if you are on a budget, the 70-200L f4 is about half the price of the 2.8 and is a great lens. The 50mm macro is also a great lens for the price. It is a more versatile lens. www.canopyflightcenter.com www.skydivesac.com www.guanofreefly.com

Talk out all the particulars about goals and such first. then as a guideline: I think for a first time team 2-3 weekends a month is probably a lot. But you will have a great time doing it. plan for 8-10 jumps. I think for weekend teams 8-10 is the max jumps you should plan for a day. Past that your training will go down hill from fatigue. That should give you around 200+ jumps before a the end of the season. Getting a coach early in the season would aslo be very valuable. they can give a lot of advice on team dynamics which is probably the biggest factor for how much you are going to enjoy training. Talk about expectations of the team and adjust as neede. 3 weekends might be too much with other obligations, then cut it back. Maybe you are only doing 6-8 jumps a day. Fine maximize them then and make every jump coung. www.canopyflightcenter.com www.skydivesac.com www.guanofreefly.com

Ok, Stop. Everyone step back and take a deep breath. Phreezone was lookin for some info about webdesign/building for himself, not a client and it was turned into a pissing match technologies, "hand coders rule" or"my graphics are better" Let me put it into words every should be able to understand. Building a website is like skydiving. You have freefliers, RW, Crew, Style, Accuracy, birdmen, weekend jumpers, tandem students, coaches, compeitors, etc. Not one is right or wrong. Being a multi-media guy myself for around 10 years, my sites usually have a lot of pictures. Due to the fact I started the biz in photography and photojournalism. A programer who does a site while probably have a database, some javascript thing dancing, and a graphic designer will most likely have miniamal us of text, good use of negatices space and small text. Which is better? What ever the audience thinks. I think the best are ones with all the combined elements. Just like, I'm a skydiver not a RW or freeflier. I have worked hard to improve my skills at all discplines. Because everyone with a computer thinks they can build a site, doesn't mean they are capable. Phree sounded liked he wanted a few questions about templates. Lets try to get him back to the topic at hand because I would like to see what he wants to put up. So If I can chime in. I would recommend dreamweaver?? don't need the latest, but is nice Photoshop?? don't need the latest, but is nice and maybe a good book on webdesign from borders..I some times use that place like a library, they even serve coffee. public librarys don't. Yes the Voodoo wide legstraps are surprising comfortable and hardly noticeable when you wear them. My old rig was a talon and had narrow leg straps. I had reservations about the new wide ones but was very surprised by the comfort of them while flying the rig in the air and walking around. Depending on the size of the jumper, a smaller person might prefer the narrow mod compared to the wide legstraps. I prefer a very light weight harness that favors freedom of movement over comfort. www.canopyflightcenter.com www.skydivesac.com www.guanofreefly.com

B&H photo/video is what I use. Not always the cheapest but always a good price. They are one of the largest if not the largest photo/video retailer in the world. A huge store front in NY and never had a problem. http:/www.bhphotovideo.com www.canopyflightcenter.com www.skydivesac.com www.guanofreefly.com

indyz, Good points I'll get a html text info and work on the non flash redirect. I got lazy wanting to put more time into the site content and never went back and put that in. Sorry about the audio, but I want something a little more entertaining and want to support local music. I finishing up a little props page for all the bands/people that let me use their audio. www.canopyflightcenter.com www.skydivesac.com www.guanofreefly.com -
I had the same problem. I captured a few frames, then go into photoshop or the like and edit the image to what you want. then when you save it out, don't change the file name and make sure the jpeg is not progressive. It should sow up then. Its tricky, but should work. www.canopyflightcenter.com www.skydivesac.com www.guanofreefly.com

I just revamped the photo and video section on the Guano Website. http://www.guanofreefly.com I want a few opinons of how the flash video is working. It took awhile for me to get it to a point I was happy with it. These are the first set of videos I compressed with the flv format so I'm still trying to figure out what the best data rates and settings are. Take a look at the videos and see how long it takes to download and if the quality is good or bad. Let me know if the functionality of it is easy or bad. Thanks in advance..... Happy Holidays www.canopyflightcenter.com www.skydivesac.com www.guanofreefly.com -
The keyword and categories is the the wonderful part. make sure you stay on top of catologing files and putting the keywords. Well I'm glad that's going to work. www.canopyflightcenter.com www.skydivesac.com www.guanofreefly.com

There are programs for cataloging art files and the such. Extensis Portofolio is a popular one and one you should look at. Adobe has think has one too, http://www.extensis.com/en/solutions/solutions.jsp?category_id=1002 I use one caled cumulus and has a few features the others didn't have, I'm not sure now. It really starts with a accurate way of catologing the clips/pictures or art files. when I capture a clip in Premiere, I lable it 041220-???? the number sequence is 2 digits per year/month/date-???? This way your computer will sort it properly as a file and the ?? can be a short description. The good thing about the programs is it will catalog removable media along with hardrives. My biggest suggestion is doing "production burns" of files while the project is in progress. It will save you in the long run. Then when you are completley finished archive the whole project. www.canopyflightcenter.com www.skydivesac.com www.guanofreefly.com

I just leave it on and let it automaically power down. Then on jump run, fire a test shot or 2 and it will power up. www.canopyflightcenter.com www.skydivesac.com www.guanofreefly.com

Yes you are right. They should demand to have the errors fixed. I have had people say they were not at all happy with the work that was done and not get their money back. They feel burned. Please don't get this mixed up with the the current situation. Give the designers and Mirage a little time. Is the flash plugin installed on Firefox? I haven't heard any other errors for the Guano Site. www.canopyflightcenter.com www.skydivesac.com www.guanofreefly.com

I jump a VOOO. 89 Stiletto. 109 PD reserve.\ with Cypress Depending on the reserve the 113 might be a bit tight.(pack Value) Maybe a VOO. Contact RI to see what rig would be best, if you are interested.http://www.rigginginnovations.com The Voodoo isn't the smallest looking rig but very low profile. The attached pic is the VOOO. And I'm not the tallest guy so the rig looks a bit bigger on me. 5'8" 140 lbs www.canopyflightcenter.com www.skydivesac.com www.guanofreefly.com

You make fun, If I think the client is sktechy I can build a failsafe into the flash movie that calls out to a file that will load in the flash, from where ever the file is hosted. Never had to use it yet. www.canopyflightcenter.com www.skydivesac.com www.guanofreefly.com

There are a number of things wrong and you guys are finding them. Mirage is not to blame. ITs the designer that sold them on it. It is a lot harder for me to make a living when some one gets their hands on the software and underbids a project and dosn't have enough knowledge to buld a good site along with what the client needs. Mirage's site is just one of many. and is a big improvement over ther last site. Also, if the site is really new give the designer a little time to clean up the bugs. Even though it should have been uploaded and tested prior to the launch. here are a few sites I helped develope and build that are all flash and seamless use of it. They load fast and are engaging and functional for the clients. At least I think, and they have been happy which is very important. http://www.scpworld.com http://www.pegear.com/ http://www.phat-mama.com/ http://www.ihookstudios.com/ And the guano link below.... www.canopyflightcenter.com www.skydivesac.com www.guanofreefly.com

Flash is not bad. Its great technology when used right. Flash in the hands of a web designer who does not know what they are doing is bad. www.canopyflightcenter.com www.skydivesac.com www.guanofreefly.com

What up Kelly.... If you saw the videos then you know what I've been up to. Things are going pretty well. What's happening on your end? edited to add: Still waiting for Grant to send a 2003 Ranoul video. I still haven't seen what all the camera fliers and packers hard work was for. www.canopyflightcenter.com www.skydivesac.com www.guanofreefly.com

howtosee, I have a short tutorial that should get you started on this project. Its on my site http://www.petergallistudios.com in the "TIPS" section. I wrote it about a year ago and it should help you out. The 20D usees the same connector as the D60. You will need to purchase the Remote Switch RS-80N3 and splice together with your blow bite switch. I would recommend the Conceptus Bite/TOngue switch. I will be posting a few pictures later on. Let me know if it works for you. I have pointed a number of people to it and still wondering if the text is accurate enough for everyone. Give me some feedback if makes sense or not. Get your tools out, slodering iron, wire strippers and have fun. www.canopyflightcenter.com www.skydivesac.com www.guanofreefly.com
