That's because those reviews were written _way_ back before Dropzone.com even had a username/login system. Those users, even though I have their "names", did not have to log in to write those. When I migrated to the new system I associated all the old reviews with the admin account... which is mine. If you wrote one of these reviews and would like to "claim" it back to make changes and updates, email me the review information and your username and I'll do the mapping.

No. I said click on the link and validate the email address in your FULL PROFILE. There's only one email address there...

Heya all, As I mentioned in an earlier email we are revamping the entire Dropzone.com log in system. To do so we need to migrate all existing users to a new database. The scripts doing this migration validates all email addresses before the user is moved. Please check your email address in your FULL PROFILE and make sure it: 1) is a valid email address 2) does not have typos (i.e. people forget the .com or type ,com) 3) does not have some kind of "spam protector" phrase or word. (like me@nospam_eartlink.com, or meateartlinkdotcom) In the new login application you will be required to maintain a valid email address in your account. This will not be shared with the public or appear in the forums. You can enter a second email that will be your public email address that will be displayed here. The current "full profile" and "forum profiles" will be merged. Go to the myDZ link in the top right corner of any page or click on the link below. make sure you are logged in and click on "modify my Profile" to update your information. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/login/login.cgi Safe swoops Sangiro

Without a doubt.

Thanks, Bryan is part of the group of reviewers I use. I've linked most of the stuff on the SDA site already. You didn't go check the S&T section did ya? Safe swoops Sangiro

I'm browsing through the "Search Queries Report" for September 2003. Search queries are the phrases or words that visitors have sent to search engines to find Dropzone.com during September. Here are some of the more interesting ones with the number of "requests" (hits) originating from the various searches in brackets: women's fantasies (114) genital piercings (42) pizza bomber (37) men hairy ass (36) thong forums (34) lipstick stains (32) pudding wrestling (23) stupid videos (21) rat pics (21) ...and for perspective: skydiving (8,982) skydive (2,951) dropzone (1,415) Makes you wonder... Then again, it doesn't really! Safe swoops Sangiro

Heya all, As I mentioned in this earlier post I just revamped and launched a new Safety & Training section on Dropzone.com. Go check it out, read some of the articles and take the time to rate them. Your feedback will be valuable to future readers as well as the authors. I'm also looking for some well-written safety related articles. If you've written something before or even have an idea of a topic you'd like to write about, PM or email me. I'm partial to basic safety articles that will benefit the broadest possible audience and will help keep us alive and enjoying the sport for years. With that being said, I'll certainly also appreciate any advanced articles or those specific to particular disciplines. All articles will be submitted for review to the group of safety advisers I mentioned in my earlier post. The purpose of this is simply to provide some peer review and some additional points for the author to think about before we push it out there. The final content of the article will be your decision and whether I publish it or not will be mine. I'd like to ensure the quality of the information I add to this database. There you go, start writing! I know there are people with years of experience on these forums. There are some posts on these forums that could be turned into a safety article with just a little tweaking and scrubbing. If you wrote one of those, I'd like to hear from you.

...and in the BASE forum.

I received your email, thanks! I'll add those when I find a minute.

Excellent! Congratulations.

Do not even think about turning THIS thread into a political discussion.... Talk Boogie! -
I know who! But then again I can probably pick whomever I want... hehehe! Feel free to send bribes to the usual address! Other cool tricks I can do: 1) Go back and delete a thread with 30 replies and we can do this all over again!
-
Made some fixes... please try again!
-
Always refresh your browser after you change your avatar! (do a search in this forum, this has been discussed many times

Heya all, I want to tell you about a few upgrades and changes that will be happening over the next few weeks. We've been working on this for a while but you may feel the impact of most of these things over the next 2 weeks. 1) Adding a second server The current load on Dropzone.com is too high for a single server. I am adding a second server and will move some of the more CPU intensive applications to that to improve performance on the server that actually serves up the site pages. Soon we will be twice as strong as we are now. 2) Replacing the Log In system. I am replacing the entire log in system for the site. In the near future everyone will have a very basic Dropzone.com account (name, password, security question etc) and your skydiving profile will be separated from this account information. Your full profile will become part of your forum profile. I'm hoping this will resolve all log-in issues once and for all. I am also setting up for possible future growth in other directions (which I will not talk about! ) 3) Forum Upgrades. The forum scripts have already been upgraded. I will be rolling out the changes that come with the upgrade over the weekend but most of the changes impact the back-end, how things are done etc. You will not see a lot of changes on the front but may spot a small feature from time to time. (for example: How does this thread stay at the top of the forum all the time? ) 4) Safety & Training Section update We are revamping the entire Safety & Training section on the site. The new Safety & Training section will include a database of safety related articles and links. This database will structured by category, keyword searchable and will enable readers to rate articles and provide a feedback loop to authors on the value of the article. A group of well-known safety experts have agreed to help me moderate and peer-review all articles that goes into this section. I will actively start seeking quality and thought through articles in the very near future - start writing! (this group includes Bryan Burke, Gary Peek, Skratch Garrison, DJan Stewart, Bill von Novak, Brian Germaine and others....) The S&T area will also include a soon-to-be-launched Fatalities database with the eye on further education. There are a few other things in the works as well but let me call out these only for now. I will keep you all posted as this evolves. In the meantime, if you see some quirky behavior over the next few weeks - I appreciate your patience. Have fun!

Have you tried to log out and back in as you? Try to log out, close your browser windows. Clear cookies, go back to Dropzone.com. Log in as you.... Safe swoops Sangiro

Heya folks, Yes, I just upgraded the forum scripts. I made a decision against the little thread icons a long time ago. They were back today for a short while after the upgrade. There are actually a lot of new things happening in the background. Some you'll see and some will simply make your life easier.

I'm not sure what this would be.... Are you talking about main-stream movies? People's personal movies? Skydiving industry movies? You can review skydiving movies in the Gear section... I suspect there are other skydiving topics with a higher discussion volume for which a forum would be a better value added service before we get to movies. Safe swoops Sangiro
