  2. Zero P canopies last a looooong time because of the fabric. You will likely get a lot more jumps out of it, but it is definitely due for a reline. Don't settle for jumping a canopy that's out of trim. If it were mine, I'd send it to PD for a 100% inspection and reline. You can ask them to do the inspection and then call you first before they continue with the reline to report their opinion on the condition of the canopy itself.
  3. Howdy! I too made my first jump during my Army Airborne training. And yes, it DOES mean quite a lot, although free fall and piloting a ram-air canopy are quite different. You have an open invitation to join me at Raeford Parachute Center for a tandem jump, or you can just go for AFF!?!?! Raeford is not that far from Lexington. If you want to learn more about Raeford or anything at all, PM me and I'll PM you back my phone number. Arrive Safely John
  4. If the Doc says you shouldn't run for another 2 months, then I wouldn't jump either. You could aggravate the injury and be grounded even longer. After you are cleared by the Doc, then you can start back by jumping a big canopy and working your way back down to your own rig. Arrive Safely John

  9. Welcome! I won't be any help with Australia DZ's either, but I suggest a post in "Places To Jump." That might bring you some advice from fellow Aussies. Arrive Safely John
  10. Adding to Phree's post . . . I read into your original post that you may be looking for a used rig. I suggest getting measured as Phree said, using the Odyssey order form, then emailing your measurements and the canopies you are planning on jumping to info@sunpath.com explaining that you are looking for used gear. They will return a yoke size, main lift web size, lateral size, and container size. Then you can go shopping (they always have GREAT USED RIGS for sale as well). Be aware that different manufacturers have different ways to determine the same measurements, so you really have to learn each one. If you decide to go new, nothing beats having a rig custom built for you! Good luck and good shopping! Arrive Safely John

  13. Your move from 288 to 260 at that exit weight is a safe on IMHO. My recommendation is that you get REALLLY GOOD at flying the canopy size you're working on before you go smaller. There are lots of great resources out there. Try [url "http://www.performancedesigns.com/education.asp"]THIS[url]
