  1. Secret: he keeps it in his front pocket on vibrate! Arrive Safely John
  2. My experience with L&B has been great as well. They are all about the customer service, and built a GREAT device.
  3. Hey Richard . . . glad to see you joined us. DragonTail it is! See you on Saturday! Arrive Safely John
  4. Hi PB and welcome! I recommend that if you KNOW you want to be a skydiver that you jump right into AFF training (no pun intended). Our sport is one incredible experience after another, but it can get expensive. Save the potential extra cost of a first tandem and put it toward another AFF jump. Because skydiving is rather weather-dependent, it can get time intensive as well. Use the time you would spend on a first tandem on making another AFF jump on your first day! Arrive Safely John
  5. Welcome to Dropzone.com! Stop up and visit us in Raeford when you feel the urge to roam! Arrive Safely John
  6. Welcome Popeye! I live in North Carolina but I travel to Tucson a lot. Maybe I'll bump into you at Eloy and we can make a skydive together! Arrive Safely John
  7. Good luck with your training and welcome to the forums! I skydive at Raeford, not Orange, but I have several friends who skydive there. Arrive Safely John

  9. This is turning out to be a great little event! I have a suggestion . . . everyone bring your Dropzone.com t-shirt so we can take a cool group picture. If you don't have one, you can order one HERE Arrive Safely John
  10. I would call the FBO you plan to have her use for her intro flight first, though. My introductory flight was only $20. That was North Carolina 5 years ago, but nevertheless . . . Arrive Safely John
  11. I have about 30 jumps on my Sabre2 190. I have great landings with it, but I get a smidge too deep in some of my swoops - not scary-bounce-off-the-ground deep, but not what I am used to. I have the toggles at the factory setting, and have plenty of "bow" in my upper control lines at full flight (no bucking in front risers either). My experience is telling me I need to take my toggles up a bit. Others that jump the Sabre2 say they are using the factory setting. What is the consensus here? Are y'all using the factory setting on your Sabre2?? Arrive Safely John
  12. 3(Days spent visiting my parents and friends):0:0 They're only four hours away, and are in their seventies. We visit them as often as we can. We hiked up to three sets of waterfalls in the DuPont State Forest. Theay have had so much rain out there that the rivers were overflowing. That made the waterfalls BEAUTIFUL! With all the stuff going on in the world, in my mind, and in my heart, it was good to get out in nature and "reboot" my perspective. Arrive Safely John
  13. The listing for Raeford Parachute Center is correct. Of course, the husband and wife team that are DZOs are both DZ.com members (TonyT and Raefordite), which helps with the accuracy!
  14. Welcome back to the sport, Sinker!! Have a GREAT skydiving day, and let us know how it went! Arrive Safely John
  15. As a rule, I don't feed dogs people food, even mine. I second the request not to feed our "DZ Dogs" people food. Pleez?!?! Arrive Safely John
  16. What a hoot! He's a great pooch . . . always greets me with his toy to play when I walk into SkyKat. As for my dogs, one of them does not like exercise at all, and the other chases squirrels in her dreams, muffled barking and all. She's funny to watch. Arrive Safely John
  17. I am married with two children, so most of my time when I am not working, travelling, or skydiving is spent with my family. Currently on the weekends I am dividing my time between Church, soccer x 2, and working at the dropzone. Arrive Safely John
  18. Welcome Arvel! Nice to have some more representation from the Hawaiian Islands. Enjoy our forums! Arrive Safely John
