Can you die while doing a Tandem jump? Then you are a skydiver in my book. Course, I've only been in the sport for 8 years so I'm still just a tourist. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

You forgot about Booth's Law #2.

We put up with Chris even though he irritates the hell out of us! (Disclaimer: I am just kidding - please don't banish me!) Which "Chris" you talking about? Should I be offended? Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

You can just take "Roger's Oath" and apply it to Kate. "I promise....to help Kate....to keep me.......from fucking up." Then you all can give Kate the peace sign for swearing. LOL

I just flew a trip and had a Nextel phone left on. I heard a double click just after takeoff and then nothing. I thought maybe they had just turned it off or something. But then on short final at about 200 feet (right where we might be told to go around for any reason) the clicking in my headset just went nuts! I've never heard more interference than I did on that flight this past week. Seems the Nextel phones are nasty on the repeater. Anyway, I was none too pleased and let the offender have an earful. Pops up adds and Windows Messenger Blocking
diverdriver replied to diverdriver's topic in The Bonfire
It is nearly impossible to remove MSN messenger from XP. You can disable it, but it seems to find a way to turn itself back on. The best way is to remove the program and service. Use that program in my previous post. No, not MSN messenger the chat program like AOL IM. I'm talking about Windows Messenger...those grey screens popping up in the middle of the screen. -

DOH!....sorry....XP. I never had this problem until I upgraded to XP so thought everyone would know that as some sort of part of XP. -

I've got all that up to "services". I don't see that under system tools. Hmmmm Thanks for the help. -

Anyone got any free software to block this shit? I swear they design it that way just so others can sell a program to block it. I get all these Windows Messenger popups advertising their block software. They're the only problem I have! Grrrrrrrr....... -
Landing order vs exit order (Was: Accident Synopsis)
diverdriver replied to riddler's topic in Safety and Training
Because we watched people landing north on the no-wind days overshooting into the aircraft landing, taxi, and ramp area. It is unsafe. We must set a landing pattern to the south when there are no winds. There is plenty of airspace to land south. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125 -
Landing order vs exit order (Was: Accident Synopsis)
diverdriver replied to riddler's topic in Safety and Training
Exactly! And that's why everyone has to keep their head on a swivel ALL THE TIME. You (not you Ron) can't assume that everyone will be landing from the same direction. No matter what their reasoning is for doing it dead is dead. You can't go back and argue why they didn't look around. Look left, right, up, down, front, back, repeat....... My condolences Lisa. That is sad.

Isn't a new procedure actually a rule? You have to follow it if its a procedure right? What's the difference between a rule and a procedure? Chris Schindler

How about all the injured jumpers that could have been effected by this. Sometimes its a fine line between a fatal landing accident and a busted ankle. We won't get those numbers really but I'm pretty sure it would have an effect though. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

We act where we feel we need to act. In this case many feel we need to act. It's not a majority. But it isn't a small minority either.
