Just wondering how many of you are good at doing many things at once? For example, this is a true story ... Back in 1975, there was a man driving irregularly on a freeway. What got me through my level 6 backloops were: #1) I superarched to gain some speed before initiating the back loop so I had enough momentum to make it all the way around which is what I see many students having problems with #2) Be aggressive #3) Tuck #4) Throw your head back and arms forward pushing down on the air on both sides of your body while keeping your knees bent #5) Don't stop the maneuver until you see your feet pass over the crest and you are on the downhill slope #6) now the hard part is over and gravity is on your side. Arch Arch Arch to regain stability in a belly to earth body position. To go forward picture yourself rolling or doing somersaults. Tuck and Roll. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." I have discussed CReW with some folks and it sounds like a real interesting discipline. Myself, being totally CReW inexperienced thinks things like Downplanes look fun. One day talking to a friend of mine, he told me everything I needed to do to do my first downplane since he was going to take me. We still haven't done it yet ... He was explaining how one person holds on to the other person and decides when to let go of the other person. Then when the person does let go after all that speed, one person most likely will be facing upwind and the other poor sap facing downwind. So that part might be a bit interesting on a windy day but its all good, just do it on a no wind day I guess. I think as soon as I learn a little more about CReW from experienced people, (a fair enough amount in that I feel comfortable enough that I am not going to kill anyone including myself) I would definitely be interested in trying some CReW. One of my favorites is still the chocolate coke. But the real kind with chocolate syrup and Coke. Some people think they are gross but I like them. I just want to salute not only our troops but all the brave Americans who risked/risk their lives as part of what they "do". Today, it was hard not to feel effects of 9/11 for me. All it took was listening to one radio program. I can't help but think about all of the Americans who died on 9/11. The firefighters, the hijacked passengers, the WTC victims and all of their families and friends. It makes me try not to take anything for granted. Hi AggieDave, Sorry you are not feeling well . I recommend sleep and lots of rest. Doing nothing except laying around. Theraflu may help you out if you can hack it, I personally only drink it if I really need to because it tastes nasty but it really helps. Also there is this natural/holistic over the counter remedy that used to work really well for me called Alpha C/F (Cold & Flu). That Alpha C/F has a lot of Zinc in it which can also relieve a sore throat. Other than that, hot liquids like soups and teas and comfort food. I second the BAD at golf. Of course I only tried it once on a course and once on a range. The first time was at a range in high school. A friend of mine was teaching me how to hold and swing the club. HeHeHe Lets just say after one big swing he walked away probably seeing some stars since I swung the club back directly into his head. Oops!!! Then, the second time I attempted golf was this last summer. I enjoyed myself and all except for realizing how bad I can actually be at something. This time I nearly killed my poor golf companion ... It was a hell of a drive ... the only problem was it ended up going right through the frame of the golf cart where Kelly just happened to be sitting. Luckily he saw it coming and had quick enough reflexes to duck What a humbling experience golf turned out to be for me. I especially enjoyed those times when I went to swing with the driver after setting up for the perfect shot and the next thing I knew was that I missed the ball entirely. Then its all about covering your butt and playing it off like that was really just a practice swing and I meant to do that all along. I guess its a good thing that I skydive more than I golf.
