Just try to see this: If you had these irate refugees coming into your town, you would be scared as well. The longer they are stuck in NO, the more upset they are becoming, and when they get here...do you think that is automatically going to go away? NO. . It would be ok if they were "white" refugees huh ? Dammit....these people are AMERICANS !!!!! These people have sons and daughters fighting in Iraq ! Shawn was the real deal.....everytime the cops caught him they would cut his risers and liftweb with a buck knife. He always showed up a couple weeks later with another container he picked up somewhere. He scared the regular skydivers so bad with his wildness that there for a while I was the only one who would jump with him. Basejumper Shawn DeGeorge was in our local paper here in Vegas this morning. In the obituaries . I lost touch with Shawn in the last couple of years. Does anyone know what happened to cause his demise ? If you dont know Shawn...he was the first guy off the Stratosphere in Vegas while it was under construction. bozo bozo Pain is fleeting. Oh yea, my old car has 5 parking tickets which they tow you for here if you get another, and I have two expensive ones in LA. from what I have been able to gather, Hawkes, who supposedly sold out....we knew he didnt...was waiting in the shadows for Brent to fuck up. Hawkes showed up early last week locked and chained all the planes down. The rumor is that, he says....Hawkes....they were operating unsafe. Thats a load of bullshit. It was some years back, but I still remember him telling a 'hot shoe' that was critical of him... "I have more Dead Centers than you do skydives!" ....always loved THAT line! -------------------------------------------------------- I have a real good longtime buddy named Kirk Bastian.."Bounce" to his friends, that uses a similar line on the noobs. Jim Hotze Jim Hotze was a good guy . I havent seen him in quite some time though. There was another guy from Coolige I remember. His name was Doug Iverson.....he had a terribly broken leg when I first met him. He lived in the room at the west end of the old wreck hall. He liked to call himself Iverdeath.
