Using home dz's as the middle man will make you alot more confident with the transaction as well. This way each of your dz's are vouching for both you and the seller. Sometimes even payment can be arranged through the seller's dz...this way you can pay with a credit card and the dzo will pass the funds on to the seller. Just my 2 cents.... Tee

It definitely depends on the canopy. I fly a Sabre and the glide is MUCH better with the brakes stowed, but my sweety flys a highly loaded Stiletto and he gets the best glide ratio by combining how he sits in the harness (losening his leg straps a certain amount), unstowing his brakes and flying in a certain amount of brakes with his toggles. Too much for me to worry about! Tee

BA HA HA HA HA! I pay $29 a jump at one of the dz's I frequent. Now THAT adds up, especially for a 3 cessna dz that only goes to 10,500! The other one, thankfully, is $80 for a 4 jump package.

Night jumps are sooooo much fun! It always helps a bit to have a full moon working in your favor (and not the full moons you usually see around the dz ) It is even cool to be a spectator when all you can see is little glowsticks come in for a landing....you can hear the canopies but you can't see them! Where did you get this information? You know too much... you leave us no choice but to tie you up in one of our rooms somewhere. A WARNING TO THE LADIES!!! There is a door-to-door scam taking place. If a man shows up at your door dressed in service clothes and asks to see you tits. DO NOT show them to him...he just wants to see your tits. Tee

I think the idea of a canopy simulator is great. The military and even NASA use simulators for their pilots. Unfortunately, as Indyz pointed out, this particular game has been in the arcades for quite some time and my sweetie and I have both played the game and it is nothing like the real thing. It is also like flying a canopy at a .0001:1 wing loading! But if they were to come out with a simulator that is more realistic and you could choose the wingloading and possibly the canopy model....now THAT would be beneficial.

I can understand how escape parachutes would save maybe a few lives, but I have horrible visions of 50 different floors, maybe 10 people on each floor (that's 500 if you are counting), all jumping out at the same time. There would be people from the higher floors falling through people on the floors just below them, canopy wraps, off heading openings....the dangers are endless. Experienced skydivers and BASE jumpers run a risk with that many other canopies in the air. Trained students still get injured on landing when they are radio'd in. I agree that the survival rate of untrained people would be very low. Tee
