Anyone with a USPA Coach Rating can take the course. "There is no requirement to attend this course. USPA encourages all coaches and instructors interested in improving their training and evaluation skills to participate in one of the upcoming courses, even if they do not wish to become a course director. " As far as preparing graduates for a Course Directorship: "Completion of this course serves as an alternate requirement to have three years experience as an instructor before becoming a course director." FYI the BIC used to be a prerequisite to the Jumpmaster Certification Course under the old USPA rating system. I'm sure a lot of the content is the same; some of it really works well. I am told that Rob Laidlaw is the Course Director . . . he is a registered dotcommer ("sdu"), but hasn't logged on in almost three years so PMs are a poor way to contact him. I shifted my travel plans to Monday because of the hurricane. Relative Workshop (and all of the other parachute manufacturers, I was told) was closed today to allow people to prepare for the storm. My reserve is currently a PD176R, and my main is a Sabre2 190. I have ordered a Stiletto 170, at which time my main & reserve will be dead even in size. I think most people's reserve is smaller than their main. Arrive Safely John
