Right, we're talking about a person that supposedly can't get it into neutral. Toggle switches are acceptable, even preferred by airplane pilots. They are not marketable in a car that is intended for a broad audience. Why? It's pretty simple; people use the concept every day. Sure, people are familiar with it. But they also don't think it is elegant or sophisticated. Not so many utilitarian types out there. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

If you want bigger digits than the Viso, you should consider the Neptune. I didn't like the 3rd digit shown in freefall on the Viso - not necessary at all. Maybe if it was their first time driving the car it might be a mystery. If they've been turning the engine off previously, then it shouldn't be a problem. The reduction in engine vacuum that results from a wide open throttle can make braking very difficult for vacuum boosted power brakes. That is why the situation where people accidentally push on the gas while braking (with the same foot) often results in a runaway - with the driver swearing (incorrectly) that they did not push on the gas. It is easy to happen with wide shoes/boots, or just being careless. I did it, but realized what was happening, when I have driven with some big boots. In such a case, shutting off the engine while stopped and still in gear leaves a bunch of drag/friction on the engine that will usually result in no post run-on knocking. The smart manual only says that porosity should be checked after 10 deployments/20 repacks, but it doesn't say how to check the porosity or that it must be done by the mfg (page 20 of their manual). Perhaps there is something else in the manual I overlooked. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. The "45 degree rule" for exit separation DOES NOT WORK
sundevil777 replied to kallend's topic in Safety and Training
And when someone of my limited experience tries to explain the facts, its amazing how many 'experienced' jumpers argue that its does work and that they have been using it for years. I guess 'experience' isn't always all its cracked up to be. It would be interesting to study which would give more separation between groups - telling people to wait 7 seconds, or until they spend time looking for 45 deg until finally giving up on it and figuring it has been long enough. Maybe it actually results in more separation (because they take so long looking for the 45), and that is why it has worked? Yes, you are quite wrong. It was a very different program. I understand that the liberal media has told you what you've come to believe, but as usual, getting information from them is troublesome. The movie was very well done, had a focus about the influences from his past. The first half of it was pretty much non-political, not critical of BO. I learned much about BO's early life, and about some of his marxist buddies that I had not heard of before. Yes, his marxist buddies. Remember in his own words, "To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists." I know many that support BO don't want to contribute a dime to those that would make such a movie, but you could always pay to see another flick, but actually go see 2016. Have some courage libs! Give it a look. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. Wrong, I contend your analogy wasn't really about light bulbs. Even as a light bulb analogy, is sucks because carbon arc lamps fell out of favor due to the merits of their competitors. Incandescent lamps are being regulated away, when they still have significant advantages. Very crappy analogy. It seems you have a compulsion to use analogies, use them when they are not needed to understand an issue, and they are not even analogous. Akin said stuff about women being able to prevent conception when raped. Is that in your links? I'll tell you what is extreme - the position that there should be no exclusions at all for abortion, that it should be available for whatever reason, whatever time during the pregnancy, including after birth if the baby inconveniently isn't dead as planned when it is born. No exclusions, that is extreme. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I'd just like people like you to accept that it's none of your damn business what a woman does with her own body. There are lots of things that are illegal for a person to do with their own body. Abortion rights activists know that most people would support the unborn's rights over the mothers after some point in time. Where that point should be is of course a hot topic, but the abortion rights people don't want to have that discussion at all. That is unreasonable. OK, so what's that little white bump on the side in both of these pictures (Viso 2, not original Viso)? http://www.l-and-b.dk/products/visual/viso_ii http://www.dropzone.com/gear/Detailed/619.html I don't know, maybe it covers the little filter that needs to be replaced if you dunk it in water. Barrel Roll on Trackoff - Skydive Radio Interview

There is no need for an analogy. Especially analogies that are not at all applicable. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am -
It depends on the canopy. Some beginner appropriate canopies are described as semi elliptical or whatever. A crossfire or Katana is not appropriate. I think your thinkin of the optima audiable not the viso which is a digital visual altimiter. Yes, the Viso doesn't have the optical port, and of course you don't put a Viso in a helmet. Your concern is likely brought about by that kind of thinking - that an aggressive canopy design is needed to keep you entertained/to get decent performance/etc. Forget that kind of advice. A crossfire is definitely not right for you, even at low WL. Lots of very experienced jumpers are doing very well, having a lot of fun, landing very nicely on the same model canopies that are appropriate for you. Don't be in such a hurry to hurt yourself. Modern canopies have great performance, you don't need one designed for swooping. I would get the newer version if that is what was advertised, or return it, or perhaps some money back. I believe the old version doesn't have the soft rubberized coating. That is nice in that it adds friction to help keep it in the fabric pockets of helmets. The "button" is actually not a button, but the location of where the optional (you must get that version) optical interface port would be if you had bought the version that has that feature. It is just a dummy receptacle cover if it is not that version. I thought it possible that the newer version was water resistant, and the old version was not. It is very possible my memory is wrong about the old version not being water resistant. I was not aware about the jump counter difference you mentioned. If you call today, you could have the Protec or Benny for the weekend. Just do it, you will be OK. Of course that is easy for me to say, but really, the protec is the student standard helmet.
