  8. [Primus bass twanging] My name is Mud Butt! [/Primus sucks!] So I order a new container from Relative Workshop. I place the order during Winter Expo at SDC. I order it with the new Skyhook. And then of course, I HAVE TO WAIT! So why shouldn't I check each and everday since ordering it whether "Is it in?" Until last week, the answer had been "Let me check....NO!...not yet". I was then informed that if I continued to call there might be a small slip up on the order sheet where the monogram might not come out as "DiverDriver". He he.....very funny....and then I saw. Well, now it's here and I can't see it but I hear it looks great. Man, this is killing me. I ask saraH to email me some pics. Well, she sends them all right. The last one gave me a start. That's for sure. I'll have to figure a way to get back at her some day. Right now, I will just have to enjoy my new container while I plot my revenge. 9. Yah! From household garbage! That's the ticket!
  10. Oh, I don't think anyone needs to do that. It can't change anything. I'm not hurt. No really. I was just noting it. I know what I've done. And anyone who wants to know the pilots can read my article so it isn't like we didn't get any mention anywhere. Remember, I gave it a B+. That's above average +.
  11. Hey, I didn't say we are nobodies. I think they should have been included somwhere. The logistics of this whole thing needed to be covered (in my opinion). It gives anyone watching it years down the road the true sense of the event. But the story was not told that way in this official event video. That was my only criticism. Oh well.....I'm not saying I didn't like the video. Hell, I DID buy two of them. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  12. Hey Narc, I didn't say that you shouldn't get it. I do like it overall. I just had some self serving criticisms of it. I thought the title of the thread (taken from the Dell "Interns" commercials) would have given it a lighthearted tone. I did give it a B+ so that should say something. I think it's worth getting. Just was different from what I was expecting and thought some aspects could have been done better to achieve an "A" rating from my own feeble opinion pool. That's all. I think the raw long footage at the end was just great so see and have the photographers' names listed on screen as they exited. That was really cool. 13. K.....just got my copy of the 300-way DVD. Overall I like it. I give it a B+. But.......now I have to take exception with part of it. Not once anywhere are the pilots who flew on the formation listed. I think this may have been an oversight (I hope it was) but come on. Many other support crews were listed by name but the pilots were left out? The aircraft owners were listed but not all the owners flew on it. I'm not bitter, just thought that was an obvious goof of the video. Also, I thought the video was a bit choppy. The cuts are too short and don't really develop the character of each shot. It's like a string of snapshots rather than video. I like that there is a lot of aircraft shots but again they are way to short in length. You don't get the feeling of really flying in the formation. The viewer is left with a quick snapshot and can not really absorb the view. They are immediately wisked back to a ground shot or something else. And there don't seem to be enough personal interviews WITHOUT MUSIC. I want to know what the experience was like from the participants but I can't quite hear them well because the music is still playing over them. Overall I appreciate the work that was done. The video clips are awesome but could have been done better. I think the choppiness is the result of the MTV generation. This isn't a music video. It's a world record that took a year and a half at least to develop. So why present it as though everything happened in .5 second snippets? Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  14. This is another example of offering TOO MUCH INFORMATION while going through security. TSA is not there to be your buddy. You don't have to make idle chit chat with them. So don't. Now, this TSA guy may have it in his mind that you really can't take your rig on board. I have seen TSA personel boast about tough regulations just to feel self important. So don't play into that. When an actual rig is presented before him and he tries to deny passage then ask for a supervisor. They are supposed to know more. Print out whatever material you can about parachutes as carry-ons for your particular airline and carry that with you ready to show them. But don't offer it BEFORE they deny you access. Again, offering too much information can hurt you. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  15. OH YAH??!!!!.....Well they can't carry 23 jumpers! And...and...THEY can't get 23 jumpers to altitude in 11 minutes!!!! And...annn....annnn...... They don't have big doors to jump out of!!!! And my sandbox is better than your sandbox [/sarcasm] LOL
  16. Considering our King Air's total turnaround time is about 15 minutes... you're not the fastest in Alabama. But with a new paint job yours may look prettier. Actually, a good fresh paint job can help an aircraft perform better. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  17. We don't want to hear about your colon or semi-colon either.
  18. Hmmmmmm.......then it seems you could say the same about the Expert Cypres. We all know it will fire at 1,000 feet if you snivel through that altitude after pulling low. Oh well, I think we are arguing nerd semantics at this point. The bottom line is that Cypreses are very reliable yet do have some limitations just like any other man made device. I just plan my dive to pull above "Cypres Country". Chris
  19. What she is asking is if she can take off with Cypres on and jump into another airport that is higher in elevation than departure point. The answer is yes, you can use it but it will do you no good. The Cypres would fire below ground level at your jump point. What you need to do is use the altitude adjustment feature of the Cypres and change the fire altitude up. If you are unsure of how to do it get your rigger to help you. 20. Yah, I'm sure we are wanting to see what you come up with. Unfortunate that more specific info has not been provided by Airtec. Maybe that will change now. Chris
  21. Actually Bill I don't think 1,300 is the correct altitude. I think most here assume that 1,000 feet is some sort of intended trip mark. I don't think it is. Expert Cypres is really set to fire at 1,000' AGL. Agree with me? But because of the pressure signature on the back of someone in freefall it actually fires at 750 feet AGL. So, the student Cypres is set to fire at 29mph or higher. What would happen if the student is stood up with a deployment or partial mal? They slow down so that pressure signature is now near ambient. So, we come back to the actual preset 1,000 feet fire altitude. But now with the student Cypres if they cutaway or have a high speed spinning mal but are stood up the Cypres will activate at 1,000' AGL like it was originally programmed to do. So, I don't believe the student Cypres could "misfire" at 1,300 feet the way you describe it. The way the Cypres manual reads it makes it seem that there is a secondary logic going on that changes the fire altitude to 1,000 feet when in fact that is the only fire altitude set in there. It's the change in the jumpers position that changes the firing parameters and thus creating the two statements in the manual. I feel this is just a "marketing statement" that is causing all this confusion. But that's just my take on all this. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
