  1. A lot of black liberals are saying and doing things very deserving of criticism and ridicule. Do you think that is possible? People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  2. Of course "starwars" was intentionally used to discredit a program in order to make it sound ridiculous/not feasible. Opposing such a program is a reasonable position, but not because it can't be done. What have we gotten for giving up on the program? I also think that Bush was stupid for being so friendly/cozy with Putin. What he should have seen in Putin's heart was certainly not an ally. At first, it could have been forgiven as optimism, but only at first. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  3. I think it is usually to change the subject. However, some of the libs making such allegations are definitely racist. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  4. Why is it being assumed he actually does disproportionately pick on blacks? People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  5. If libs in congress and sir hope and change want to propose a govt plan designed specifically for those with pre-existing conditions and such, that is something they could do. It isn't what they have done. They have designed a public option designed to cover anyone that would be subsidized to the point that employers would find it much cheaper than what they currently offer. This is how it would drive private insurance out of business. Sir hope and change says he isn't interested in destroying private insurance, but that is a lie. By offering a govt plan that is so much cheaper (artificially, calling it competition), it will destroy private insurance. He should not pretend it isn't his intention. If price fixing/benefit fixing/whatever sort of anti-competitive practice is the problem, the govt becoming the competition is not the right remedy. By destroying the companies I suppose that some would claim it takes care of the problem. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  6. If only something like that would be aggressively proposed, who knows? Many years ago Jack Kemp broached the subject of doing something besides employer-based insurance. He suggested that people should get insurance through other organizations to which they belong (USPA, bowling association, unions, NHRA, NRA, whatever). Such associations are at least as big as employers, so insurance companies still see them as big "pools". If employers actually paid people what they now paid in health premiums (a separate challenge to be sure, but possible), it would be very interesting. You would get job-portability and lots of choices. The point is that there are other choices than using a govt plan, unless of course your real goal is a single payer system by driving private companies out of business. 7. HMOs usually have no pre-existing condition clauses. I've found their coverage to be great, but they criticized for other things. Do you propose that the govt insurance plan should only be for those with pre-existing conditions? What you describe sounds like an anti-trust problem, like there is price-fixing/benefit-fixing and such. I can accept that is quite possible. Such problems have happened with other industries. Government as a new competitor is not the proper remedy for price-fixing. How should the govt decide exactly how "competitive" their plan should be? Wouldn't that be price fixing? Single payer government run health care in other countries has lots problems and complaints. How do you think our system would be different to avoid the same problems? Why don't other countries fix their problems? If you want a single payer govt system, then admit it. To pretend that you want a govt option just to add some competition isn't being honest, I think. 8. I don't have to guess, you make it obvious you enjoy striking nerves. Why do you so easily assert Beck's motivation is commercial/economic? I suppose it is much easier than debating the issue at hand, probably more fun also. 9. Strom Thurmond (47 years), Robert Byrd (50 years)... It is my understanding that those guys had a seemingly true change-of-heart. I think it is a positive thing that it can be accepted that they really changed their views. 10. Wrong, because individuals will be less and less likely to even have the choice. Competition is great, but you are mistaken if you believe Obama's lies that the govt plan will be competing fairly in the market to keep the private insurance companies honest. It has been proposed that employers would be charged 7 or 8 percent of salary to put a worker on the govt option plan. Employers that provide a good health insurance plan pay much more than that. So, employers have a strong economic incentive to go with the govt plan as a cost saving. Do you think the savings to a company will be passed on to the employee? Of course the true cost of the govt providing that plan will be more than what the employer will be paying the govt. I understand that some employers only pretend to offer health insurance, when what they really offer is the ability of the employee to buy it through the employer at full/near full cost - those employees will see the govt plan as a big improvement. 11. Because Beck is more likely to criticize liberals, blacks are more often liberals, and black liberals do a lot of things worthy of riducule and criticism. Of course conservatives do a lot of things worthy of ridicule and criticism, but do you find yourself ridiculing and criticising liberals as often as conservatives? I'll bet not, so it shouldn't be hard to understand the answer to your original question. A tendency to often assert that others are racist (on slim circumstantial evidence) might lead one to question you on that same subject. For quite a while now, white politicians have not been able to survive long if they were openly racist (that is of course a very good thing). I assert the same should be true of black politicians as well. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. 12. Do you think it is possible for a black person to be a racist? If yes, can you identify any? That is a serious question, as some of their advocacy groups assert it is not possible. 13. This is definitely not the first time "off the record" comments have been aired. This is the first time I've ever heard an apology for doing that. But of course sir hope and change must be treated differently than other politicians. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  14. Not quite the whole story there. Thanks should also go to Clinton's Attorney General Janet Reno, libs such as Charlie Rangel and Chris Dodd, all with the best intentions threatening banks with audits if they didn't aggressively step up their loans to minority neighborhoods. Then they got the fed gov't managed freddie/fannie whatevers to provide a willing market to buy such loans, no matter how risky. All done with the best intentions, of course. I understand that is enough to excuse any bad results, as long as one is a liberal. 15. To say one side cut taxes is not relevant. What does matter is the resulting tax revenue collected. It would be wrong to assume that cutting tax rates reduces the amount collected. 16. Obama lied when he said that he wasn't interested in eliminating employee based health insurance. He has many times previously admitted that is precisely what he wants to do, that he thinks that is the ultimate goal. He also admits that it will take a while to achieve that goal, but if he wants to now state that is not his goal, then he needs to acknowledge that he's changed his position - instead of pretending that he never held it at all. He also lied when he said that the debt wouldn't be raised a penny for the program, that hundreds of billions would be saved form elimination of waste and abuse...so many presidents have made that same promise to magically stop such waste, but we are just supposed to believe him. Even if he was able to succeed at reducing waste, the program would still raise the deficit. It is too bad the pres isn't challenged by the opposition as in parliamentary systems. That would be refreshing to hear something besides clapping. Oh, that's right, the dems have booed during speeches...anyway, it should be expected. 17. Why should marriage have to be limited to just 2 people? If you advocate marriage laws should stop excluding certain relationships, then all laws that do so should be abolished, including those that prohibit relatives from getting married. I'm not saying this to stir the pot/cause trouble, I actually believe it is the consistent position - what really should be done. 18. Ok . . . then I'll just edit his comment to include your words and everything is acceptable again. No apology needed. From the NY Daily News See, no apology needed - just a short, but according to Michell, a factual answer. And yes - her husband freely admits that they believe in evolution Which completely negates the claim that they are Christian. You can't believe one way, if you believe the other. I don't accept they are mutually exclusive. From my experience, Jews are not so confined into such all-or-nothing exclusives, why should a Christian? I understand that some Christian sects/leaders tell their followers it must be all or nothing, but that shouldn't constrain an individual. 19. The idea that a rib was used came about as a result of translation/assumptions. My understanding is that, it is said she was made from his side - not at all so specific as to mean a rib. I don't claim to be a Jewish scholar, just passing on some indication that there are significant differences in the meaning as the Jewish Bible "evolved" People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. 20. It is only a "big day" if there is something new presented. A reassertion of things already discussed is not a "big day". So, residue that would exist from the use of thermite was found. Do you claim that the use of thermite is the only thing that can make such residue? Your sources likely claim that is the case, but it is not the truth. Why are you only skeptical of what one side says? People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. 21. I think a fair amount of "lost" packing cards is due to the fact that their owners forged a signature, and didn't want the next rigger that packed it to see evidence of it. 23. Of course I understand the point you're making (kill those that are a threat to the conspiracy). However, one could also conclude that letting them live will deny the consp theorists more ammo, since they aren't well respected anyway (coincidental deaths), so I think the fact they are still living isn't a point worth making. 24. When are you going to address the question of how fast the buildings should have collapsed, given that you say they collapsed too quickly? You should not make that claim unless you have a target for what it should have been, arrived at by analysis or testing. Please at least respond by acknowledging you don't have an answer, if that is the case. 25. NO, Absolutely NOT! Your ability to make that conclusion shows that you don't have what it takes to understand this stuff. WHAT? You conclude that since they are reinforced concrete, the upper floors would land evenly on the lower floors, and because of that we should conclude that loads would be tolerable? Both parts of that are completely wrong? I can tell that physics was not your favorite class. Please stop pretending to be able to analyze this stuff.
