It was a trying day for sure. By the end of it I was exhausted and a mess. I've been told I said some good things on the mic but I cant even remember one word I said. It was very helpful to see so many friends from so far away and share that day to help with the healing process. May you all have a wonderful holidays and new year!

There was just no way I could make it up there last night. I didnt even find out till 7:30 last night, so instead. A few of us (Wyatt, Julia Margarita, Hottie, Eric and Lianne, and a few others) gathered at Neighbors as is ATL tradition on Wedensday night. We raised our glasses and told stories, and made plans. Im learning a good bit about myself recently. Ive learned that you have to have the vision to take chances and try new things, to look at life a different way, and to interact with your friends. I always tried to dodge phone calls from Lee cuz I knew I'd be there forever. He'd just call back, again, and again. I'm realizing that my friends have so much to teach me, no matter what they have to say, and it takes a bit of vision to open your heart and mind to their way of thinking. When you do, you'll see a whole new world of opportunity. This has been a damn hard year for me, but you know what? I wouldnt be the person I am today with out the influence of each and every one of you in my life. Lee was part of that. I hope to pay that back one day you sooty bastard!

I've been at a loss for words since last night. Of all the things I'd expect to happen to Lee, this is way down there on the list. Lee did many thing that made me understand him as a stand-up honorable individual. Yea we disagreed on some things, some to the point of arguing, but ya know what? At the end of the day, we could sit down have a beer and enjoy life. Thats one thing Lee could always do, enjoy life. My last conversation with him, he was calling me a puss or some such other insult b/c I was leaving the Farm on a Saturday afternoon. I told him I'd see him soon enough and I'd show him how to really fly camera. Guess I've got a little longer to wait than I though. My prayers go out to Brandy, Lee's family, and friends. As are most dragsters, they must be slow as well. Which dragsters do you speak of? Top Fuel? Funny Car? Pro Stock? None of those (the fastest) use automatic transmissions. Even when you begin to look at high end bracket racing the trannys begin to diverge from the "typical" automatic. Some, depening upon configuration, can still be considered automatic if they make shifts on their own, aka no operator input. But even when I was drag racing (bracket, pro, no electronics) I had a full manual valve body in a auto tranny. Giving the operator full manual control over an "auto" transmission. Then, in essence, it is no longer an automatic. Automatic trannys by todays production standards are crap. They waste fuel, they shift poorly, and their life span is less than a manual. Theres a reason that an auto tranny is a rare thing in Europe. They waste fuel. That all being said: give me an auto trans that responds to my input when I tell it to, that works with the engine speed to benefit fuel consumption, and that functions as a manual w/o the use of a foot pedal.
