I'll second that. I am a snowboard instructor and have snowboarded for over 12 years i also ski (when the snow is shit!) Skiing is much easier to learn beacause it is easier to balance when you can move you limbs independently. but to master skiing is much harder. Snowboarding is the opposite harder to learn but much easier to master. I do think sking ans snowboarding are comparable to belly flying and freeflying but not as far as the learning curve goes but closer to the attitudes related to the disciplines. Skiers/flatflyers were around much before snowboarders/freeflyers. When the new phenomenon of snowboarding/freeflying came about it did get a bit of flack from skiers/belly flyers because it was different. and amoungst these new snowboarders/freeflyers were punkasses with attitude and no respect for the discipline that actually without woul not have made the new discipline available. over time everybody gets to accept everyone else for thier decision to do what they want, and go ahead and have fun. But... from time to time you get punkass fuckwits that think they know better and try to stir things upwith thier naive attitudes! assholes aye? Most definately!!! I am a smoker! smoking has been banned in all workplaces in new zealand for over a year now. When they announced it, i thought myself and all the other smokers would be pissed off but actually i like the idea! I smoke far less now and don't have sore throats in the morning, my clothes are wearable the next day. There used to be people that were social smokers and only smoked when they went out(until nicotine addiction consumed them), they don't bother going outside and simply don't smoke anymore. less smokers = less tax dollars spent on health. The poor bar tenders that get the shit blown in thier faces, even if they are smokers they hate it. it is amazing how clean the air is in bars now there is no smoking here. That is pretty stupid considering there is a co2 bottle under every airline seat in the world for the supplied flotation device. I was working at a dz within a mile of a large lake and we had to have flotation devices on the tandems, we used ex air new zealand ones that had a co2 bottle to inflate. I have seen these rigs and they look pretty good. Not quite as tight as i would like. does anyone have a review on thier gear? and thier AAD? it is a very simple application for a cutting device with no wires etc. I wonder what the performance history is on them? They make a range of canopies with a crossbraced XF it looked good I wonder how it performs. Anyone have experience with mars equipment? I talked to thomas who is the new zealand dealer and an extremely nice and helpful guy, but he is the dealer so will obviously give good reports. Anyone? I have an 'atmo' dvd that was produced in 2000 and they were docking on a porter in flight fuck its cool. they run in and exit on the angle and fly relative with the plane. amazing. they were doing it well before then too. 6 years is not new! on my 25th birthday 1999, i was skateboarding with some friends at the local park. i was doing well with my skating doing various aerial manoevers. i was working on method airs on the large 1/4 pipe and was pulling them off quite well. untill i got a little cocky, this one was not quit right but i decided to pull it in anyway! silly boy. I landed on the back wheels only and the thing scooted from underneath me still on the vert. and i put my arm down. I slid down the ramp and dug my heels in at the bottom, thinking verything was o.k. i lifted my left arm up and i had two elbows!!! the ulna and radius were snapped clean in half. the radius was sticking out as well! all of a sudden i fel faint and passed out. i came to in the medical centre and my friend was in the bed next to me with a bandage on his forhead, i said (all drugged up) what happened to you. he told me "i passed out when the put the needle in your wound and banged my head on the ground i was high that birthday, i was choppered to invercargill (worlds fastest indian)from queenstown. for surgery, i broke my arm @ 3pm and came to @ midnight all fixed andon the recover. i have a muscle hernia from the surgery and i can tell when a storm is coming now.
