Not many jets have an airstair door like the 727 or DC-9. You're limited in choices. They don't make these planes anymore. A 727 takes more runway to takeoff and land on than a DC-9. A 727 also requires 3 crew members as opposed to 2 for a DC-9. Even if new planes were available to fit this roll the purchase price would be astronimically higher. I have just one thought about what someone commented earlier. They said something like "it will only be used occasionally for special events." In aviation, "expensive plane" and "not used a lot" don't cut it. I can see a lot of issues trying to make this plane even break even. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

If I was on the USPA BOD I don't think I would want to spend every day wondering and worrying about what was said on DZ.com. Sorry, but this forum has some limitations for meaningful discussion. 95 losses in 2002 season. Enter Dusty Baker. Cubs go to NLCS. Had they finished high in the standings at the end of this season many would have been fairly happy. Because we got into the post season and actually won the first series and was up 3-1 in the NLCS it seems like a disapointment. Yes, there are bad unions and good unions. Just like good DZOs and bad DZOs. The reporting to the government for unions is going to get ridiculous compared to what a huge conglomerate is required to report. What did the shareholders get from the company? 10 pages? ALPA is going to spend millions just to try and track all they need to in order to make this filing. That, is a big waiste of my money and is being done by the Republican White House. Doesn't publish our budget? Are you kidding? ALPA (airline pilot's association) is going to get hit hard by the new rules that the Bush admin is enacting on unions for reporting. The rules that were already in place had us printing an almost 300 page document. Now, it will be almost 10,000 pages and we can only submit it electronicly. How long was the latest published budget of one of the huge companies that now have top officials going to jail? Less than 10 pages? Before you point the finger know the facts.
