  1. No surprise tonight - Paris is history. Personally I was happy to see her go. She is very talented and I wish her the best, but I just grew weary of her. Elliott or Taylor next . . . Arrive Safely John
  2. I have a Michigan bootie suit with rubber soles. I put Shoe Goo on the toes when I got it and it has lasted until now (hundreds of jumps) without deteriorating. Arrive Safely John
  3. A reminder that the thread to which you are referring was posted on April 1st. Arrive Safely John
  4. Now the intelligent conversation can continue . . . does anyone have an "Easy" button? Arrive Safely John
  5. Well now! Notice that I removed this garbage from the original thread. I simply wanted to point out that kbone-ing your instructor boyfriend like an untameddog just to get a D license is extremely bad form. Almost as bad as setting up alter-ego usernames just to troll the topical forums and waste everybody's time. Take an "extended" leave of absence from General and keep your troll bait to yourself. 6. Psst! Check out the buttons at the bottom of the text block when you're posting . . . click on the url button before pasting the URL, then again after posting it. That creates a hyperlink. If you want to get fancy, check out the bottom of this page Cheers, Arrive Safely John
  7. Let's keep that thread going . . . Arrive Safely John
  8. Paris or Kelly are going home tomorrow. Paris chose a tired song - overplayed and burned out, and IMHO she hasn't shown flexibility between genres like some of the others. Kelly was tentative and the song was boring. I enjoyed Elliott's performance the most, followed by Catherine - who I thought the judges were off base about. She tackled a tough song which is really ballsy and did a great job with it. Paris or Kelly tomorrow - my prediction. What to y'all think? Arrive Safely John
  9. Folks, We need some factual details here. Best for everyone would be a link to the FAA's official communication on the subject. Obviously there is not enough information in the original post or any of the replies to be completely useful. Raising potentially serious safety issues with reference to a specific person by name without the facts to support it is not forwarding to any of us here beyond wanting to know "the scoop." Please handle any information you post with discretion. Thanks. Arrive Safely John

  12. There are already several posts about it - the most fitting of which are in "Errors and Bug Reports." Sangiro is the one to engage these issues . . . he is unavailable at the moment and will tackle these glitches when he returns. Arrive Safely John
  13. You just cross your arms, grab your risers in opposite hands, and turn yourself around. Long pre-breathes and HAHOs - you gotta do what you gotta do! Arrive Safely John

  15. Find the biggest sweatshirt or fleece you've got. Throw it in the dryer for about 20 minutes, then put it on. That will warm you up! Arrive Safely John
  16. 1) 3000 FT = normal deployment altitude; 1800 FT is my personal cutaway altitude. That's what it was according to USPA years and years ago, and I never changed it for myself. 2) I have had two cutaways. on the first I cutaway lower (1500 FT) because I foolishly tried to clear the mal (what I thought was a tension knot) for too long. On the second I cutaway higher - right after opening because I blew thre nose lines side by side. 3) I think about mals all the time and review my procedures mentally quite often - especially for tandems. 17. Ryan, You already have a separate thread posted about the Altitrack. Please don't hijack your own thread (this one) and divide the Altitrack conversation. Arrive Safely John
  18. So I guess all of the demos I have made from 2000 FT AND all of the training jumps from 2000 FT I made to train for those demos AND all of the 5 second delay HAHOs I have made have to get put in some other category. I don't think so. Splitting hairs like that belittles the record attempt and the charities that benefit from it. Jay Stokes is a quality individual and an incredibly experienced skydiver.
