Is ZoneAlarm blocking the cookie that the site is trying to set? Can you check the settings.... All the checkbox does is set a persistent cookie. It should work on most any configuration so my guess is this has something to do with your firewall / security settings. Safe swoops Sangiro

It can't be done. read the FAQs by click on "Help" in the top right corner of any page...

Hey - search for "avatar" in this forum and you'll see this has come up a lot in the past. IE replaces your icon just fine. You simply need to refresh your browser so your cached image is replaced by the new one. Safe swoops Sangiro

Ok folks - this is enough. I'm removing Doug and Jim's posts. Personally I think Doug should be allowed to say whatever he wants, he has not broken any rules. I do think his post was inconsiderate and hurtful - that has nothing to do with me removing it though. I'm removing his post because he is speculating about the cause of a fatality. That's something that I'm not to keen about. As for Jim, he on the other hand actually DID break forum rules, several times. Running personal attacks on Tom and Doug is simply not going to fly. I don't care how strongly you disagree. His ban stays. I'll reduce it to 30 days. I hope you guys can actually grasp the opportunity to start the healing, at least on here. If this row continues after this action then I'll get rid of everyone who gets involved. There's a large group of people out there who want to BASE jump, hang out here and have a good time. I'm going to side with them and have those of you who want to have it at each other do it somewhere else. Keep your cool. Safe swoops Sangiro

Hey you! Welcome to the Dropzone.com forums. -
What Happened To The "Skydivers" Link?
sangiro replied to slotperfect's topic in Suggestions and Feedback
I've opened up a few additional fields to search profiles on. Go to: Who's Online --> View Member Directory Try the search function at the top. It has a drop down to select which fields you'd like to search. Any other specific fields in the profiles you'd like to search on? Safe swoops Sangiro -
Heya all, I know this has been polled to death but let me put it out there again with these limited choices. Over time I've been approached by people offering to run sites similar to Dropzone.com for me featuring another sport if I help them with the set up and technology. And I always have an itch... Which of the sports above are you most likely to visit and spend time on? You can select more than one option. Also, if you already hang out on a site in any of these areas, please let me know which one by posting the URL. Thanks!

Phree - we're looking into that and a few other options today. I have a list that I'm working though.... (as I always do!)

I believe there's a link at the top of this forum to the Pub... Safe swoops Sangiro

Yup - I'm aware of this and will add it again. Thanks. -
Are you the same person that posted above? I don't have any problems with the configuration you posted. This likely has to do with your security settings. Cookies, firewalls etc... these are almost always the culprits. Safe swoops Sangiro

Would you let a non jumper pack your reserve??
sangiro replied to callmewhuffo's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
It seems neither are you. We've been here before. You should know better. You're out of this forum for the next 30 days. Repeat this in the future and I will remove all your posting privileges. Safe swoops Sangiro -
Heya all, Here's a basic description of the difference between your Dropzone.com Account and your Skydiving Profile: Dropzone.com AccountThis is what you create when you sign up. It holds the minimum information. Information in your account is private and not accessible by other users. This is where you change and update your password. The email address in your account is where all notices and subscriptions from Dropzone.com will be sent. It has to be valid and is not visible to anyone. You probably won't have to change your account information often once you've created it You can get here by clicking on myDZ or login on any page http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/community/community.cgi Your Skydiving ProfileThis was the old "Forum Profile" It has been merged with your old "Full Profile" - we migrated all the information over The email address in your profile will be visible to users in the forums. It does not have to be a valid email address. You may want to update this more often as it holds your skydiving information. To view a person's profile just click on his/her username in the forums. You can find it by clicking on "Edit Profile" in the forums and then on "User Profile" http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=user_profile_basic; Safe swoops Sangiro

Heya all, There's a cool feature in the new Skydiver's Profile. Enter the size of your canopies, main and reserve, in ft^2. Enter your weight with gear in lbs. There's a converter to convert kg to lbs. When someone view your profile the wing load on your main and reserve will be displayed in brackets next to your canopies.

I've added BMI to the Ratings section in the new profile. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=user_profile_basic; Safe swoops Sangiro

What are the "2 steps" you are talking about? Does anyone else have this problem? I can not recreate it and therefor don't know what to fix... Safe swoops Sangiro
-
Login box added to the home page again.... Safe swoops Sangiro
-
I don't think you have to log in twice. I think the problem was that the login box you used to see was still validating against the old DB (cookies) to see whether you were logged in or not. So, it kept on appearing. Please log out, log back in and tell me exactly what you see. I can not reproduce this "error" over here so I can not fix it. Safe swoops Sangiro
-
Umm.. then click on that "tiny clicky" till I get around to adding a login box that validates your log in or not status the way I want. Regardless.... if you try to do anything on the site that requires you to log in you will be taken to the log in screen automatically. As I said, I'll get to the "nice-to-have" features later. Safe swoops Sangiro
-
Hey - tell me a bit more... do you have to log in twice all the time? Try to Log Out and log back into the new system. let me know if it requires you to log in twice again... I suspect this is carry-over from the old log in application. I think it wil iron itself out. Safe swoops Sangiro
-
Not as far as I know. This may be weirdness from the switch. Fixed I'll get to some "nice-to-have" and other features again later.... Safe swoops Sangiro

Andy, I'm not sure I understand what you mean with "spam-proofing" your email address. The scripts does nothing to your address. It will however send you another validation email when you change your email address to confirm the new address is a valid one. Until you click on the link in the new validation email it will continue to display your old address. It will only change once it's confirmed that the new one works. Safe swoops Sangiro
