  1. I made my first board jump on a homemade plywood beginer board we found hidden on a shelf at Skydive Greene Country in Xenia Ohio. We figured out how to work it and someone had heard of what not to do before, so what the hell... i lived! training is good though. definately. I'd recommend getting some official training before doing it. the good thing about the baby board is you deploy in a normal belly, but even then, it's dangerous if the pc or bag gets near the board... and man will that first jump on it rattle you... peace http://www.exitshot.com
  2. Umm.. it's over! Was that as good for you as it was for me? Damn I missed the excitement again! you'll have to PM me next time hw. peace http://www.exitshot.com
  3. I don't know about the camper fee, I'd be surprised if that was for airport camping. It sounds possibly for the campground area. But that's a pretty steep fee to tack on to registration for 10 days. it's still worth it... As for this quote from the article: How could the village lose money when Wal-Mart sold out of water??? Not to mention all the other revenue we brought in... glad the majority rules, and the wise realize sales revenue from automibles was a factor, not us. I can't even tell you how much cash I dropped last August in Rantoul... Anyway, i'm excited, Rantoul rocked, and is only going to be better this year with a few of the little kinks worked out. I'd donate $5 for them to build a real showerhouse on the airport though. Peace... Great things to come in August... great things indeed! http://www.exitshot.com
  4. Yeah, that'd be awesome... I'll PM you. Thanks. Anyone else who knows musicians and bands looking to get exposure, we'd love to hear it. Thanks for everyone responses. Peace http://www.exitshot.com
  5. no worries, i think that's common with kids that age. peace http://www.exitshot.com
  6. I've seen the boogie and now many of the jumpers that were on that load. It was a load at the richmond boogie, a big-way belly dive as everyone else has described. No one was serioulsy hurt luckily, although having spoken about it with the guy who hit something, probably the tailgate, he did blackout for some time in freefall. He was also a richmond local RW guy. He was fine when he came to, got stable and deployed properly and all that. you can't see him on the video, or at least you can't see that someone is unconscious. peace http://www.exitshot.com
  7. Absolutely. We don't have internet/credit card set up just yet, but you can find ordering information here: http://www.dropzone.com/pub/gatherings/2002_eloy_holiday/video_order.shtml Thanks! peace http://www.exitshot.com
  8. Hey Lou, We have all the footage, all the master tapes, which the write-protect tab is broken off of so nothing gets taped over either. And believe me, we got lots and lots of footage, about 43 hours worth! thanks to many contributing great videographers. Cajones and I are editting some sweet eye candy time lapse shots he got right now. And we just got another CD with really good music in the mail today! It's exciting seeing all the little pieces of this huge puzzle... frustrating sometimes when things don't go as they should, but still cool. Thanks for everyone's support, back to work... peace http://www.exitshot.com
  9. Betsy's way fun sober, I can vouge for that. And she's a good driver too. and i know this other really cool skydiver that doesn't drink. in fact, everyone loves him too... tequila shots are okay for everyone though. peace http://www.exitshot.com
  10. He thinks i'm an angel... for him, i'll be his angel. life is good... http://www.exitshot.com
  11. Greetings all... You might recall Cajones' last informative post on this topic: Here's the update as of this morning. I just picked up the repaired laptop from Best Buy. The Warranty has been well worth it, but it doesn't save everything... There was a problem with the CD-ROM drive, which locked the computer up. The service department replaced the CD-ROM drive, and unfortunately replaced the entire hard drive. The only explanation I got was "The hard-drive was bad." Cajones backs up his hard-drive regularly, however, did not get to back up two weeks worth of work in cataloging footage that was saved as a file on the desktop. That file is gone. This post is to inform you as honestly and as up-front as possible that there is a delay in the project and we are doing our best to finish the video as fast as we can. At this point, having lost two weeks of work, we estimate that we will be 2 weeks behind in delivery. Good news!... We have good music, and it should not be viewed as "cheap porn video" music. Cajones has been working hard and making a lot of contacts with bands all over the country. If you have followed Duece's posts, you should be familiar with this. While you often see top 40 music on tandem and home video's, technically that is illegal. It is a matter of risk. Any video where multiple copies are produced and especially are for sale, it is a copyright infringement to use music without permission and the producers of the video are liable - a lawsuit is something we definitely can't afford. So we search all over for up & coming bands with good music who will give us permission to use on our video for free. It's not an easy task. We are excited about several tracks that we have and especially one band in particular that has a lot of good music we can use on the video. Thank you for your patience. Of course, we will update again as soon as we have any new information to give you. Eloy rocked, this video is going to rock! Peace Lew & Cajones (Cajones will likely reply to this post as soon as he calms down about having his entire hard drive replaced...) http://www.exitshot.com
  12. Pal version is common in Europe, not at all in US. I'm not sure what you guys use in New Zealand, but it's not compatible with NTSC. peace http://www.exitshot.com
  13. .."too" being the operative word here! You look like a pair of budgies. As for the visit... bring it on! Lew - did you get my PM? hey thanks man, got the pm, like you, sometime's i get behind... basically we'll see if there are cheap flights and if the video work is done... what are budgies? peace http://www.exitshot.com
  14. thanks for all your replies... none of those are the one i am remembering. it had a table... ay, maybe i saw it on blinc... i can't remember, but I want to show some stats and I remember this one being well organized and backed up. keep lookin... thanks, peace http://www.exitshot.com
  15. Does anyone know that website that listed high risk activities vs number of fatalities per incident... etc. It basically had base jumping as the most dangerous sport and then skydiving and race car driving and a few others in the next category... anyone know what i'm tlaking about, please post the link, thanks a bunch! peace http://www.exitshot.com
  16. I echo what Canuck says. And I'm sitting here with Cajones, and he also says the .6 will match the 28 mm for stills. Don't forget you might want a firewire cable so you can party with other Soniots. you might want a ringsight and cameye, but they're not necessary. I just put a mark on my goggles for a sight. and to know that it's on, when the door is opened, i switch it to the on position and wait 4 seconds, then hit the record button once. that hasn't failed me yet. but i did get a cameye for reassurance when doing paid tandem videos. Have fun! It's all about the video! peace http://www.exitshot.com
  17. Seis, you can have all the goldfish you want!
  18. Ha ha ah, that's funny... whuffo weddings always get in the way of skydiving and are filled with frivilous fluff. my sister in law made me cut my hair and get an "up-do" and get shoes and dye them to match the dress... yuck. i never go to those hair places... and i had to spend 2 hours there and $90!!! That was the only wedding gift i could afford... :) http://www.exitshot.com
