    Sappy kid story

Andrea, I can only hope that my little one will look up to me the way yours do to you.
  2. Sending out the good vibes......
  3. Congrats! My dr. advises me doing anything that could involve a high speed accident too...which means no snowboarding this year either. Keep us posted as to how everything goes.
  4. Hey everyone. I just wanted to let you know that my sweetie and I have a little jumper on the way...6 more months! It wasn't planned, but is welcome none-the-less.
  5. It's coming! Good thing I have all of you ...definitely reassuring in my decision to continue to jump. I have been lucky because my sweetie is also a skydiver and my dad has been a pilot for as long as I can remember, so all of my family respects my decision. My parents come out to the dz to party a few times a year and, even though they don't jump, they have grown to understand why I love it so much. A few of my non-jumping friends are another story.....
  6. I will be a new mommy in 6 months and have now had to consider this. I believe that when it is your time, it is your time, whether it be skydiving, driving a car or crossing the street. However, my sweetie and I are going to play it safer. I won't be dowsizing anymore than I have and my sweetie is packing away his 97 stiletto and sticking to his 120 stiletto. And being that we are at 3500 ft above sea level, the air is certainly NOT forgiving, so his hook turns at this altitude are going to be limited. But in no way are we about to give up skydiving. Like Pammi said, we want our baby to learn to love life to the fullest. And besides....now we have our very own packer. "You want your allowance? Pack those chutes...and they better open softly!" Tee
  7. That is just wrong on so many levels! Speedos and thongs on men should be illegal!! Tee
  8. My first canopy was a Sabre 135 loaded at 1:1...purchased from our very own SkymonkeyOne.
  9. Oooohh.....somebody's looking for a spanking!!! Now there is a big fat lie if I ever heard one! It is you frenchmen that scoop up us sweet, innocent, unsuspecting Alberta girls! Tee
  10. No wonder Clay doesn't want any of us dz.com chicks...check out the ass on THAT one. Poor clay...such abuse! Tee

    CN#1 retires

Lisa. Please don't stop giving advice. I would say that 90% of the people here appreciate and respect what you have to say. The other 10% that don't soon will after they hurt themselves, or see a close friend with the same "sky god" attitude get hurt. Some people still need to learn to respect the danger of our fine sport.
  12. I saw the cutest thing at Lost Prairie last summer. There were 4 older men (the youngest not looking a day under 60) dirt diving a 4-way. They were laughing because they were moaning and groaning as they were crouched over practicing their grips. Well, when the dirt dive was complete and it was time to stand straight up again, only 3 of them did, the last man was actually hunched over like that all the time! If they can do it...anyone can!

    insperational?

We could always throw in a sheep or two to peak your interest.... On another note, of the original intent of this thread... "This is the beginning of a new day. I have been given this day to use as I will. I can waste it or use it for good, But what I do today is important, Because I am exchanging a day of my life for it! When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever, Leaving in it's place something that I have traded for it. I want it to be gain, and not loss; Good, and not evil; Success, and not failure; In order that I shall not regret the price that I have paid for it." Tee
  15. Hi there! I wear weights and started with them at about the 30 jump mark. Generally, unless you are doing REALLY, REALLY big ways, most people won't use very much weight at all. Very seldomly do you see people using more than 6-8 pounds or so. (also, as you get more experienced, you will find that "sweet spot" in your flying and maybe not need weight at all anymore). I am 115 lbs, wear, on average, 4 pounds of weight and jump a Sabre 135 and still don't notice a difference under canopy with my weights or without. my 2 cents
  16. So what exactly was on your mind that made you forget????.....skydiving perhaps??...maybe dropzone.com?? Tee
  17. It's the red eyes that you like isn't it? Admit it?!?! Tee
  18. I haven't heard of a dz that won't honor a USPA license. Later on though, if you ever want to compete in Canada you will need a CSPA license.
  19. DaKine Rags are AMAZING!! They are made from very thick material and double layered. All seams are double stitched too. And the materials are wicked! I have attached a pic of my man in his. They are the coolest! And the customer service is great too!!
  20. ROFLMAO!!! BAD VISUAL!!! Sorry Speedy...did I forget to mention our big kitty's that we have here before your trip to Banff? Tee
  21. Way to go Jessica! It will be hard...but as a little motivation, just think how much you will be saving to spend on jump tickets!!!!!
  22. No problem...that's what we're all here for

I WANT ONE! I WANT ONE!!!
  24. Hi there. You also have to take into consideration of having a highspeed reserve deployment, you will want the canopy and the lines to be able to hold up to your body weight without problems. Each manufacturer has their own "guidelines" for maximum weight allowances...I have attached a couple of websites as an example. Hope that helps.
