  1. 800 jumps. 1.56:1 wingload Stilleto 107.
  2. My condolences Carey. Take care and Blue Skies. Chris Schindler
  3. Thanks Emma. That's exactly what I requested be done with regards to getting people the knowledge on how to handle a critically injured skydiver.
  4. Wear sunglasses and a baseball cap. That should give you all the sunblocking you need. "See and avoid" is required by FAR and since flying skydivers is a visual operation you must be able to see out the window in order to comply with that requirement. 5. In a few jumps I will do my 800th jump. I had a dream last night that I had made that jump and was walking in from the landing area. Roger was sitting on the golf cart in front of the hangar and asked how the dive went. I responded "Really good, it was my 800th!" He got up and came over to shake my hand and congratulate me. Funny, 800th isn't any real milestone other than just being an even 100th. Roger could make any jump seem like it was a milestone jump. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  6. Yah, but at ORD we have DEANA as the outer marker. So, we always call it out as "Wisconsin xxx is inside Deana." Hubba hubba.
  7. EVERYONE!!! ENOUGH!!!!!! Damn, if Terry wants to have the last word let him have it. Do you think you'll actually change his mind by saying anything to him? Just let it go. Terry didn't show up here or on rec.skydiving (I checked) until others started mentioning him. Let this shit go. EVERYONE. God. Enough already.
  8. He was not required to wear an emergency bailout rig because he was riding right seat. Only persons in the cabin or are required by the specific paperwork to fly with the door removed must wear an emergency bailout rig. Pilots in a 182 must wear a baleout rig. Pilots in some Caravans are required and some are not. Otter pilots are not required. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  9. It's Bush!!! I knew it!!! What prize do I win? Anyone?
  10. Demerits!??? I haven't gotten a demerit since I was in Jesuit Highschool. Dang, 2 more and I'll have JUG. [Justice Under God] Ok, I'll be good. DAMN....I posted on a Troll thread again! One more to go.
  11. I feel that most know that many of these things have come from Terry. And to be honest I wish we would stop talking about Terry. Just as we give Jim Rome a voice by quoting and repeating his stuff we give Terry a continued voice by repeating his name. Roger was no saint and he freely admitted it. Feel sorry for Terry. Roger believed in second chances. Unfortunately, we never got to a point where Terry was willing to give Roger a second chance at doing better. If Terry wants to hang on to his anger then he will have to just deal with it. I hope that we get past this time when we bring Roger's name up we bring Terry's name up too. 12. I think we did talk about this before. And wasn't it determined that this "chick" was not a chick but some guy posting under a bunch of pseudonyms? Were there not a bunch of profiles with the same IP address ? Ok Seth, I'll stop now.
  13. And we'll thank John "Doc" Musgrave for it to since I think he was the one who edited it and got it out Sunday night or Monday morning.
  14. I'm just supplying the information. If they take no action I won't be offended. I have other things to worry about right now. This is nothing new really. Ok, it's not every day that we lose Roger Nelson to a skydiving accident. But the negative press has been there for years. In part, it's been encouraged by a skydiver. We've made it this far. We'll keep going. Chris Schindler
  15. *Smacks Head* Why didn't I think of that? I thought you did. I just didn't see where you said that you had ACTUALLY sent it to USPA.
  16. I have forwarded this to USPA and maybe they will take some action to contact the show. I think it does effect more than just SDC in the Chicago market.
  17. I stick up for Roger here. Where it matters. In OUR community. If there is slander and the family wants to go after this guy I will support them. But, that fight will come later. We still have to take care of Roger this week. There is no hurry in responding to this radio character. Time is on our side. Not his. Sending letters now (if they are inflamatory) will fuel him. From the sounds of it, many have been well thought out letters and I thank people for them. I see many who are not from SDC sticking up for Roger. I appreciate that so much. We have all been kicked hard in the chest and maybe sending something to this Rome guy will come out twisted. Having you all to support us now is probably the best thing for us. I again appreciate your support. Chris Schindler
  18. Bo, those are great. Take awhile to download on dial up but well worth it. That Nelson smile so huge in freefall. And that determined look in the dirt dive.
  19. Gary, thanks so much for starting this thread. It's time for the "fun" Roger stories. One thing I remember about Roger is the WGN interview about the 300-way attempts where the 246 was set. Roger can be like Yogi Bera (sp?) with "Rogerisms". LOL. They had the close up on him and he said quite excited "The 300 way is huge! It's about 300 feet across in circumfrence!" Bwahahahahhaha.....I put that tape in now and again and I just crack up. He was so enthusiastic about what he was doing that he might not technically say things right. But we knew what he meant. I heard about that low pull contest thing at Freeport. I heard he went up to the guy and said "So you having a good time?" The guy responded with "Oh sure" and that's when Roger grabbed the guy's reserve handle. Good on him. Roger loved producing videos and his video to his son Rook for his 21st birthday was great. I especially love the clip of Rook as a toddler climbing over the railing of his crib to get out which quickly cut to Rook climbing over a bridge railing for a BASE jump. Great stuff. He is so proud of both his children. I know as the week goes on I will be able to focus on the fun things about Roger and will post more stories that I have. I hope others join in here and post their funny stories about Roger.
  20. Thanks to all you with your kind words. I'm glad I could help some of you with this too. Your PMs have been great. Here is a picture of Roger at Nationals 2002. He was so proud and so happy to be hosting them at his facility. Man, what an awards presentation that was. Sorry for the large file size. I just don't seem to want to take the time to downsize it. Roger, Missy, and Bill Ottley I presume. http://ourworld.cs.com/Diverdriver9/RogerMissyBillOttley.JPG I'm trying to find another picture of Roger and myself and can't remember who took it. Taken about the same time and put in parachutist. I'd love to have that one. Chris
