirt diving some tandem exits so I can get my behemoth ass out of it on Saturday with paying customers. Arrive Safely John
  21. All points have been made here - it's going downhill . . . Arrive Safely John
  22. Not quite a production item yet . . . it's still in the prototyping stage. It only has some more small refinements left to go . . . Arrive Safely John
  23. I was under the same impression - Sentinel MK 2000s were no longer manufactured after SSE ceased to exist. I never heard of anyone servicing them (at least here in the States). Steve Snyder died when he crashed his F-86. His estate sold SSE to a large aerospace company who discontinued manufacture of parachute related components. Kathy Grix and Roger Allen obtained the manufacturing rights to the Altimaster and military altimeter line, and started Alti-2. There was a military version of the Sentinel as well, the MK 2100. 24. The ruggedized Neptune was designed with the military customer in mind. Obviously it may have other potential applications as well. Arrive Safely John
