Chris, did the full BOD not have to vote on whether this policy was instituted or not? If yes then the Safety and Training committe by virtue of voting on it already voiced their concern. They could have debated it and protested at that time. Did they? If there was no full BOD debate and vote then I think you do have a point. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125 -

do not! If you don't know....then you don't know. But Les would come out at the beginning of each concert and say "We're Primus and we suck!" So the fans would chant "Primus sucks! Primus sucks!" -
Nicely done gentlemen.

Actually it is more than group membership, but we don't want to be a group member dropzone, and I asked some outsiders (whuffos) about all this and they all used the term blackmail. This benefit is not worth $600.00. judy So GM is less than the course fee? So how many students is that for you? The revenue of 4 students is worth all this hubbub? You can make your stand. But, I can't see helping out with a letter to the BOD (which Mike is already on) to get this waived. The USPA went to trouble to put the course together. They should be allowed to recoup some of that effort (even if it was by unpaid volunteers). Either they get it with the GM fee (which you've stated would be less than the course fee) or they charge a course fee. Seems fairly easy which way you would go but if you want to keep letting jumpers less than the USPA age minimum jump you'll have to accept the consequences. Sorry, I totally disagree with letting people under the age of 18 jump. I don't feel you should be able to make that life and death decision until you are an adult. If this whole hubbub is caused by this other fued then I can't see supporting it. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125 -

Yes, as a DZ you DO benefit from having more coaches. You can make more jumps per day that bring revenue in to the DZ. So it is a DZ benefit to have a coaches course. And no one said you couldn't have a coaches course there. You have to pay a fee because you are a Non-GM DZ. But you are not precluded from having the course just because you are a non-GM DZ. So, I would say that is your real reason for becoming a GM DZ if you didn't have a reason before. What would the course cost to the DZ be compared to the cost of becoming a GM DZ? Isn't is about the same? 600 bucks? Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125 -
What do people consider to be a double mal? Is a main/reserve entanglement a double mal? I guess it is but the reserve only mal'd because it entangled with the main and not because it was packed incorrectly to begin with. But if we do count them yes, I've seen a double mal. S/L student left the strut and he put his arms down instead of up. The static line pulled the pilot chute assist under his arm and when he felt the spring and bridle he grabbed it. Held onto it almost all the way to impact. The FXC fired and the reserve entangled with the main lines that had enveloped him by that point. The round reserve material cleared the entanglement but the main bridle sinched around the skirt of the canopy. Never let it inflate. Had he performed his emergency procedures after 6 seconds as he was taught he might very well have had a better chance of surviving. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

Honda? I know Honda has a prototype small jet (6 seats) that has engine mounts like this. But this thing looks bigger. Didn't know one was flying.

Hey man....don't rain on the parade. They had to win on the road in a game 5. Atlanta has won the past 12 years but the Cubs still pulled it off. I'd say that's pretty darn good. Not having won a post season series since 1938 and now having won a post season series says they are a good team. Yes, I want them in the World Series but I gotta give them their due.
-
And the Cubs fans were louder than the home team Atlanta fans!!!..... Saw lots of them rush the field but not to beat people up like the Sox fans. They were promptly tackled by security. LOL.

You are correct. It's just the way you first posted it sounded like everyone was on Stilletos by the end of the program which can't be further from the truth. I do know some real lightweights were put on Stilletos because we wanted a smaller canopy than the 150 for them. But again, it's certainly not the norm. Far from it. And for the record we never used Hornets. We used Safires in between the Sabre and Sabre2 era. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125 -

Well, I remember you always on the whirlybird skyboard. Man, that's just scary stuff!

Pete, put down the Polish joke and just back away slowly.

Actually, that situation killed 3 people not just one. Her Instructor was in the right seat (and actually the pilot flying at the time of impact) and the father was in the back seat. They had a deadline to get to the next city because they were going to be on Jay Leno. Such a shame. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

So this was a known illusionist. I seem to remember a guy who said he would catch a bullet with his mouth on That's Incredible. Course, everyone knew that the gun would go off. Hmmm..... Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
