Not hard to control if you get them out the door right. Ummm, on the ground.... Anyway, did you get to do your raft jump??
-
Good point... he who lives by the pie dies by the pie... I still think he should owe the DZ a keg for his 100th save though.
-
Why is pieing not an option?? Anyway... besides whom ever the lucky customer is that is his 100th save owing said rigger a bottle... I think said rigger should owe the DZ a Keg of Beer.
-
Define.... ... what do you mean by that?
-
So Rachael Ray is married to some lawyer + sick-f*ck guy... maybe she'll meet some nice skydiver and run away with him... beet the food at what ever DZ they settled at would get better.
-
Actually... I'd be interested to hear what Sandy has to say about this... even if he went all dairy...
-
oh no... beer cannot be "bad luck"
-
Pre-buying beer is not "bad luck", but it is cheating when it comes to beer rules...
-
And that means that you're now old-fashioned, and you're no longer "cool" any more. ... not being "cool" is its own form of "cool"...

Yeah!

No New Logos!!! Every time a gear manufacturer comes up with a new logo they jack up their prices to pay for it!!
-
Why don't you try jumping prgressively smaller rounds to find out? Maybe you'll get to a point you won't need one anymore!? Have someone let us know how it turns out... troll.

DOH!! Oh yeah... I keep forgetting R.I. moved to Eloy years ago... I still think of them as being at Perris...

A "Hot Dog" pilot chute?? ... wonder what kind of free bag it was attatched to / the reserve was in?? Wonder if anyone has shown these pictures to R.I.?? Anyway, a few years back I recall seeing a Jav where some way-ward rigger had packed it like a Vector 2... i.e. the reserve pilot chute / cap was under ALL the flaps on the Jav... Why would someone at Eloy be mad that these pictures surfaced on the web... just currious?? Are we sure the rig is really a Talon and not a knock-off??? ... wasn't Sandy letting some overseas manufacturer build rigs of his design under license, not that woudl be a knock-off, but I wouldn't be surprised if there could be slight differences, not that this is "slight"... ... anyhow, nuff said.

Oh for Cryin'-Out-Loud, Zeppo!!! Do you get out of the shower to take a piss!!!??? A Helicopter is just another form of "elevator" to do a skydive. Listen to what the pilot/DZO has to say about jumping a helicopter... if they don't have anything to say, ask, after that, jump! A few seconds off of the bird, its another skydive... heck... I've known folks that when through the traditional sataic line program where they jumped UH-1s for most of their student program!!! What everyone has said up-post... PLUS... don't forget to buy BEER for your FIRST helicopter jump!!!!

Question: What's The Lowest You've Ever Pulled?
ZigZagMarquis replied to Kramer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Once chucked a pilot chute going through 1200'... didn't plan on doing that, but I figured it was better than bouncin'... -
All this talk of low pulls
ZigZagMarquis replied to Andy_Copland's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Well... not like I've never been known to "take it off the bottom"... ... but since the advent of high performance canopies, I've moved it back up... and one of the two canopy collisions I've been involved in was short final, so a lower pull wouldn't have prevented that... -
advice for the lonely female skydiving roadtripper?
ZigZagMarquis replied to sgal's topic in The Bonfire
sgal... I was going to say something... but someone beat me too it with the... ... crack. Anyway, if you make it all the way to SoCal, consider checking out California City Skydive... http://www.skydivecaliforniacity.com/. They've got showers on-site and don't mind if you crash in the hangar or camp in the back-yard. Don't worry about bringing a gun, we've got lots there... its the best armed DZ in SoCal... unless you'd feel "naked" not having a "piece" of your own. Good Luck & Blue Skies. -
Awh, come on... one of the "high lites" of the mid-night new year's eve jump we did on Dec 31, 99 / Jan 01, 00 at Cal City Skydive was listening to all the GUN FIRE going off around the desert while under canopy... glad I pulled low... nothin' like getting saddled under 2K AT NIGHT... ... AND... one year when we jumped into the park on the 4th of July at sun-set the fire-works guys decided it would be "cool" to set off just one fire work as we came in to land... nothing like being short final and hearing an 8" mortar go off like 50 yards away... ... ya know, they could have TOLD US they were going to do that ahead of time... nah, that would have made sense... doh!!!

Holy Crap!!! I hope that deal comes with a Blow-J... err... "happy ending"

All this talk of low pulls
ZigZagMarquis replied to Andy_Copland's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Classic! That ought to be a sig line. Remember Bozo's Motto is, "Pull Low for Safety!!" -
OOOOooohhh!! I gots-ta-get-me one of those smooth-faced rigger rocks for my Rigger's Kit!!??! Anyway, I too have wondered how the grommets on D-bags get dinged up. I always wrote it off to them getting stepped on, but gromet to grommet contact during deployment, post canopy exit from the bag, or hitting a French-link used as a stop, like on a lot of kill-lind bridle set-ups makes sense too. If the grommet is so badly damaged that it could pose a line-snag hazzard, I'd fix it before the next jump and/or replace the D-bag... I've had D-bags that have gotten so worn, you can read a news paper through them, its time.

RR#1: Happened on my 20th Jump. Line Over Mal. RR#2: Happened somewhere around 1700 Jumps. Was jumping a badly out of trim Sabre. Opened into a line twist or two (probably body position ) & a slight turn to the right... then quickly turned into an SBOS Mal when the right side of the canopy collapsed and tucked under. RR#3: Happended somewhere around 2700 Jumps. Tension knots... left side of canopy not fully inflated... rigging in flight not a good idea... rode reserve the rest of the way down instead.
