I have noticed this too but is part of my routine now so no worries. I have been using it for handcam and found it is MUCH wider than anyone elses camera and gives great results including shots of the customers entire body with the background included. I use TDK tapes @ AUS$23 for a 5 pack with absolutely no problems. most others at work use the same brand and they all go through the same editing cameras. What com[pany do TDK tapes come from? I have notices sony DV tapes seem to pixle when other brands do not. Anyone got a reason for this. sony recommends using their tapes for their camera (obviously) but they give me the most dramas. Velcro on the risers is my only complaint about the system. One thing that hasn't been mentioned is the nice handles for carrying the rigs around. I don't know if theya re an optin but out of the 4 brand new rigs we recived at my last DZ only 2 had them and 2 didn't. Hi, I purchased a xfire 1 with 1000 jumps on it for $400. I put 800 jumps on it and wen ground launching on it and sold it for $350. If you are buying over the net it is more of a gamble but if you get to inspect the canopy first you should be able to tell simply by lookling at it how well it has been looked after. I am selling a canopy fpr my partner at the moment and it has over 1000 jumps, it still opens, flies and lands well. but it has been packed indoors, and well0 looked after. Another canopy with less jumps but packed outdoors and left in the sun while the owner has a ciggie and lunch (or an AFF instructors rig) would not be in very good condition at all. The Main reason I purchased one, was the visual warning for my camera helmet as I can have selective hearing sometines and not hear my dytter. not to say I rely on it but it defiately helps. The swoop stuff I quite like too and definately use the warnings now for my set up in conjunction with the usual alti and visual references. While this comment may be true, i don't think the problem would come from the new guy it would come from the older comlacent stoner guy that simply forgot what rig he was on. If you are dilligent and responsable it should never be a problem. Complacencly would be more to blame than the systems themselves. Many companies have different (make, model and size) canopies in the same systems. same thing. The person that started this thread was in a position where the conclusion to this thread could directly effect thier income. My suggestion would be... To use the different systems and get experience whichever way you can but be careful, don't do anything you are not comfortable doing and don't become complacent. Most of all have fun, if you don't..... go and do something else.

Get both! I did, and used both on the same day when I had low numbers, because I had to. there were 2 vectors and 2 strongs. For those that say that it is not a good idea...... ...... do you do handle checks immediately prior to and after leaving the aircraft?? if you are then what is the problem? I have over 100 video jumps on my JVX84Hybrid now (WL 2.2) . I am a drouge whore most of the time but get to sneak a few in and I compete in freestyle as well, as the video guy!!! Openings have been great, recovery arc has been predictable and the swoops have been mint. i have had the 1 or two funky openings but nothing that resembles line twists or a cutaway....I pack my own. There is where your problem is, you ordered a canopy through a reseller that is in a different country to the manufacturer. If you ask the reseller what is going on they will say I don't know and if you ask the manufacturer they won't know your order as it is for the reseller. I ordered MY JVX and My partners Omega directly off NZaerosports just before Xmas last year and had them to me within 7 weeks and I am in Africa! Buy directly from the manufacturer, resellers generally are less concerned with how satisfied a customer is with a particular product than the manufacturer of the said product. I didn't think it is 'too' wide for side mounting, I know of several people that side mount them. It is only 9mm wider than my PC350. I would like it to be narrower but there doesn't seem to be much choice these days. I will be side mounting it and using it for hand cam. The docking station I am used to also. I have heard the HC range have been more sensitive than the PC's as far as dorty heads and so on. Thanks for the input none the less, anyone else? After trying and trying to get another PC-350 or similar, i gave up and decided thet the best solution at this stage for me is the HC-96. It is wider than i would like but it is not too expensive. It has a lanc port and a 3MP CCD. other than this I don't know much else about them but have had a couple of good reports from someone who knows someone who has one.......? Do anyone out there have experience with this camera? If so I would appreciate any comments on how it has been going, negative or positive. It actually would have a lot to do with it, The main type of transmission is through sexual contact, the donor of the infected blood, most likely was infected by sexual intercourse. For the light wind days it will be sweet and when it is working, JVX on!!! I'm gonna be in QT on the 14th and 15th of October. I will be making a B-line for the remarks with my JVX 84. I have more than 150 flights on the remarks site it is so easy with absolutely no walking, The amount of times there is less than 10 knots is not too often. I can remember seeing you guys working at NZONE with a glassy lake and nil wind down there but we were getting about 10-15 knots up on the hill. Also I noticed when I was on a 109 loaded at 1.5, flying with Aaron and Tuks, I had less performance on that hill that they did being loaded at around 2.0! Sometimes the paragliders were long gone and the hang gliders were thinking about going home and we were having a ball on or crossfire 109's and 120's. Hi Again, I am moving to a DZ where I will be doing both outside and handcam videos. My PC350 is all good and with a service will last me but I want a spare camera for when the unforeseen glitch happens. There are plenty of these DCRHC38E available new. They look small and thin for side mount. I've never seen one physically though.Looking at the specs they only have an 800k CCD and my Pc350 has a 3mp one so the footage must look crap on those? There are heaps of them new for NZ$600 which is only US$430. There must be options of reasonable quality, I would like another PC350 but the cheapest I can find a PAL version is US$1289! more than double the price I paid for mine 1.5 years ago!!! . Does anyone know were to buy a good, reliable, still currently available worth less than US$1000 preferably Sony mini DV cam that would be suitable for side mount and handcam and produce footage with reasonable quality for Tandem videos as well as competition jumps?
