Yes it was a good reminder of what we could do if we were all independently wealthy. However the vibe from Eloy came back with me and I found myself continually being reminded of the week. My fifth graders thought I was nuts sitting at my desk laughing. At least my day was spent smiling. Heather Life doesn't have to be perfect in order to be beautiful!

I vote returning from the airport after giving up my seat, with an extra $400 in my pocket to amazing friends and one special one who still didn't admit that this was the best part about Eloy. You know who you are. Life doesn't have to be perfect in order to be beautiful!

I made it back to Chi town only five hours late. I almost thought I would have to stay for another day (oh no, not that). Yes you're right, spontanaity is my specialty. Life doesn't have to be perfect in order to be beautiful!

Wasn't the numbers that were any good at all for me but the awesome jumps that were made. I was there for 9 days and only made 7 jumps However I did 2 awesome hybrids, the HUGE TUBE, the fallopean (changed by request of Vanillaskygirl, thanks sweetie) tube (yeah girls), a magic carpet ride, and got to teach coconut monkey how to freefly (the rest shall be left unsaid). I met a ton of new friends, went climbing, got $400 dollars from Southwest, and partied like a rock star every night. It was an amazing time! i have a hard enough time with real names let alone screen names. i guess it depends how you want me to remember you. When I meet people in person that's the name that sticks. Life doesn't have to be perfect in order to be beautiful!

Thanks for sharing. It's a great thought however I wish more of Hollywood would recognize unsung heros. What about the teachers who educatate our children and the firemen who rescue innocent people and the medics who save lives daily? Just a wish. I guess I am nervous because I have never been to a new dz my myself. I have heard only good things about venturing out by myself but I guess there is always a little fear. Life doesn't have to be perfect in order to be beautiful!

Great feelings to you! I know how that feels to finally be free. I completed my masters (that I started immediately following my undergrad) while working in my chosen field. Went back reciently to take a "fun" class on climbing. The class was great but I still did not like the feeling of having to be somewhere after work. Kudos to you! Life doesn't have to be perfect in order to be beautiful!

Although I don't get on dz.com too often I have become nervous enough about my Eloy experience to make my feelings important. I originally planned on being at Eloy with my friend till the 4th. Turns out she is leaving on the 29th and I will be there by myself till the 4th. Chances are I will know at least one person there but not very many. I was at Rantoul this year but met very few people outside of my dz (I couldn't jump cause of a broken arm). I guess I am just looking for some reassurance that I will still have a great time. I am sorry to hear about your loss. Thank you however for reminding us all about the importance of living. I have rarely met a skydiver who forgets that but every now and then it is easy to slip. Yeah, I thought Natural Born Killers was a waste of time. If I wanted to see life that depressing I'd become a social worker. No offense to those highly needed school workers (or others). Life doesn't have to be perfect in order to be beautiful!

Because many of my friends left me in Chicago for the winter and went to FL. I can't say I feel all that bad for them. As for you folks who are used to enjoying the warm winter (does that exist?) I am sorry you're cold, but I (and many others) are cold everyday. Just think of it this way you could be in four feet of snow with a windchill that is below zero. Things could be worse.
